Fabric and facilities good

The email that came from Gordon House soon after I booked via Booking.com. Demanded a form to be completed and payment must be paid, otherwise rooms would not be confirmed. Caused major anxiety. It look several international calls. Ive booked Booking com Multiple times and never known of a hotel asking for a separate bank form + payment. .

The breakfast was ample, with a variety of cold and warm items and eggs made to order as well.

I understand this was a temporary inconvenience due to refurbishment taking place in the building; however the 2 days we were there there was a very strong smell of paint/turpentine which was quite challenging as it even somehow entered our bedroom so this was quite uncomfortable.

Clean (Entire hotel including the bathrooms)

The staff give preference and help White tourist more then Indians. An example is when I asked for a second bedroom key, I was told it’s not possible. The next day a large group of White tourist came to the hotel, a gentleman asked for a second key and the same staff member who told me it can’t be done, gave the gentleman the second key.

It was lovely and clean, staff were very helpful and it was great they had 24 hour reception. Breakfast was nice and staff at breakfast were also lovely. Staff kindly accommodated us when we asked to move rooms to avoid the club music from downstairs.

The nightclub below, the music is loud on them nights it is open and can be heard in the rooms unfortunately. I had messaged 2-3 times on booking.com ahead of our stay to put us in a quite room but they told me that they didn’t receive this which is why we had to switch rooms after 2 nights.

Very convenient for visiting highlights of Mumbai. Very good restaurant.

A Well Maintained, Clean Hotel. 1) First off all I very much liked the ambience and colour scheme of the hotel - lobby, rooms and bathroom. Hotel and room was very clean. Sheets and pillows were clean, neat and comfortable. Good enough room for 2 pax with all basic requirements in the room. 2) Breakfast is excellent. Good Selection of both Indian and Continental. 3) Also attached is a good oriental kitchen. 4) Sufficient number of Napkins in the bathroom Overall stay was comfortable and price was found to be good value for money.

Following issues may be improved: 1) Bathroom found to be bit compact for me. 2) No provision of hand shower, recommend to be added. Had to request a mug & a bucket. 3) Use of soap bars in good rated hotels is obsolete. Recommend to replace with handwash gel, shower gel and shampoo in a press type dispensers.

Super location. Close to all the restaurants, cafes & shopping. The Staff were polite, attentive and helpful. Varun, Vicky, Jayesh and Sushil at Reception were extremely efficient & handled the check-in and check-out smoothly. Though the bathroom is a bit small, the room was of a good size, extremely clean and very comfortable and Housekeeping did a great job. It's a well run Hotel. I was very happy with my stay and will definitely return.

The breakfast menu does need to be improved. Instead of having sandwiches, they could have different breads/crackers with a cheese board and some cold cuts. The restaurant 'All Stir Fry' has a fairly nice menu, but their portions are huge except for the soups. A suggestion to have half portions for small eaters like me, would be great, so that food is not wasted.

From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a great stay in a lovely hotel and we weren't wrong! Everything at the Gordon House is right on point, from the door staff - professional and polite - to reception, who were very calm and knowledgeable, and the restaurant and cleaning team. All doing a really first class job for the guests. Our room was spacious and spotless, with a big, comfortable bed, plenty of hanging space and a safe that actually worked! Some people have commented that the bathroom is small, and it's true, but what more do you need other than a clean, functional toilet, fluffy towels and plenty of hot water on tap? The toiletries and bottled water were replenished each morning too. Breakfast was excellent, with Indian and European choices and good coffee. Perhaps most important of all, the location is perfect - easy to walk out to the Gateway to India, Taj Mahal Palace hotel, local market (very safe) and plenty of buzzing bars, cafes and restaurants.

A small point, and it may have been down to my phone, but the WiFi was a bit temperamental. Nothing serious though and reception helped me to get it set up.

Location is excellent. It's walking distance from many prominent landmarks in the neighbourhood including Gateway of India, Fort, Kala Ghoda, Cafe Mondegar, NGMA, etc. All of the staff was extremely helpful and polite at all times. Varun checked me in, printed out maps and guided me on what to do when he realised it was my first time to the city! Vicky too was always attentive to guests needs. The aesthetic of the room was lovely in a western country style. The bed was very comfortable and so were the combination of medium and soft pillows. Overall, loved the cleanliness, amenities, safety and comfort! (P.S: There's also a restaurant / bar in the building which I did not try since I was out exploring the city)

The location takes the prize. It is 5 min walk from Gateway of India and Taj. Colaba causeway is near with its fabulous eateries. Their rooms are dated but are tastefully decorated. I love their restaurant (All Stir Fry). Staff is courteous. Valet is available is such a crowded part of town which is a huge plus. Breakfast is tasty but not elaborate.

Their reception is on second floor and so was the room we booked. There were constant noises during most part of the day. We asked to be shifted to a higher floor which they graciously did. Also, the washrooms are really small. You have to make an effort to enter and exit them.
