Loved the stay at Lovedale. Mr. & Mrs. Anshad are one of the best hosts you will ever come across. Not only did they make sure our stay was comfortable but also arranged a Shikara ride, Auto and also guided us for other activities. If you are looking for a peaceful stay away from the chaos, and want to spend time in solitude, this is the place for you. I visited Kerala with my daughter and we planned one night stay but extended it to two. We were so happy with the property and mostly had our meals at the homestay. We loved everything they had cooked for us.

The garden and the view could not be faulted absolutely beautiful. My veranda gave me an uninterrupted view of the lake. The garden was well maintained with a gazebo for dining. The room/bed were clean. Amina and Anshad were.perfect hosts. Amina’s food was superb whilst Anshad made light of any request. The surrounding area was a delight to walk around seeing how local fishermen/women work, easy reach of a ferry terminal plus a very pretty church and cafe selling chia.

What I liked far outweighed what I didn’t like. However I would say that the facilities mainly the bathroom definitely need an upgrade.

The property is almost like a paradise, with a beautiful garden, overlooking the lake Vembanad. You can just sit in the garden and spend all day watching hundreds of water birds and fishermen. It's really a homestay where you stay with a family and served with absolute local delicacies for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The warmth of the family, absolute beauty of the place and smiling people in the neighborhood would make your stay a fantasy.

The property is located very close to the backwaters. I took into a independent cottage facing the backwaters. Amazing sunrises, lovely view, great hospitality by the staff everything I wanted. The property owner was very much concerned to check on if the kids were comfortable and if we reached back safely from our outing. Excellent food , out of way to always be there to help you with either your plans of nearby locations and definitely value for money. Property was always kept clean.

Non availability of shops near by. Had to either walk 1.5kms to reach the junction or trouble the owner for arranging vehicle.

The property was located within a beautiful and calming garden. it has the most spectacular views of the lake from where you can watch the fishermen and numerous bird life. We spent most of our time out and about or in the garden. The room was fine and everything worked. A little far away from the centre but definitely worth it, especially if you want to stay for a longer period. The owners could not have done any more to make our stay more comfortable. They assist with anything- just ask.

There wasn’t anything we disliked

This is one of the loveliest places we’ve stayed on our travels. The location is stunning, we really enjoyed sitting and eating by the lake. The owners are incredibly kind and the food they prepare is delicious. Anshad even came with us to the bus stand in the morning to help us get the right bus. He arranged a boat for us to go to the island and lent us bikes to cycle around the local area.

Very nice and friendly staff, food quality was excellent. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Lake view was really awesome..!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

It is rainy so we had some discomfort in parking as the road was slightly narrow and muddy for a large vehicle.

We had an amazing stay. I came with my family for 2 days. The location is next to the lake and is very peaceful. All the meals were delicious. And the host Anshad was very helpful. He arranged many activities for us and guided us well.

A serene location right on the water that you can enjoy all day. We had our 3 meals at Lovedale itself, sumptuous, generous and freshly made. We enjoyed small boat rides, beach trips and a massage during our stay. Unfortunately for us, we needed to rush back home due to a medical emergency before we could fully complete our stay. The host & hostess were fully supportive - it was 5 AM in the morning, but Anshad, the host, immediately arranged a taxi for us to take us to the airport and was helpful in our time of need. His wife offered hot tea to help energize us as we rushed through our exit process.

Lovedale itself is a great property and you can sit under the pergola and enjoy the view. However, on either side of this property we witnessed constant disposal of trash into the water. There is nothing Lovedale can do about this and Anshad himself expressed sadness about it, but we wish that people that live along this majestic Vembanad Lake and gain their livelihoods from it treat it with the respect it deserves.

An oasis of calm. Excellent food, all Keralan specialities. We didn't have lunch as we often don't so we were given an extra large dinner, fabulous fish. Room was lovely and the views are stunning.

We like to explore, but not easy here on foot need a tuk tuk or scooter. Bed was rather hard, but we like a soft bed.
