What I demand in a good hotel room, regardless of price: -clean YES -comfortable beds, with ample space on both sides for getting in and out YES - ample floor space for placing luggage YES - two comfortable room chairs ONLY 1 BUT HAD A DESK CAHIR - large flat screen TV, with streaming service capabilities (Netflix, etc.) SMALL SCREEN - large dressing mirror in main room (in addition to bathroom mirror) YES - hair dryer YES -well-designed bathroom with several towel racks (many places don't have ANY!) NO, LIMITED TOWEL RACKES --plenty of "put space" (countertop space for amenities), NO, LIMITED SPACE -- good shower, YES -- good lighting, YES -- toilet paper roll easily accessible when on the toilet (many hotels have it in odd or inconvenient places) YES - desk (some places don't have any desk!) with outlets/plugs centrally located on the desk: YES - hot water maker with tea but unfortunately no coffee maker such as a Nespresso machine -refrigerator NO The hotel had a decent breakfast buffet. YES Coffee. The coffee in the buffet was good but there was no coffee maker in the room.

Nothing of note.

We booked this hotel as our last night stay in Iceland after our two-weeks' self-driven trip round the island. We have chosen this hotel for its proximity to the airport: it said it is just 100 m away from the airport (actually it is from the Departure Hall of the airport), so that we wouldn't have to take a shuttle bus to the airport. Finally we found that it is also very close to our car rental company: it is just about 5 mins' walk from our car rental company. It is not difficult to find at all: it is just the tallest building outside the airport, with a very nice red-brown color. It is a very nice hotel and the check-in process was fast. The room is large with a spacious washroom, and is spotlessly clean. The room has a large window facing the airport. The bed is comfortable and the room has a nice heater. The breakfast buffet next morning was delicious, too, with lots of food to choose from. It starts from 4:00 am, which fits well for those who have to take the morning plane like us. Overall I can say this is an ideal hotel for those who have just arrived at Iceland, or about to leave Iceland.

Nothing.

I stayed at this hotel for its proximity to the airport, and it delivered exactly what you’d expect from an airport hotel. The room was surprisingly spacious with a modern, well-equipped bathroom and everything you might need for a comfortable short stay. It’s just a short walk—less than five minutes, I’d say—from the terminal, which is ideal for early flights or late arrivals. The early breakfast offering is convenient, though the quality could be improved. That said, there’s a decent variety, so most guests should find something to their taste.

On the downside, I’m not a fan of carpeted hotel rooms due to hygiene concerns. Also, being directly at the airport means you’re likely to encounter a fair amount of noise and hustle—understandable, but something to keep in mind if you’re a light sleeper.

We needed to be within walking distance from/to Keflavik Airport, and the Aurora Hotel matched our needs perfectly. We were delighted to find that when we got there mid-morning that our room was available and we could check in for an additional €40. So instead of storing our luggage, we checked in and got settled before our Icelandic friends picked us up for the day (we took advantage of Icelandair's stopover policy). The person working reception was excellent and extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast opens at 4:00 am, which was perfect for us since we had to walk over to the terminal at 4:30 the next morning. Good buffet. The room was clean, and the beds (2 twins) were comfortable. Our room was quiet. Very happy with our stay.

It didn't bother us, but there was no shampoo or conditioner and also no lotion, so be aware that you need to provide your own. We always travel with our own anyway for backup. There were no washcloths if you like to use one, but many European hotels don't have washcloths. We always bring our own microfiber washcloths on our trips. Again, this was not a big deal for us since we know what to bring.

Oczywiście! Oto Twoja opinia po angielsku: Great Stay Close to Keflavík Airport I stayed at Hotel Aurora near Keflavík Airport and had a very pleasant experience. The location is excellent—just a few minutes' walk from the terminal, which is perfect for early flights or late arrivals. The room was simple but very neat and extremely clean. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. Breakfast was just right for the hotel's star rating: a selection of fresh basic items, with both hot and cold dishes available. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay near the airport.

The room itself was spacious and nice. Comfortable bed, nice shower, ... considering that you can see (inside) the airport from your window, it's very quiet.

I had a flight with an early boarding time so I missed out on the breakfast and there was no possibility to grab a banana or something to go. I was offered to go to the airport, check-in my luggage and come back, but that seemed a bit risky as a lot of flights started at the same time. Considering that they specialize in people who stay a night to take early flights, I thought that was a bit disappointing – especially considering the high price of the rooms.

staff were friendly, hotel rooms were lovely quite spacious and comfortable beds. the included breakfast was delicious and really needed before our flight back home saves on expensive airport food

alot of tv channels did not work unfortunately so limited to what we could watch. the beds only had one pillow each and one spare so unfortunately my partner pulled the short straw and I had two pillows and he had one although we never asked at reception for another which I'm sure they would have given us a spare if we needed

Really friendly receptionist. Not all Icelandic people are but she was. If you're renting a car from the airport it's metres to drop your car off, get to the hotel and walk to the terminal. Restaurant was OK - Iceland prices on the high side but not crazy. Parking is fine.

Tricky to find entrance. I would not describe the restaurant staff as attentive but they were friendly. Basically the waitress was absorbed with something at the desk, walked across the room to deliver something, walked straight back and, at no point, looked around to see if people's glasses were empty, people were looking up or if someone was shouting "hello" and "excuse me" 4 times. But they were nice if not unaware

Location, location, location-cannot be beat; literally an easy walk to the airport. Hotel was good. In the US, I would compare it to a Hampton Inn, for an example; but the location wins. Everything was comfortable enough. The food was fine and filling. When I asked for extra pillows, I got them. The staff was friendly.

The bathroom was dark, and the blow dryer was only okay. We could hear the wind in the bathroom. The wind in my husband's & son's room caused the door to rattle, like someone was attempting to get in. The towel was short and no bath mat. We had 1 pillow each; I had to ask for more for my knees (which were given to me).

I booked this hotel mainly because of its close proximity to the airport, as I had a late flight. I was pleasantly surprised to find a very comfortable bed, a great shower, polite and helpful reception staff and even room attendants (I was traveling with several suitcases, and one girl from the room service staff kindly offered to help me carry a suitcase to the elevator). The room was spacious, well-insulated (I wasn’t disturbed by any noise from nearby rooms), and the car rental pick-up point was conveniently located right in the hotel’s parking lot. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone and would definitely stay here again myself.

The breakfast selection could be broader but everything offered was increadibly fresh and delicious, especially the bread.
