Everything was absolutely top notch, top of the list being the staff. From the moment I was met at the airport, to the moment I arrived at the hotel, then check in (which happened in the room vs in the lobby) right through the stay - the genuine warmth and interest every member of staff showed, as well as of course their experience, was exceptional. As was the building, the grounds, the room, facilities and food. And the view. Oh my, the view.

The only thing I didn’t like was the hardness of the mattress - but everyone has different needs and you can’t suit everyone. Oh, and the other thing? Having to leave!

From the moment we arrived, everything was truly exceptional. The hotel’s location is excellent, but what made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding staff. We’ve never experienced such genuine care and attention at any hotel before. A special highlight was the thoughtful gifts for our children — a gesture that meant a lot to us. Emma, in particular, went above and beyond. She greeted our kids by name each day, which made both breakfast and dinner feel warm and personal. Her kindness added a special touch to our stay. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable experience.

Our welcome was wonderful, the hotel is beautiful. The view of the Taj Mahal from our room was stunning. We have been fortunate to experience some really good hotels in our lives and the Oberoi Amarvilias near the Taj Mahal was exceptional in every way. The service by the lovely, helpful staff was faultless and I can not think of any way they can improve on it. The food was excellent too in both restaurants, and Aryan (Chef), made the most delicious little beetroot/feta samosas with a basil “twist” that were incredibly. If you want a special place to rest, reset in beautiful surrounding and take in the beauty of the Taj Mahal then you really should treat yourself and stay at this wonderful Oberoi Hotel.

I am booked one night at The Oberoi in Agra to celebrate my best friend’s 30th birthday, and from start to finish, the experience was absolutely incredible. I was travelling from the UK and had been communicating with the team in advance via email and WhatsApp. They were attentive, responsive, and ensured they fully understood my requirements, even kindly guiding me to a rewards system that gave us 10% off our food during our stay. Upon arrival, we received a traditional Indian welcome, which we absolutely loved. It set the tone for what would be a truly special stay. The room was beautifully decorated for the birthday celebration, and to our delight, we had a private balcony with an uninterrupted view of the Taj Mahal something we’ll never forget. Every detail was thought through. The hotel is absolutely stunning, and the service is world-class. The staff checked in on us regularly to make sure all our needs were met, without ever being intrusive. One particularly lovely moment was when a kind member of staff helped us drape our sarees for our visit to the Taj Mahal — such a thoughtful touch that made us feel so cared for. Every request we made was met with a smile and handled effortlessly. From the personalised touches to the impeccable hospitality, The Oberoi Amarvilas made our stay truly magical. I can’t recommend this hotel enough for anyone visiting Agra — it’s an experience in itself!

It was very pricey! But service reflected the price

Our stay at the Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and impeccable service that made us feel truly special. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking balcony view of the Taj Mahal – waking up to such a stunning sight was an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, exuding luxury and elegance in every detail. A special thanks to Anjali from the restaurant staff, whose attentive and friendly service made our dining experience exceptional, and to Imran from housekeeping, who went above and beyond to assist with last-minute flower arrangements, adding a thoughtful touch to our stay. The hotel also offers seamless transport to and from the Taj Mahal, making the experience even more convenient and enjoyable. A heartfelt thank you to the team for arranging a special birthday surprise for my wife, making the occasion even more memorable. The food was outstanding, the ambiance serene, and the entire experience was one of pure indulgence. We cannot recommend Oberoi Amarvilas highly enough and cannot wait to return!

Amazing hotel with stunning view overlooking the Taj Mahal ! We had romantic dinner at our balcony and it was one of the best we have ever had ! The food was also great . Best place to stay ! It’s just a few meters from Taj and they drive you with the hotel buggy. It’s also very close to Agra Fort . Just a short drive! We felt very welcome by the staff ! Oberoi is known for their excellent service . Can’t wait to visit in the next days Oberoi at Jaipur and Udaipur! I know I will have amazing stay there as well !

Everything was perfect !

This truly is an exceptional hotel and I cannot praise it more highly. It was in a different league to anywhere else we stayed on our India trip and on many previous trips to India . The service was outstanding in all areas and the hotel management is very impressive. Every little details is well thought through. The location is incredible and our room with balcony had a fabulous view of the Taj Mahal. ( the only hotel which does). The decor is beautiful. The room has very comfort. The food was delicious. The pool was heated with comfortable sun beds.

I don't have anything to criticise apart from perhaps the high price. However it is really worth it for such an outstanding experience.
