Very nice hotel where everything worked: good service, lovely and clean room, comfortable bed and good exchange rate (don’t change at the airport!). Cubicle shower with enough strength and hot water, and all the toiletries you need. We only had breakfast once and it was ok, but much better than the food was the view from the rooftop! It was great to start our day walking by the Gateway of India and the Taj Palace, and there were many places to eat or drink close by. Just beware of the shared building, the sign for Strand Hotel is much bigger and it took us a minute to see the small sign for Harbour View. All in all, very good value for money!

There was a small problem with hot water one morning, but they quickly sorted it out. The bathroom towels were worn out.

Very clean and close to everything in Colaba The staff made the stay very nice. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and super helpful. The food at the rooftop restaurant never failed. I wasn’t expecting such great food at a hotel this size. We actually stayed in and ate at the hotel just to try everything on the menu instead of going to the trendy Colaba most nights! We will definitely revisit some day.

We had no problems during our stay. The rooms have safes in them but we felt very uncomfortable leaving our valuables out.

Fantastically comfortable stay in delightful hotel at great location. Staff were very helpful, with excellent service. The restaurant has good food with a great harbour view. The room had a real sense of luxury and was kept perfectly clean. Location is great, just a few minutes walk from the gateway of India, gharapuri/elephanta ferry, with museums and marine drive also a comfortable walk or very quick drive away. Very much recommend! Worth being aware this hotel is the trop two floors of a building housing a different hotel beneath it - don't be alarmed you've got the wrong place!

We arrived late, but the check-in was done swiftly, and we received plenty of information. I found the staff to be very prepared and tourist oriented, they did not pressure you to do anything, and they are supportive of any of your questions and needs. The room was incredible, very clean for indian standards and well ventilated, also with AC. I slept very well. I had a beautiful sea view room with a huge window. The only downside is that the room was right in front of reception, but at a certain hour no guests come anymore and it is quiet, the location of the room made me feel very safe. The breakfast was good, there were tea and coffee available, a selection of local and international food that changed every day and eggs could be ordered to be made on the spot. Staff was always present to make sure everything was good. The day of my check out I had the possibility to keep the room a bit longer - a lifesaver! I thank all the staff again for helping us

This time booked a quiet comfort room. Very disappointed. There was a huge pillar in the room which made it feel cramped. Previously had stayed in a sea view room which was smaller but didn’t feel smaller. The view from this room was not at all nice. Wish I’d booked the sea view room again. The door on the bathroom is dangerous so be careful in bare feet near it or you could have a nasty accident. The door is so heavy and needs to be secured back or could close over the top of your toes

Excellent location with great views

Our second stay at the Hotel Harbour View Colaba. It is our preferred hotel when staying in Mumbai. Loved our room overlooking the ocean, the friendly staff (I like that the same staff who were working at the hotel in the past is still at the hotel - it gives a sense of comfort). The rooftop restaurant with its delicious food is a plus and the location, location, location - perfect for staying in Mumbai.

Nothing not to like. Will definitely book again. Just to note - it is great for a couple or single persons - not ideal for small children.

The location is very good. A few minutes walk from the Gateway of India. The rooftop restaurant has a wonderful view of the harbor. Breakfast is also served there, not very rich but satisfying. The entrance to the hotel is different: basically the hotel and the reception start from the 3rd floor upwards. The room with a view of the harbor is worth every penny. You wake up in the morning with the sunrise and a view of the harbor - wonderful

The fact that at breakfast, you had to pay for water separately. Rooms that do not have a view of the harbor offer a deplorable view from the window

This is a lovely little gem, located just off to one side of the bustling tourist and shopping area. The walk to the tourist areas felt safe and was short. The quiet away from the bustke was much appreciated. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming, and helped make our stay memorable. They could not have been more helpful. The hotel is located in the top half of the building (with a different hotel located below). The roof top restaurant is wonderful both day and night and has a lovely buzzing vibe as it appears popular with locals as well. Are rooms were spacious and well presented. This was our first visit to India and this hotel offered a lovely introduction to the warmth of this country.

Rather than a dislike, just an observation that the pier opposite the hotel into the harbour appears to be a venue for large celebrations, we were excited to see a wedding happening during our stay, and enjoyed the buzz from it. Though be warned that the sounds here travel and if the celebrations go on into the night you may need to have earplugs at the ready, especially if you are a light sleeper :)

I didn't expect much based on the photos of the exterior, but the rooms are actually lovely, spacious and well-renovated. Staff were kind and helpful and the rooftop terrace with views over the harbour is beautiful. Great location just down from the Gateway of India.
