Friendly and casual staff, not your typical place. The view is great. No restaurant for dinner but the surrounds have interesting places to eat. There is a decent convenience store 100m towards Amed which is not well marked on the map but good to know. The rooms were nice and big. The coast below has snorkling right off the beach and day beds you can rent for about $10. Staff also helped us by taking me in a motorbike to withdraw cash and by calling in a doctor when one of our group was sick.

There's no actual restaurant but instead a kitchen where they make breakfast and a terrace with tables and chairs. However, they did let us hire a local chef who prepared a feast for us using their kitchen. You can also order basic drinks all day. It's hard to stop in a vehicle and unload so just be prepared. You have to carry suitcases up the stairs so probably not for anyone who can't do that.

The view is amazing. We have seen dolphins!!! Can you imagine to get up and see a group dolphins swim in the sea? From your balcony? Location is great, personal sweet and very proactive. Love this place.

I booked Bayu as I wanted a sea view but to still be close to the beach and to be able to snorkel within walking distance and it sure delivered! The room was large and clean with a nice little balcony and full glass windows and even ocean view from the shower. Fantastic view overlooking Lipah beach and you just walk across the road and down about 30 steps to the beach and fantastic snorkeling. In the water within a minute of closing your room door! Staff were also very nice. There are great food options on the beach and if you turn left of the hotel and walk along the road about 100m there are many more, my favourite for Indo food was Wayans warung, really delicious freshly made food and the Arak amed is definietly worth a taste or 2! There is also a mini mart and money changer within about a 5 minute walk. I highly recommend Bayu Cottages and Lipah beach if you are looking for a very laidback holiday without all the tourist traps.

Breakfast was average but adequate given the the room price.

Breakfast was great. Limited but adequate choice. Welcoming watermelon juice was delicious. Pool was wonderful - smallish but had a wonderful view. The staff were friendly and very helpful and catered for my two year old grandson with big smiles and tolerance😊Good to have a small bar fridge and coffee and tea making facilities.

There was nothing to dislike. Rooms could do with some simple hooks in bathroom and maybe a vanity shelf under the mirror or adjacent.

The building is right above Lipah beach and consists of seven rooms and a restaurant, which also serves as the reception. Me amd my teenage daughter stayed stayed three nights and we enjoyed the privacy, that such a small establishment offers. At times, we had the whole pool all for ourselves. Beautifuldetails all over the building, Balinese statues amd wall reliefs. As of the rooms, we started our stay in the downstairs double room and moved after upgrade higher up into a three bed suite higher; both with marvellous views to the ocean. The upgrade did not necessarily feel better other than because of the somewhat bigger and more private balcony. Otherwise the rooms are similarly comfortable, clean, fresh, all goes in blue and white. Maybe a bit unpersonal. Bathrooms also big and comfortable. Best spot to enjoy sunset is definitely at the pool - or at the beach 5 min walk away.

The aircon was a bit tired in both rooms, so it never really got completely cold, but it did make a difference, so not a huge problem. We did not bother, but there are a lot of stairs to climb. Just be aware, if that’s an issue for you.

The staff are amazing. Super friendly and helpful. The location is very good. The view from my balcony was stunning, especially during sunrise and sunsets. Access to the reef and beach is just across the road. Coffee was very good.

There wasn’t much to dislike. My water pressure was a bit hit or miss, but it wasn’t much bother to be honest. A fan in the room would be nice.

Amazing rooms, very comfy bed, kind staff! We had a wonderful stay over here. Rooms really feels like a hotel.

Location is quite far from the ‘center’ you need to have a scooter as driver prices are high in Amed compared to other places. The staff is very helpful with that. Bathrooms are quite old and the water coming out of the shower was quite poor

Excellent communication with the hotel manager (owner?) Amanda. Prompt responses and very helpful with organising all the we needed. Beautiful view from the rooms and all spaces. Excellent location, in front of one of my favourite beaches. Quiet place.

Breakfast was simple, as well as restaurant space. We stayed for 3 nights and the room didn´t get made, cleaned. I asked one day and it still didn´t get cleaned which was the only real negative feedback. Maybe make sure you ask them in the morning and make sure they understood!

Breakfast was great and the staff always very keen to help and do their best. We were very well looked after and when we needed some extra things took us to get them on their motorbikes. Also arranged for the doctor to visit Bayu for my sick friend. Very authentic and kind. ( the visiting pet Otter was a hit !)

Well beyond anyones control ,the roosters in the morning however ,I also loved that it felt part of being in a more rural setting rather than a built up touristy hub.

Very like the rooms. Clean room and comfy bed. Fantastic view from the balcony. Palm trees and sea. Powerful AC. I was having a good sleep during my stay. Nice location. A bit far away from the center means that not so many people and vehicles are around. 2 min walk to the sea.

It's not about the cottages. They are nearby the main road, with lots of noise from cars and bikes. Cottages are on the hills which means that all the vehicles are gaining speed and noise at the same time.
