Gayatri is tucked away down a small lane, away from the main street. Hence it is very serene and it makes us feel like we are in a tropical oasis. It is located at the town centre and walking distance to Monkey Forest, the palace, Campuhan Ridge Walk, Sweet Orange Trail and countless eateries and shops. We stayed in a ground floor family villa with extra large ensuite and a large patio/terrace. Love the huge bathroom and the water pressure of the shower is great! The beds have mosquito nets which is a bonus because there’s one or two mozzies at night. The swimming pool is just right in front of our villa and it’s very clean. The hotel ground is very well-maintained with manicured lush green shrubs and trees. The whole place looks magical at night when the lights are on. We love the Balinese vibe of this place and the villas with traditional Balinese architecture. We were very impressed with Gayatri plant-based breakfast menu. Every morning we looked forward to having 1 cold drink(beautiful fresh fruit juice and kombucha drink), 1 hot drink and 2 food items (Breakfast included in room price). There are 14 food items to choose from and we have tried all of them. I must say that not very often we get to eat wholesome, fresh, nutritious and delicious food for breakfast while on holiday. The food is fit for the soul and the food presentation is a feast to the eyes. Keep up the good work!!! It’s a privilege for us to have a long and pleasant conversation with the owner of Gayatri on the last day of our stay. The world needs more business owners like him who places the welfare of his employees, guests and environmental sustainability above profit. Thumbs up for the owner who chooses to place a water dispensing machine(cold, room temperature and hot water) in the room instead of providing bottled water. A big thank you to the entire team in Gayatri. You made us feel like “kings and “queens”! :)))

Amazing property with excellent architecture. Staff is super friendly. Food is exceptional and beats any five star chain. Breakfast was amazing and tasty with great presentation.

This is an absolutely incredible property with classic Balian architecture and art. The pool was so pleasant and cooling. Breakfast was delicious and vegan, let you choose your own from a menu that had Western and Indonesian options! Easy access to walk or taxi around town, monkey forest, shopping. Also nice and quiet within the grounds. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The place is lovely, and the staff is extremely friendly. Breakfast in the bedroom dining area with the view is absolutely incredible. The food is vegan and delicious and the rooms are spacious and comfortable

I would take into consideration, for travelers, that there is no direct access for a vehicle into the entrance of the hotel, but it is only a 5 min walk. This is something to take into account if you are traveling with tons of luggage or with small children. The rooms in the upper floors are accesible via stairs so people need to take this into account when it comes to accessibility

The food is incredible. I don't know why the reviews here don't talk much about it. The variety of selections for breakfast every morning consists of one hot drink, one cold drink and two mains. Yes you read it right, two mains. And there is a wide selection so you are u likely to get bored of it. I loved the dragonfruit smoothie bowl and the avocado smash. Those two were exceptional. Now location is pretty good too. The only problem is the lane is rather narrow so you can't really get a car to drive all the way in. walk in to the property is about 1 min walk though so I think that's fine. It is about 2-3 mins walk to ubud palace and art market.

While the good was impressive, the negatives were very impactful too. First the noise level. There is a live band just a stone throw away and they play from 7-10pm every night. Basically you cannot sleep before 10pm even if you have a long schedule the following day. Plus some of the furniture needs changing. eg the sofa is very damaged and the bed chairs outside the room are very stained. so it is slightly unpleasant to have breakfast by the table outside.

The property is beautiful! All the little details, process and care are what make this property special. Fresh rose stem in a vase by pool at day and candle lit by night. The ambiance was remarkable. The breakfast was served on personal balcony every morning and was exceptional- especially the fresh ground and roasted coffee. There’s a beautiful outdoor library and a garden pond. This location couldn’t be any better. Within walking distance to Monkey Forest, excellent restaurants, shops, temples and Campuhan Ridge Walk. Short drive to waterfalls.

The doors are locked by key instead of key card. Loved the authenticity, but didn’t love to carry around during the day! However, I’m sure the front desk staff would have held on to it for us during our daily adventures.

Our room on the top floor was beautiful and very spacious, with a gorgeous balcony to lounge around. Bathroom was big and had everything you need and more. Breakfast is beautiful, made to order and delivered to your room. Beds are really comfortable and big. Location perfect centre of Ubud, many shops and restaurants at your doorstep.

The stairs are uncomfortable, the steps are different sizes.

I've been to Gayatri three times since 2011, and every time, it has improved. The staff and grounds are immaculately maintained and as a working farm, it's a lovely experience walking the grounds and enjoying the pool. My wife was thrilled that it's a vegan venue and even as a consummate carnivore, I was perfectly happy with their exceptionally curated vegan menu. The breakfast choices are delicious. Actually, everything on the menu is great; you could eat in every meal. That being said, the bustle of Ubud is a short walk along a quiet alley away, with loads to see and do. It's astonishing how peaceful Gayatri is, considering its proximity to everything. Worlds apart and a perfect escape.

The stairway to the top floors of the pagoda building could be improved for safety, railings would be a good idea, and a warning so you don't bump your head. =D

Excellent staff, great vegan breakfast and amazing location for walking around Ubud downtown. Plenty of restaurants nearby and local bars.

The room we had started dripping water from the ceiling (A/C issue). After a couple of days, we had to change the location. The staff was courteous enough to switch to an equivalent accommodation the same day. The bottled water in our room tasted weird (had some sweet/cough syruppy taste). We reported this immediately to the reception but apparently it wasn't taken seriously. The sofa was ok in one room and not the other. TV sizes were non-standard. You do need to pay attention to the pictures and select an appropriate room.

Loved the Balinese style and the quietness of Ubud. A little haven away from it all. The staff were amazing and you feel so welcome. We loved it all!

No hours on the pool - so some days we had kids very loud in the pool very early, but this is something that just depends on the other guests, so not the fault of the hotel and luckily they only stayed two nights :P It also wont be a pain to everyone - I just encouraged our child to use a voice that matched the vibe of where we were when in the pool. So not a complaint, just an observation.
