Best stay of my five week trip in Indonesia! This place is so fantastic. I was so excited to stay here and it did not disappoint. First of all, the beach is gorgeous and truly swimmable (no rocks, no reef, no sea creatures) and long enough for a nice walk. The staff were all truly warm and happy to help. There are cabanas, loungers and bean bags on the beach with staff available to order from the restaurant and ensure your items are safe. The restaurant is delicious and the included breakfast is enormous. Room service is a breeze and we also used the on site spa for a pedicure and a massage. Our villa was up the hill and we had a fabulous view. It was so nice to relax on the balcony and just take in the beautiful view. The bed was comfortable, the refrigerator was stocked and the bathroom had a nice shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. I took a dip in the pool every time I went up and down the hill and no one was ever there. There are always clean pool towels on each chair so you don’t have to drag them around. The view from the pool overlooking the water and mountains is also fabulous.

I can’t think of a single thing. I would fly back tomorrow!!

We stayed at Sempiak for 7 nights in Villa Kolo, and it was without a doubt the most incredible stay we've ever had. From the very beginning, everything was perfectly arranged. We booked the airport transfer through the hotel and our driver was there well ahead of time, and the 25-minute drive to the resort was absolutely beautiful. The moment you arrive at Sempiak, all your worries melt away. The welcome by the host was exceptional, calm, clear, and thorough. They personally accompanied us to the villa and explained everything in a relaxed and caring way. Such a thoughtful start to our stay! Villa Kolo itself is one of the most stunning villas we've ever stayed in. The view is nothing short of breathtaking and the tranquility is unmatched. We took in the scenery at every possible moment and truly cherished every second spent there. There is 24/7 security on-site, which gives a great sense of safety. They can also drive you up or down the hill within 1–2 minutes of calling, though walking up is a bit of a workout if you’re up for it! Breakfast is fantastic: à la carte, perfectly portioned, and every single dish was delicious. The ingredients were fresh and everything was prepared with such care. The Laut Biru restaurant was a highlight, great food, a beautiful setting, and absolutely lovely staff. As a guest, you also have access to the resort’s luxury beach beds, each equipped with a fan and power outlet. Such a thoughtful touch! And we must give a special shoutout to Wawan from the beach team. He truly made our stay unforgettable. Always smiling, cheerful, hardworking, and incredibly kind. He is a true gem and a big reason why our time at Sempiak was so memorable.

If we had to mention a downside, it would be the bed, this could be due for replacement. But honestly, that’s the only thing we could think of.

The location on the beach is fabulous. Sunsets are amazing & at night seeing all the dotted lights from all the fishing boats out in the bay, was so beautiful & picturesque. The chefs are top rated serving a variety of delicious meals- Indonesian and western. Had to have the Chicken taco basket a few times! The rest of the staff were amazing, always smiling and greeting you. They are so highly professional & so lovely always there in a flash to cater to your needs. I will be booking again to stay at the Sempiak. Thank you again to Rox, Dani and all the wonderful staff.

Review of the Resort in Lombok, Indonesia During my recent stay in Lombok, I had the pleasure of spending a few days at a resort that was, without a doubt, one of the best I have ever visited. It’s a true paradise on earth, where every detail has been carefully designed to provide an unforgettable experience. The Location: Nestled in a breathtaking natural setting, the resort overlooks pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters that look like something out of a postcard. The sunsets here are pure magic—an explosion of colors that leave you speechless. The lush vegetation surrounding the property adds to the unique sense of peace and tranquility. The Accommodation: The rooms are a perfect blend of modern luxury and traditional Indonesian charm. Spacious, tastefully furnished, and equipped with every imaginable comfort, they provide the perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The Staff: The true highlight of the resort is its staff. Every team member was incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. Every request was met with a smile and quickly fulfilled, making me feel truly pampered. The Food: The cuisine is an extraordinary culinary journey. The resort’s restaurant offers a wide range of dishes, from local specialties made with the freshest ingredients to delicious international meals. Conclusion: This resort in Lombok is not just a place to stay but a dreamlike experience. It is the perfect destination for those seeking relaxation, adventure, and luxury in an authentic and welcoming environment. From the fantastic staff, to the great food at the restaurant, to the beautiful beach and fantastic villa we couldn't ask for more. We stayed in Anak Kayangan villa which is on top of the hill (don't worry they have cars that can come get you and bring you back if you wish) with a pool and fantastic views of the bay. Everything is quiet and comfortable. The set-up of the villa is great with a nice porch to sit on and enjoy the sounds of the ocean. The staff is what really sets the resort apart from other beautiful locations. Everyone is kind and smiling. They are always there to help and everything is easy for you while staying here. The meals at the restaurant were plentiful and very tasty. We enjoyed everything about our stay. We travel around the world and visit a lot of places (so many new places to visit), but this is the first place that we intend on returning to next year.

The only thing that didn't work out was the mistake I made leaving my bathing suit hanging outside and one of the monkeys ran off with it while we were down on the beach! We had been warned but I got careless!

The staff are so welcoming and friendly. There are so many places to chill out, the shaded platforms at the beach club were our favourite. It was great to surf all morning then relax there. The pool is stunning and a great place to watch sunset. Every meal we had was delicious, and it was the easiest place to get vegan food so far. Oh and they have amazing coffee! Big thanks to Husnul in the restaurant and Boyon at the beach club for making our stay so special.

Private beach area with great selection of seating areas, carefully maintained by amazing staff, able to order food and drinks from them directly to your cabana, restaurant also awesome, right on the beach, beach was super clean and great waves. Massage also available by beach, luxury to listen to the crashing waves! Choice of two pools, one beside the room and the other a steep climb but worth the view! Could notice the attention to detail by the Kiwi owner, great to have a small kitchen area with large fridge - everything was clean and well maintained.

The rooms were quite spread out, our walk was a flat walk and about 5 minutes along gravel drive, through a farming area - no problem for us and they are happy to pick you up in a cart. Some rooms on the hill may be more of an issue for less mobile.

Stayed in the Anak Kayangan villa with a pool and is something out of dreams. Immaculate condition, spacious building with outdoor patios, pool deck chairs and lots of extras to ensure we had an efficient stay. Staff were incredibly passionate and welcoming, bonus to have a free buggy service to and from the villa because of its location high up on the hills. Views from both the villa but also beach front were out of this world. Restaurant had a great choice of cuisines, reasonable prices, and all at the edge of the beach. Went during quiet season so almost had this huge stretch of sandy beach to ourselves and catching some waves. Good spa treatments, gym facilities and gift shop on site. Others should experience this resort at some point in their lives because it was worth the travel and cost.

Villa could have had more self catering facilities to heat up food, such as a microwave or stove, as all it had was a sink, kettle and toaster. There otherwise isn’t much else in the neighbouring town to explore so you’re more or less confined to the site, though despite these criticisms it was paradise.

Amazing small resort with super attentive and friendly staff. The villas offer a great deal of privacy, well spaces out, perched on the hill above the most beautiful beach. We felt like there were hardly any other people there despite the fact that it was fully booked. . The pool area was always quiet. The villas are well equipped and should you need anything, the Staff are always happy and on hand to help and deliver. Great and reasonably priced restaurant on the beach. They do very good breakfast and other meals too. The beach club was very enjoyable too, same as spa and a lovely boutique shop with good prices for nice gifts and beach clothes. I'd definitely return to this special place.

We met some cheeky monkeys that made me a little nervous to walk around dusk and dawn when they were active. Made for an exciting adventure for the kids,

Fantastic location with the resort restaurant right on the beach. We had breakfast with beach and ocean view almost all to ourselves, and had dinner there to see sun set right on the beach. The bay the hotel/restaurant is beautiful, clean and not very crowded. These are rare in Indonesia. The property is spread across 9 hectares of land with still a lot of natural beauty and rice paddies in the surrounding.

the resort restaurant on the beach is very beautiful, but given it is outdoor our dinner was ruined by a chainsmoker next to us. We get that folks can smoke outdoor, but we also have our rights to a secondhand smoke free dinner with a beautiful setting. Why does the smokers get to have all the rights. Ban smoking in the restaurant! They can just walk another 20 meters away to smoke in between courses.
