You can't beat the location. Great value for money on the city view rooms as all rooms in the tower are the same size. That being said, the rooms are small, and the bathroom is tiny. The room is more like a 4 star hotel but you're able to use all of the facilities of the palace wing such as pool, fitness center, and spa. I stayed in the palace wing last year and you definitely get what you pay for, and that includes the front desk staff which are much more polite and accommodating on the palace side. After experiencing one of the sea facing club rooms in the palace wing once, staying for a fraction of the price on the tower side is well worth it.

The front desk on the tower side were straight up rude and argumentative when I told them that they had disturbed me by calling my room for a non-emergency over and over right around 10pm at night. I like to wake up EARLY. They called me so many times in a row while I was sleeping that I nearly disconnected my phone from the wall. The next morning instead of apologizing, they told me that they are allowed to call the room as many times as they want before 10pm. Totally unacceptable.

Location, cleanliness and happy fun feel

I go to the Taj about twice every year and every time I have a problem with paying / the front desk staff. It’s like they’re so afraid of getting anything wrong that they assume an inability or lack of funds on the customer behalf. They need to learn that one does not have to dress oneself dripping in jewels to have plenty of money - an understated culture prevails in the happier side of the western world…. Not everyone wants to flash wealth. If checking out could by short and checking a consistent process rather each staff member assuming their own interpretation of how to check a guest into the hotel. Is there not a policy in place…?

We were staying at the hotel to celebrate my mums retirement. Abeer made this such a memorable stay for not only my mum but my kids too. She asked about my mums likes and dislikes and was at reception when we arrived. It was such a lovely welcome with a bouquet of flowers and cake. Abeer really helped with planning what to do during our stay and also advised best places for sari and Indian sweet shopping. She also informed us about the activities that were on at the hotel like yoga. Abeer could not have done more to make this a comfortable and fun trip for us all. We took a trip around Mumbai in an E-Cart which was fun. Please extend our thanks to the driver who went out of his way to take great photos of us in the cart even in the Mumbai traffic . We did the heritage tour with Newton who was really good. Special thanks to Sweety in the pool area- who was so good last year when we came that I remembered her name this year too. She was so professional and welcoming and remembered us too. We would come to the pool area to relax after dinner and she made it special for us. Khushi in reception is new but you could not tell. she was really good and my daughter was so fond of her. She went out of her way to make my daughter feel special. The whole restaurant team were amazing too and my kids enjoyed the teddy pancakes. My mum has said this is her best trip and she will never forget it Thank you so much Abeer and team for giving us great memories! There is a great team of staff that make this hotel so special

The location of the hotel is excellent, it is near the Gateway of India, Colaba markets and tourist attractions like Prince of Wales Museum and other art museums, all of which can be visited on foot. The room is excellent, overlooking the sea and clean. The services in the hotel are excellent, all the staff at the reception are cooperative and provide assistance when requested, especially Mr. Mayank, Mr. Anup and Miss Prerna. The breakfast in the restaurant was suitable for our taste, and the staff at the restaurant are nice, especially Mr. Tanishq. To be honest, all the staff are cheerful and helpful. If I decide to visit Mumbai, I will definitely stay at the Taj Mahal Hotel. Many thanks to the hotel management for their keenness on the comfort of their guests.

Ambience, service, room amenities, breakfast offer - it really was like entering a world that is stamped with the Taj values. Everything is well thought of, and nothing is delivered without a smile. Huge shoutout to the Concierge team who pulled out all the stops to source and arrange to purchase a specific cosmetic brand for me. It was my last day and the only vendor was in Bandra - owing to the distance and my commitments I couldn't go but Concierge sent a Taj driver to pick it up for me especially. This was above and beyond, and perfectly demonstrated Taj hospitality. Would i stay here again? You bet!

Looking over the Indian Gate from the front of hotel room was great throughout the day including magic sunrises. The hotel is stylish including the music played in the foyer as well as the asthetics of the beautiful flower arrangements. I really enjoyed going on the tour of the Palace Hotel as the guide was tremendous and had worked there for 40 years. Bars were fun with unique cocktail drinks. Room was spacicious and the bed/pillows really comfortable.

Unfortunately they were doing maintenence/renovations in the tower and jackhammers etc... were really loud every afternoon. The hotel did offer to move us after day 2 of noise but we chose not to (went out instead). Hotel staff lovely at checkout and took some cost off the bill because of the noise (Jay at front desk was fabulously helpful).

Had a super stay at The Taj Mahal Tower, Mumbai! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, making the entire experience even more special. We had a small leak in the room during our stay, but the team was incredibly quick to respond and resolve it — they even did our laundry complimentary as a thoughtful gesture! The gym was excellent, very well-maintained with all the equipment needed for a great workout. Breakfast was another highlight — a fantastic spread with so many delicious options. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and elegantly appointed. Check-in was smooth and efficient, allowing us to settle in quickly. Overall, a wonderful stay and would highly recommend for anyone visiting Mumbai

This is not merely any 5 star hotel: it is a living time capsule and a stronghold of memories dating back to the days of the British Raj. Of course the hotel is magnificent in every sense (the fresh and colourful bouquets, the perfumed, palatial lobby, the opulent furnishings), the rooms well appointed and spacious and the breakfast an impressive spread to please all tastes - however the staff are a true pleasure to encounter and the gold standard of hospitality. Namely Ms. Prerna at reception for her warmth and professionalism who went the extra mile for us, Mr. Prabhakar the historian who leads the hotel tour with fitting pride and vast knowledge and Mr. Rajendra who conducted a wonderful tour in the e-carriage. These 3 staff are a major asset in an already fantastic team and made our stay even more special and memorable. The complimentary hotel tour and e-carriage are not to be missed: they will make you appreciate the significance of the Taj and the city of Mumbai on a much deeper level. The shopping arcade ended up being a useful feature of the hotel (as it was far easier and comfortable to spend time browsing within the hotel than stepping out in the heat and pollution of the streets) namely the Roli bookstore (a special mention to the gentleman managing this store, it was a pleasure to meet him, Augustine might be his name, apologies I didn't confirm this with him) and the gemstone shop. The ATM was also very useful! We have appreciation for the Paathya sustainability programme and the glass water bottles as we felt guilty about going through many plastic bottles of water while touring India. Only feedback would be to perhaps recommend guests to wear a face mask on the e-carriage tour as the dust and pollution unfortunately triggered my asthma. We already cannot wait for our next visit here and will always consider the Taj Tower and Palace an absolute jewel within the city of Mumbai.

My recent three-night stay at the Taj Mahal Tower in Mumbai was a wonderful experience, combining modern comfort with the legendary hospitality of the Taj brand. Check-in & Service From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome with a smooth check-in process. The hospitality was warm and attentive throughout my stay. Each employee is genuinely wanting to help. Room & Comfort I stayed in a Superior Room in the Tower Wing, which was well-appointed with modern décor and all the essential amenities. While it didn’t have the old-world charm of the Palace Wing, it was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. Dining The dining experiences were excellent. Shamiana, the all-day dining restaurant, served a fantastic breakfast buffet with a great mix of Indian and international dishes. I also dined at Souk, the rooftop Mediterranean restaurant, which offered delicious food and stunning views of the Arabian Sea. Amenities & Facilities The pool area was a relaxing retreat, I also enjoyed spending time in the hotel’s elegant public spaces, which reflect the grandeur of the Taj. Overall Experience While the Tower Wing lacks the heritage feel of the Palace Wing, it still delivers luxury and exceptional service at a more accessible price point. It’s an excellent choice for a comfortable and refined stay in Mumbai, and I would definitely return. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
