We arrived at 1am, and the staff greeted us warmly. We were given an upgrade from a deluxe room to superior deluxe. It's been the most expensive hotel of our month trip, but the room was spacious, clean, comfy bed, good air-con and cold fridge. It had a lovely marble bathroom with 4 showers ! (That's a first!) With lots of hot water. We were facing onto Garden Road and it was really quiet. They gave us an hours grace checking out at 1pm and as we're on a late train tonight they will give us a room to shower in. I'd recommend this hotel for your stay in Mumbai and don't know why it only scores 6.2??!!

The breakfast was abit limited, but they would cook extras for you, like fried eggs and dosa.

I got a nice big room instead of the standard room due to availability. The view in front is very nice - of quaint buildings. The tea was good, and the staff polite. Overall, it is a good hotel in a quaint neighborhood.

The furniture in the breakfast hall is of ordinary quality - they need to have proper wooden tables and chairs instead of the steel ones they're using at present. The tables are the folding type and the chairs are not comfortable. They need to be replaced with proper wooden furniture. The bread and jam being served needs to be of better quality. The jam in particular seemed very artificial with a lot of colour in it. One night employee was talking very loudly while having his breakfast. Some discarded plastic covers/bottles etc were kept in a small pile in one corner - instead of being disposed off properly.

The location is great - you're on a quiet street but handy for all the tourist sites of Colaba: the market, Gateway Of India, ferries to Elephanta Island, etc. The hotel staff are all very friendly and took good care of us. The reception staff were always very helpful - in particular Mr Singh. The breakfast was buffet style with a range of options. There were always tea and coffee, cornflakes, boiled eggs, fruit and toast for those who wanted something neutral; and several hot Indian food options of various levels of spiciness. The Indian food options changed every day so there was always something new to try. The masala chai was always delicious. We saw some people in previous reviews had issues with the size of the breakfast room but we never had a problem getting a table, weekdays or weekends. We spent the first night in a room on the 2nd floor - a suite but without a view. Mr Singh offered to move us to the 7th floor to a room with a view. We agreed and were on the 7th floor for the rest of our stay (Room 701). This corner room had views of the sea and had a little sitting area with windows on both sides which got a lovely cooling breeze in the afternoon. The beds were comfortable and the room benefitted from a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a roof terrace restaurant open in the evenings from ~5.30pm. Even if you don't eat here it's worth going up to see the view.

Our one issue with the TV in the room was that it didn't have access to the channel showing the WPL cricket. :( The cleaning of the room was a bit random, in that some days we didn't get any cleaning but bottles of water were left by our door; other days the room was completely turned over - change of towels and sheets. There is a button that you can activate to show you want your room cleaned, but as the room has power activated by the key, once you leave the room and take the key from the slot, the light goes out. Not sure how the staff will know if you want cleaning in this case.

Location of the Godwin Hotel is excellent. Easily accessible from the road. Staff are very friendly. Mr. Narendra Singh at the reception was extremely friendly, humorous & informative about the area around the hotel. Room size was large & comfortable. Will stay there again if we have to visit the southern part of Mumbai for a function.

Towels are a little threadbare & should be renewed. Corridors are noisy when kids run around them. Corridors are narrow & the one lift available is very slow between floors.

Excellent location for proximity to shopping centres and touring. Good variety offered for breakfast options. Friendly , helpful staff.

The room advertised as per Booking.com site pictures did not match up to the room given. The bathroom walls had mould and required constant requests for appropriate cleaning. The cleaning staff were very helpful but possible supervision of all rooms tidiness needs to be evaluated prior to guests check-in. The front of house Receptionist was quite rude and curt in responses to requests. The rooms airconditioning did not work, so for an excess of 35 degree temps this is very annoying .

We booked this hotel on the eve of our stay, as the previous hotel that we booked was not up to our expectations. I would say that the staff at Godwin are so helpful, they tried their best to make the check-in procedure go smoothly. They even offer us free breakfast on the check-in day. The room was big and very clean with a comfortable bed. Luxurious bathroom. Breakfast was good, a little bit limited, but was not an issue for me, I was able to adjust. The location is superb. walking distance to the gateway of India, and the shopping street of Colaba. Lots of good restaurants to eat nearby. The hotel also has a good dinner package. The staff helped us with our heavy luggage and sometimes when coming back from our shopping haul, they would carry our bags to our room. Hence I surely recommend this hotel

The breakfast maybe.

Facilities were good. Service and People and were good and courteous. Breakfast was very good. Privacy was good and maintained. Felt like we had place for ourselves. Cleanliness and location were uncompromised. Rooms were spacious and had a sense of historic value without quality being compromised.

The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Our rooms was kindly upgraded and any requests / issues were resolved immediately. the room was incredibly spacious with all the necessary amenities. Bottle water provided daily. Breakfast was good, however we missed it most mornings. Mr Rajesh and Mr Singh on the front desk were particularly exceptional and very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself was set in the heart of Colaba on a quiet side street. 5 minutes walking distance from the Taj Palace Hotel and iconic Gateway of India. Plenty of shopping any eating options in and around the surrounding streets.

WiFi speed and reliability could do with further improvement and the iron did not have a steam function making ironing clothes difficult.

This is a great hotel and it’s rating should be much higher than it is. The location is fantastic. Facilities very good and the staff are so welcoming and very attentive. I don’t feel the hotel gets enough credit. I will be staying here again for sure.

A few minor issues here and there but that is only if you want to be picky. If you want a normal good place to stay. This is it.

We were immensely impressed with the polite front office staff . The best brownie was meeting the owner MrBhagwan Mangwani. He defys his name . He is an ANGEL to many. He much impressed us with his nicesity.Its rare to find such gems . The hotel , breakfast meets high standards .GOD BLESS THIS PROPERTY & EVERYBODY ASSICIATED
