Great for the low price! Fantastic location tucked away so it’s quiet, but close enough to walk to the main street. GORGEOUS, lush, grounds make this a super picturesque spot! Nice cold AC that worked well (and was necessary in the Bali heat), WiFi worked great as well. Kind staff at reception helped me book my fast boat to another island at a price that was lower than other quotes I got. Friendly staff at the restaurant and free breakfast of tofu scramble was great (I really wanted mango sticky rice at breakfast time and it was no problem to order that for an additional charge off the dessert menu at 10am).

Rooms are a bit outdated, but you get what you pay for. Would skip the eggs benedict at breakfast. Beware if you’re a light sleeper and on the first floor that’s under a room above you, you can hear every footstep of the guests above. Also, shower is open in the bathroom right next to the toilet, so the entire bathroom will be soaking wet when you’re done (I think that’s the typical style in Indonesia, but just something to be aware of if you’re picky about your shower situation). Overall, very happy with my stay though!

I loved the rice field and just the whole aesthetics of the place. The whole scenery was breathtaking as soon as you walk out of your room with that sunlight coming through. Breakfast was amazing - it had a choice of local or western food. I also liked how it was walking distance to the palace and the Main Street.

This is nothing against the property, it’s more to do with Ubud in general. Whenever I travel, I’m always looking for local food. Because of the amount of tourists that go to Ubud, the restaurants have to create a menu for western food. I had to walk around for an hour just to find a restaurant that served local food at their cost (not burgers and spaghetti at an affordable price). I became sad and upset that I didn’t get to enjoy the local food to experience Bali. However, I would totally go back to Nick’s Pension if I just wanted to sit, relax, and enjoy nature.

I loved staying here for the location, friendly staff and large rooms. Bisma is a much quieter.street, but still a short walk to everything. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautifully maintained and inviting; enjoyed the view from my bed and sitting on the verandah taking in the bucolic setting. The rooms are large with great views, ceiling fans and air conditioning to keep cool. Keep in mind it's not a Western-style resort, so the rooms are basic (no tv, iron, hair dryer, usb ports etc).

The older rooms need a little updating, but that didn't detract from a wonderful stay. It would be great to have soap/shampoo in pumps for ease of use as the bottles with stoppers were hard to use/not practical.

Excellent location set in calm gardens but close to centre of Ubud with shops, cafes, restaurants, cultural attractions. This is important as staying out of town means very difficult transport on congested roads. Staff are very friendly and always happy to help eg arranging taxi to airport.

Breakfast at the attached restaurant was very poor by Ubud standards which are generally very good. On the second day we elected to eat elsewhere. As a consequence, did not go to the restaurant for lunch or dinner.

1. Perfect for a get away to disappear and hibernate in Bali! 2. Beautifully designed, very private and right in the heart of Ubud. 3. The staff are friendly and helpful. Plus they have a water cooler at the lobby where you can always top your sipper bottle. 4. Their restaurant is popular with in house guests and walk-ins (I didn't get to try it though as I had other things on my itinerary) 5. Walking distance away from all major places like the monkey forest, rice plantation trails and the Campuhan Ridge Walk.

Just returned from an unforgettable stay at a hidden gem in Ubud, Bali! Our experience at Nick’s Pension House exceeded all expectations, thanks to the incredibly kind and accommodating staff who made every moment magical. From the warm welcome upon arrival to the heartfelt farewells, their hospitality knew no bounds – they never said no to any request, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction throughout our stay. The room itself was a sanctuary of cleanliness and comfort, spacious enough to stretch out and unwind after a day of exploring. The attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness was impeccable, our room is very spacious for 5 people. They make sure of fresh linens, clean towels, or replenished amenities, the room felt like a haven of tranquility amidst the lush surroundings of Ubud. Beyond the room, the hotel's facilities and ambiance added an extra layer of bliss to our vacation. From the serene pool area which is newly renovated to the charming garden corners, every space was designed to inspire relaxation and rejuvenation. The kitchen staff participated in making a surprise cake for the birthday celebrants. Our breakfast was served on time. The hotel staff never say no to our request. They gave us a 5-star treatment. In summary, our stay at Nick’s Pension House was nothing short of enchanting. This place is highly recommended.

The water shower stopped for 2 minutes but resumed after. Should have a big mirror.

We love nicks pension, this is our 4th time booking there and the new room renovations are beautiful. A very spacious room set amongst the most beautiful nature. Endless greenery and jungle vibes yet walking distance to everything in town. Shops, cafes, markets etc. Super close to monkey Forest.. They also have a lovely restaurant attached. It's super affordable as well.

This place overall was great. It has lovely gardens, walks, beautiful Balinese vibe, traditional design and its cheap. Simple but tasty breakfast, especially the one with tofu, and the fresh juice although only two options and small glass. Cleaning and water everyday, beautiful rindik music during breakfast with nice view on the fields. Enjoyed the pool a lot

it has no soundproofing so if you're not lucky you can hear your neighbour through the door and walls very clearly. Bathroom is a bit uncomfortable to towels were smelly, but i was prepared for that

Within rice field, very basic but clean property. Walk of 10-12 mins to Palace or main market. But we liked it as it made us walk post dinner in Indian restaurant Bollywood masala which serves best Indian there at good prices. Hotel has Good restaurant serves good veg options with tofu and tempeh. Has few stores to buy stuff needed. Laundry service is cheap. Staff was helpful with boiling milk bottle for kid.

There could be more hotels at cheaper price. But nothing to dislike about this place. It was good

The room with the balcony provides generous space for morning exercises and yoga. There is a mosquito net over the bed. The room is within easy access to the pool, lobby and restaurant.

The shower water pressure was weak and it took time for the shower head to deliver hot water. The bathtub used for a shower is slippery with slippery step-up. A small bar of soap was only given be housekeeping on the second day of my stay. There was no slipper in the room, nor was there any shower cap or toothbrush. Breakfast was served from 7.30am and so we could not have early breakfast if we had tours starting early in the morning.
