The proprietor, Mr Gus and his family, are lovely hosts. Communications were easy via WhatsApp and because Mr Gus spoke very good English (with my inability to speak Balinese). The room was clean and cool with excellent WiFi, bathroom, bed and living space. The room had wide windows and was very light and together with the balcony overlooked a gorgeous garden and aviary. Breakfast was served on the balcony. The guest house is along a cobbled cul de sac and is very quiet with occasional pedestrians and motorcyclists passing along. A short walk of a couple of minutes into town. Perfect as a central location. Can’t praise it highly enough and very good value.

Very clean and comfortable room in a quieter area of ultra busy Ubud. Lovely area to sit outside also. Room cleaned every other day which was unexpected. Breakfast choice of scrambled egg, omelette, fruit or banana crepe, tea, coffee or fruit drink. Lots of birds in cages around and Gus does care for then. Beautiful garden. We didn't have much information when we arrived and it took a day before we realised we could have a fruit choice for breakfast as the menu was missing from the room. No kettle also but we travel with our own so no problem for us. No hot water the first night but when we found a guy the next night he sorted it. Because we were lucky enough to coincide with Galungan maybe the hosts were more busy which is understandable. If you are staying in Central Ubod this is a good choice as within walking of many temples, dance shows, monkey Forest and numerous restaurants and shopping opportunities whilst being away from all the noise as it is down a small alley.

Very interesting pretty place. Our room (very clean, comfortable and attractive) was on the second level, with a balcony for sitting and breakfast that had a very nice view. The guest house is on an alley (GG Seruni) accessible by scooter but not by car. That was fine; we could easily walk to it even with our luggage. Around the corner on JL Sri Wedari there is a wonderful restaurant called Hujan Locale. We easily walked to the Monkey Sanctuary, the Museum Puri Lukisan, and to the Ubud Palace for the Legong/Barong Dance performance, as well as to the popular tourist shopping market. Across the alley is the Tropicana Laundry, which provided very good laundry service.

10/10 – My favorite stay in Asia and Bali – feels like home in Ubud! I’ve been solo traveling through Asia for three months now, changing accommodations every three days – so I’ve experienced dozens of places across the continent. And honestly, this guesthouse has been the best of them all! In terms of hospitality, service, and value for money – nothing else compares. The owner is incredibly kind, thoughtful, and genuinely caring. He made sure I felt safe and welcome at all times. He even offered to show me around Ubud on his scooter – we visited some beautiful spots, and I learned so much from him. His knowledge about Ubud, Balinese culture, and history is amazing, and he patiently answered all my questions. In just three days, I felt like a real friendship had formed. The room was clean and well-maintained, and the whole property is surrounded by a beautiful, peaceful garden full of plants and birds – perfect for relaxing. Breakfast is included and absolutely wonderful: freshly prepared, with several menu options and a variety of juices. It’s served right to your private terrace, where you can enjoy it in peace – or even inside your room if you prefer. A perfect start to the day! The location is also a huge plus – the guesthouse is right in the center of Ubud, with everything within walking distance: restaurants, shops, temples, yoga studios – you name it. And the value for money? Truly unbeatable. I honestly couldn’t believe what I got for the price. I’m so impressed that I’ve already decided to return later during my current trip – that probably says it all. This place stole my heart – I can’t recommend it highly enough. Everything was Perfect - there was nothing I didn‘t like

It was our first trip to Bali with my wife/daughter, we decided to stay in Ubud for 4 days to experience Balinese culture and choose SuryaDina before heading to the beaches. Airport Pickup and Location I had emailed Gus if he could arrange for a pickup from the Airport, and promptly he had his person Madi waiting for us with a placard and makes us feel so safe, while entering a new country. It took about an hour and half to reach the SuryaDina - beautifully tucked away from the main street and moment we walked in, you are greeted by chirping of the birds, carefully curated garden, pet dogs & lovely family. Perfect to explore by walk to Ubud palace, water palace, restaurants, pubs & bars with live music in the evening. Shopping - one can explore the streets like Hanoman, Gautama, Art market, Monkey forest road either a lazy stroll or rent a bike. First 2 days we decided to visit places around Ubud, Gus helped us and we hired his car with Madi or Gus as our guide. Final day he was so generous to give me his bike a few hours to complete our last-minute shopping before heading to NusaDua. He arranged a car to drop us to NusaDua, enroute visited the art paintings where we picked one, Tanah Lot and then beach time. We had listed the places to visit in Ubud, Gus took care, without having to check on the hiring taxi, renting a bike or places to visit. Food Simple breakfast is all we wanted bread/eggs/fruits and Balinese coffee tea/fruit juice. Lunches & dinner would be exploring around Ubud. Room Love the wood tones, clean white beds and beautiful sit out in front of the room where our breakfast would be served. Toilets are neat my suggestion would be to have an exhaust which was missing. Good Bye Note I thought of penning down my experience if it helps one.

Amazing hospitality and lovely place. Great and perfect location, it's in the center of Ubud yet peaceful and relaxing. Waking up in the morning and hearing a lot of birds singing from the garden is so amazing. The room is spacious, very clean and well maintained and the bed is comfy too. Gus, the owner was super kind, humble and helpful. Very accommodative to my needs. He arranged a private tour for me and I had a good time and really enjoyed my tour. Also, very encouraging when he shared his journey and how he started his guest house. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were really nice and friendly. I do feel at home. Awesome boss, awesome staff and awesome service! I 100% recommend Suryadina Guest House.

The room was large, has a wardrobe and bathroom (if hot water not working let staff know), WiFi, air-conditioning and balcony with daybed and table. The room and bathroom were super clean. The location is excellent. Short walking distance to main street and restaurants. The family is very friendly.

Not a problem for me because I only have carry-on luggage. But a car can not drive you to the entrance you may have to walk 100 metres with luggage. At the moment there is construction on the property but nearly finished. It did not bother me.

I had an amazing stay at Gus’s guest house. The place is beautiful, with lovely and comfortable rooms that truly make you feel at home. Gus is an exceptional host—he goes above and beyond to make sure you’re well taken care of. I got a bit of Bali Belly during my trip, and he didn’t hesitate to take me to the pharmacy and check in on me afterward. He also gave me a fantastic motorbike tour through the rice fields, swings, temples, and more—such a magical experience! And I can’t forget to mention his card trick… hands down the most mind-blowing thing I’ve ever seen. He’s a genius! If you’re traveling solo, this is the perfect place to stay. You’ll feel welcomed, immersed in the local culture, and have a truly unforgettable experience. I 100% recommend it!

The moment you enter the property, you feel like you you have cone to the right place. They have 2 dogs who became our companions for next 4 days. Ubud market and cafes are at walkable distance. Also the host gave us good deal on bike rental.

The Deluxe room upstairs has simple furniture, basic bathroom, hot water, good mattress, good A/C, is luminous, clean and very quiet thanks to the lovely garden. Lots of singing birds in the morning. Good value for money in its category. What makes it unforgrttable is the owner. Gus can go out of his way for you if the contact is good. He says it right away, this is not a hotel, it is a family home. He gave us infos, lifts, made appointments, escorted us to places we would not have found on our own. Out of kindness ans without expecting anything in return. Our stay was a success thanks to him. In this overtouristic town, it was an asset.

The room needs a proper wardrobe to hang clothes. The rod is to low for dresses
