Location is nice with great views and sprawling property. Room was gorgeous, the whole property paid lots of attention to detail. Nice breakfast. Staff very friendly. Nice pool.

I assumed a lot of people were being nit-picky about the crows, but there really are a lot of crows. You will never experience 100% peacefulness because the crows are quite loud. One even jumped on our breakfast table which we were not thrilled about. Food was okay. PLEASE remember that if you have a driver that they will provide accommodations for them (it is now the law in Kerala); we had a little issue with our driver the first night but it was eventually resolved.

Booking the Ameya Resort was one of the best decisions that we made during our trip to Kerala! This place is a paradise on earth. From the facilities to the staff - everything was pure perfection. **Advise to all of the travellers; if you want to have a boat trip on the black waters of Kerala, I would recommend to do it from this location instead of Alappuzha (Ameya resort can arrange that for you). We took boat trips in both locations, and it was much less crowded and the views were more spectacular from this side of the Vembanad lake.

This place is AMAZING. Check in was smooth with Anish and he was there whenever you needed anything. We stayed in the suite, attached the main building. Aesthetically beautiful with attention to detail. The raised bed was wonderful waking up to the lake and gardens. But what makes this resort spectacular is the staff. Chef Prahladan cooked us unbelievable food each night - allowing us to try all the local fish and more. We didn’t have to raise a finger thanks to the ladies Sudha, man jut, Asia, Sini and Reshmi! The report itself is beautiful looking over the huge lake with much nature adding to the overall ambience. Thanks so much, we will back!

This is one of the most fabulous places I have ever stayed in, and I’ve travelled a lot. It has been created with so much thought and love which shines through in all the attention to detail. Every corner is a photo opportunity. The owner/manager Anish is calm and helpful, the staff are delightful and the food is delicious. The saltwater pool is great, I had a private yoga session and an Ayurvedic massage, the whole stay was so relaxing, a retreat from reality. Just gazing at the lake, the ducks, the trees, fruit, flowers and changing light is all you need to do. We loved the Shanti bungalow over the water. Really hard to leave!

What can I say about this place?! Absolutely exceptional- what a property! From the moment we arrived ‘home’ Anish and the team make you feel like you are indeed that, and can’t do enough for you. With our own personal bungalow over the water where meals are served on the terrace, outdoor shower, warm inviting pool, wonderful grounds - it’s a complete haven of calm and serenity. Anish made all the arrangements for our trips and transfers and went truly out of his way to help us with internal travel bookings which we would have been stuck without. Meals were exceptional and the ladies who served so friendly and helpful. The grounds are kept immaculate! Truly the whole staff are incredible. I don’t hesitate to recommend this place and urge people to try it for themselves!

The accommodation and setting were fabulous, we had dinner both nights which we really enjoyed. The breakfast was very delicious. The staff are wonderful and make you feel very at home. Anish the manager is so helpful and can help you with any questions you might have he is so efficient. Managed to book Mr Sunil who was available for all of the driving jobs that we needed and made our travels so comfortable and straightforward. Mr Sunil was very knowledgeable about the roads and surrounding areas. We went on the bird sanctuary boat ride, which we really enjoyed. Thank you so much Anish, Mr Sunil and the lovely ladies serving breakfast and dinner. Special thanks to Sudha and Simi such charming ladies. However, all of the ladies Manju, Asha, Resmi and Jeyakumari were great. Can not recommend this property and experience enough. Thank you allso much.

The all thing that was a little disappointing, I went to swim early in the day and the pool looked like it needed some attention. As I like to swim this was really only a pool to cool off in but was a beautiful setting. Wasn't brave enough to swim in the lake.

Words cannot describe how wonderful my stay here was. The staff couldn’t have done more to look after me and make me feel at home. I spent my days swimming in the pool, doing yoga in the gardens, reading my book and completely switching off and relaxing. I took a tour to a nearby temple, a cooking class and 2 boat rides while I was there, all activities were well organised and very enjoyable. Every meal was delicious and although slightly pricier than local restaurants was still very affordable and value for money considering the location and personalisation. I wish I’d had more time to enjoy the Ayurvedic treatments. Ameya also helped with transfers to and from the property at very reasonable prices. As a solo female traveller I was worried I might feel a bit isolated or awkward but I immediately felt like one of the family. The place is really like a home from home and the rooms are spectacular. I felt like I experienced ‘how the other half live’ for a few days - I felt like a queen in my jungle palace being waited on hand and foot. Thoroughly recommend for a few days R&R, I stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer.

There are a lot of crows…nothing to be done and is the same in all of Kerala, but worth mentioning in case someone has a fear of birds!

Our room ((Shanti) had lovely view overlooking the pools, garden and the lake. It was very spacious. We really liked the veranda that projects out over the pond. The main building has a lovely open plan lounge. There is a yoga centre and a message facility. All the meals were very good and delivered to the Veranda.

The open air shower was not something we prefer but was ok. The toilet was remote from the main room and cumbersome to get to.

Stepping into Ameya in Kerala is like walking into a paradise. The place is so beautiful that photos just don’t do it justice. Right away, you’re surrounded by lush gardens full of dancing butterflies. It’s so peaceful and beautiful, making every walk through the garden an experience to remember. The whole place feels calm and peaceful, especially with property being on the lake. It’s a perfect spot to relax and feel at ease. When we first got there, we didn’t know what to expect, but it was simply amazing. The rooms and facilities at Ameya are some of the best I’ve ever seen. Everything is well-thought-out with great attention to detail, making our stay super comfortable. The staff are really kind and go above and beyond to help out, providing top-notch service. They really make you feel special. Meeting the owners was a highlight too. They’ve turned what used to be a swamp into this incredible retreat. It’s clear they’ve put a lot of love and effort into making Ameya such a special place. Leaving Ameya was hard. I actually teared up because it’s a place that really stays in your heart. I’m looking forward to coming back one day. If you’re looking for a peaceful, beautiful place to stay in Kerala, Ameya is perfect. It’s a true paradise that you’ll fall in love with, just like we did.

There are only 4 cottages here, 3 completely private and one "suite" attached to the lobby area. They prepare all the food at your request (extra charge). Food is really delicious and the food man is great! You really don't have a choice of any other food though since you're inside the gated property. The place is very tranquil and calm. Such a nice place to do nothing, swim around and relax. Loved it here. The pool was very great and so many places to sit around the property.

We stayed at the suite and we weren't aware that it would be attached to the "hub" where all the workers are and all the other guests may enter. The suite is upstairs and downstairs is the lobby area. It wasn't loud or annoying just not what I expected. Still an absolutely amazing suite.
