The staff were delightful. I wanted to arrange transport from the airport to Zen Inn, Lala was more than helpful and a pleasure to correspond with. The driver Agus Permana she organised was great, nothing was too much trouble. Lala also organised my ticket for the ferry to Lombok and Agus delivered me and my luggage to the harbour. I loved my accommodation, it was clean and comfortable and with it’s very own character. I will certainly be staying there on my next visit as everyone made the start of my holiday stress free.

The Zen Inn and especially the ambience, is an outpost of peace, goodwill, solitude and comfort. The staff are soooo good. They are always friendly and smiling - aren't ALL Balinese? But the smiles in the Zen are bigger, the hearts more stout and the endeavour greater, than in the whole of Bali combined (I'm biased). The meals are to die for. From the fruit salad breakfasts, to the vegetarian soups and 'mains', like the herman gerings, the Inn is the place to be and to be seen. It's in walking distance of the dive cruises and importantly, the ATM and in that regard, is exceptional value for money. Thankyou Dwi, Lala, Kamong and the rest of the Zen Inn crew. The venue invites visitors to sit and relax. The extraordinary wall hangings and paintings are very unusual. The one of the movie featuring larger-than-life images of Keanu Reeves and an actress whose name escapes me, is very risque!

You really can’t fault this place especially for the price. Obviously anywhere at this budget you’ve got to strike the balance. We found the staff absolutely lovely, breakfast was great and the location for transferring to the Gilis was perfect. Our room was as advertised and we got water included on arrival. A lot of places could learn from this. Our room had air conditioning, beach towels and even a little courtyard plus breakfast for £17. Wow.

For a location Padang Bai I would skip in the future. This is not the accommodations fault however. If you need to be in this town early this hostel is excellent.

The aircon works well, sheet cleans, toilet clean, tea, coffe, and you can go to the restaurant to eat breakfast until late 😊. The receptionist is very friendly and could help you to do tours and she helps me with my suitcase too. It is close to the port to go to Gilis.

Zen Inn was good, but in the corner of the main street where is located the hotel there are a lot of people offering transport all the time, so I felt a bit harassed. And when I arrived in grab, the same people said to the grab that he couldn’t park in front of the hotel so they didn’t let him parked there and in the end it was an Scam to carry my big suitcase for money.

The location is amazing, right in the middle of everything but still surprisingly quiet. It's close to the beach, close to shops and local (or international) restaurants. We were also pleasantly surprised to have a tiny private garden adjacent to the room so it felt more like being at home than at a hotel. The bathroom was sparkling clean and 2 sets of towels were provided which we didn't expect. The staff were very helpful and they were doing their very best to accommodate any wishes we expressed. The restaurant had very reasonably priced and delicious food. We will definitely stay here again next time we're visiting Padangbai. Fun fact: I've never seen such great and clear instructions for using the TV and the DVD player, not even in 5* hotels. I was very thankful for it.

Amazing staff! After a 3am arrival from 21 hours of travelling, we accidentally overslept past the checkout time. The team awoke us with a gentle knock (a good job too as we had a boat to take) and said that our breakfast would be ready as soon as we are. The breakfast was lovely. The room itself was excellent, with a large double bed, mosquito net, effective AC and a fully equipped bathroom with hot water, as well as an outdoor area with outdoor shower. Zen Inn is an easy 5 minute walk from the harbour if you're taking a boat onwards to Gili or Lombok. For the price, you cannot go wrong here. Would return without hesitation!

Lala and her team are truly amazing. When I arrived and got stung by a bee, they immediately came to assist, with Lala herself checking on me after being informed by her team. I felt incredibly well taken care of, and it was evident that the entire team genuinely cared about making their guests feel welcome. The room was superb, equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The food in the restaurant was also excellent, offering great value for money. I highly recommend staying here. Thank you, Lala, and the rest of the exceptional team!

Rooms have AC, a small courtyard with garden and outdoor shower. The room also has a TV and the bed has a Mosquito Net. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect to catch the ferry to or from the Gili Islands, Lombok or Nusa Penida. Very affordable price with breakfast included. We also enjoyed dinner in the cafe and on the way back stopped by for lunch. We really enjoyed our stay and can without a doubt recommend the Zen Inn.

I really like this place(I must do, 3 times I've stayed, it would have been more if they weren't already sold out)quaint and quirky, is how I'd describe it, not a square box with everything homogenicly sealed, the perfect place to rest your weary head before going to Gili Islands, or Lombok or on the return journey. The shower is full on, strong, and hot. The AC is as expected cold! The breakfast in the restaurant is to a high standard, as is the rest of the menu. The Staff are very friendly and respectful, and if you need help or information, will help you in anyway they can.

The staff are excellent at Zen. The rooms are spacious and have a private outdoor area, with a table and chairs. The beds are comfortable, with loads of pillows and come equipped with a mozzie net, which, I suspect really upsets the local mosquito population! The rain shower works extremely well and the water is hot, which is quite unusual for the price of hotel. One other thing I really like about Zen, is the fact that being a solo traveller, hotels frequently remove one towel from your room, despite paying the same as if two people were staying. Amazingly, there were not one, but four towels in my room: 2 shower plus 2 beach. Very happy!
