- lovely view of backwaters - free on site activities such as badminton, archery, bicycling, swimming pool - free tea time from 4.30pm-5.30pm serving chai and some snacks like banana fritters - location was clean, nice and quiet - lakeroom view was spacious and very comfortable - spa facilities available even though we did not use it. - ability to pay for room using international card

- Was made to wait 45 minutes to check in even though we arrived at 4pm, way later than official check in time. - lady at check in counter was abrupt when I asked if there were other food places in the surrounding area. Her immediate response was that outside food was not allowed into the premises. - we were given the room upstairs and only one door separated us from the next room. Walls were not very insulated. I could hear my neighbor’s phone alarm. - food was pricey and location was such that you are made to eat at the in house restaurant

From the moment we arrived, the hospitality extended by the entire team made us feel welcomed and valued. Hospitality and Staff The warmth and professionalism of the staff were evident throughout our stay. Special commendations to Ashwathy, whose dynamic and friendly approach stood out. Her attentiveness and genuine care enhanced our experience significantly. The management, restaurant staff, and security personnel were all exemplary, ensuring our comfort and safety at every turn. Culinary Delights The food served was delectable, showcasing the rich flavours of the region. The chefs demonstrated remarkable care in preparing each dish, catering to our preferences with enthusiasm. While the existing menu was satisfying, introducing a wider variety of options could further elevate the dining experience.

The bar service could be improved, as it did not meet expectations.

We loved every second of our stay at The World Backwaters. We stayed in a Lake View Cottage which was idyllic and all of the staff were amazing and so helpful. We'd booked our stay as a chill out following touring other areas in India and loved it so much. The grounds and rooms are beautiful and very peaceful. A lot of the time it almost felt like we had the place to ourselves. While we were there we had spa treatments, attended cookery demos, took a boat ride on the lake, kayaked and walked around the local village. All were so enjoyable.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Worlds Backwater Hotel in Kerala, and I must say – it was one of the most fantastic travel experiences I’ve ever had. From start to finish, the service was impeccable, the environment was serene, and the staff were incredibly professional and courteous. A special mention goes to Mr. Bejosh and Miss Aswathy, who truly went above and beyond to make my stay memorable and hassle-free. Mr. Bejosh personally assisted me in booking train tickets to and from another state in India, which was a huge help. Not only that, he even contacted a friend working at another hotel to ensure my next stay would be just as special – such a thoughtful and genuine gesture! Miss Aswathy was equally exceptional. She was always polite, attentive, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. She kindly accommodated my early check-in and late check-out requests, which made a huge difference to my travel plans. Her warm and welcoming attitude really stood out. The hotel itself is a gem – peaceful, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by stunning backwaters. There are regular activities for guests, all very well-organized, and I thoroughly enjoyed participating in them. The kayaking experience was a highlight, and the swimming pool was clean and relaxing – perfect for unwinding. I can’t thank the team at The Worlds Backwater Hotel enough for their hospitality. This has easily become one of my favorite hotels, and I will definitely be returning on future trips to Kerala. I strongly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with top-notch service. Amazing trip – 10/10 experience. Highly recommended!

Nothing at all

We liked the ambience and location..just near backwater ...the lake view is exceptional. Service is very good and cozy rooms with good power backup. Complementary breakfast is excellent... Swimming pool is very good to enjoy ... evening tea and snacks are complementary and those are also good . We stayed in lake view cottage...room is good enough for 4 adults. Drinking water is good and they refilling when we ask. We taken boat ride shikara boat ride ..1 hour ride is 2950 . Sitting in chair with lake view and having tea with your loved one is super cool...

The restaurant has fewer menu's for dinner and lunch . Those are very costly.... One glass of water melon juice is 200 and curd rice for one person quantity is 230rs . They should reduce food cost for lunch and dinner . They don't have much of Kerala authentic foods .. we thought of eating kerala meals authentic but meals not available.

The room was spacious, bright, and isolated from the other cabins, giving a sense of exclusivity. The area is incredibly well-maintained and offers the most stunning views. There is also a gym available, equipped with free weights up to 40 kilos in plates, as well as pulldown, chest press, and row machines. The food was truly excellent, and the staff was incredibly helpful. They also serve a wide selection of alcoholic beverages. The breakfast was particularly good, offering a variety of Indian dishes along with some Western options. The presentation of the food was impressive. Every day, there is an afternoon tea session where you can sit and enjoy the view while having a cup of tea and some snacks. That was quite a treat. There were some communication issues that led to us canceling a tour, which was a disappointing experience. However, when we complained about it, they were incredibly quick to resolve the misunderstanding and booked the correct tour for us. They also made a great effort to ensure we had an exceptional experience. Well done!

Communication in English could sometimes be challenging. This became evident when we were planning a longer boat trip through some canals. There could be better information available about tours and other activities, such as more descriptive brochures or similar materials. A minor detail, but worth improving.

Loved everything. The location the views the food the staff and the spa. Vishnu indraja and team at the restaurant, chef Prateesh and team in the kitchen, aswathy and team at the front desk and abhi and the other therapist at the spa and Madhu and team at the security were all fantastic and made our holiday truly memorable and special. Everything is reasonably priced and good value for money. The serene scenic backwaters bordering the property adds a surreal effect to this property. Will definitely go back here every year and recommend to anyone looking for a leisure vacation and I am told they also host small weddings and other ceremonies.

Nothing to not like.

This is a wonderful property - with just about 28 cottages in varying sizes. We were a family of 4 adults and during our stay, we experienced the Suite, the Pool Villa, the Stream Villa and the Lake view room across 5D /4N. Right from check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. The entire team at the resort was extremely courteous and hospitable - going out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Special shout out to Mr.Vishnu, Mr. Mithun from the F&B team and Ms. Aswathi from the Front Office for the excellent arrangements. Chef Prateesh and his team took good care of us during our stay as well. A wonderful experience - definitely worth coming back to.

Fantastic find in the heart of the backwaters. Right on the lake with serene views and wonderful ambience. The staff were so attentive, spa/massage excellent and the pool is great for a dip- especially at sunset. Rooms are big and well equipped. I would say “classic/traditional” in design, not modern, but characterful. The breakfast was plentiful and restaurant menu extensive, well priced and delicious. Wish I’d stayed longer to savour more of the options! A few nice (free) extras were a pleasant surprise during my stay, including a high-tea mid afternoon, followed by a short cooking class. The staff can also assist with boat trips which pick up directly from their own private jetty! I recommend this resort 100% and the friendly, polite staff make it feel so welcoming.

We booked lakeside view and stream view room. Definitely recommend the lakeside view room as the location of this Hotel is very well placed facing the Backwaters. The staff upon arrival were very friendly. Sorry if I have misspelt any names but special compliments go out to: Febi/Femi who was very sweet in giving us a tour and guiding us to our rooms. We met Vishnu at the restaurant who was really helpful in recommending what to eat as one of our guests fell ill. Also, we met the exec chef Pratheesh who always made the effort to talk to guests and the same with us. We will very much miss Vishnu and Pratheesh, nice guys and wish them all the best!

The only thing I found was that there were no hand towels in both rooms. I requested this and only received it after a couple of times of calling. The other room didn’t receive any.
