Great room, balcony, breakfast, and staff! No complaints there.

The hotel is on a narrow street with lots of fast traffic going both ways and no sidewalks. It's dark at night and there are no pedestrian crossings. It felt unsafe and, indeed, my foot fell into an open sewer once while walking at night, hurting my knee. So that's the only negative to Swahita and it's not the hotel's fault. I ended up taking taxis places even if the destination was just a half mile away. I really prefer walkable locations. Lots of areas of Ubud and other towns are unsafe to walk so it's a national problem. It might be more of a pet peeve for me at 52 than it would be for a younger person.

The staff was very attentive. They always asked about how our day was going and if we needed anything. They provided us with an iron and hairdryer inmediately when requested.

Uma Kutuh, these guys are selling tickets to Gili T of Semaya (THE WORST, FAST BOAT COMPANY) It took us 13 hours of travel from Padang Bai to Gili -T(not direct because the motor of our boat failed, so we were offered Padang Bai> Lemar> Lombok> Gili T ) PS: I know this is not related to the hotel but everyone should be aware that neither Uma Kutuh, Semaya or Inamai fast boat should be a service to take. It will ruin your trip.

It’s a but rough to walk with kids around because there are no sidewalks and the road can have a lot traffic (but is walkable). Lots of Ubers or rides if needed.

I loved everything about the hotel! Sunarta was incredible and so so so kind! From the moment I checked in, I knew this was going to be a wonderful stay. I booked this hotel at the last minute, only 20 mins before I checked in. The original hotel I had booked was disappointing and I instantly wanted to leave so I found Swahita on booking.com, booked 4 nights and ordered a taxi to take me there. Sunarta checked me in and gave me a room upgrade as it was my birthday weekend. He went above and beyond for me during my entire stay. I felt so cared for and he even organised a surprise for my birthday but having a cake delivered to my room. It really speaks to his personality and how much he cares about the staff that stay here. The hotel was in a quiet and secluded location but still extremely close to the main centre. Everything was 15 mins away and walkable! The hotel itself is clean, bright, spacious and beautiful. The staff are so incredibly kind and always asking if you need anything. The swimming pool is big and peaceful to relax near it or go for a swim. The views from the bedroom are stunning as it us a jungle view with a balcony, chairs and a table. A great place to read a book, journal, meditate, listen to music, have a coffee, etc. I had my breakfast on the balcony every morning and loved the peaceful mornings so much!

On request the staff organised our airport shuttle which was seamless. The hotel is in an excellent location not far from the centre of Ubud. It’s also down a quieter part of one of the streets. Easy to get to the centre by foot - just walk on the road carefully as there are no footpaths. It was easy to book tours to pick us up from this location. The staff were exceptional during our stay here going above and beyond especially with our early mornings- they offered to make us a small packed breakfast of toast, fruit and a juice carton. As it’s a smaller hotel it gives that family feel. The staff make an effort to remember your name. They are always happy to see you and ask about your day and make sure your needs are met. They were happy to take away our broken suitcase without a problem. A special mention to Ferry who was our housekeeper. He was fantastic. The rooms were spotless and set at a high standard. He was always happy to help and always had a friendly smile. Also a shout out to Budi who was a cheerful member of the team, who was always there to help and give advice.

Ubud, Bali, Indonesia -- traditional crafts, beautiful dances, daily offerings, a culinary heaven. Its proximate surroundings includes sacred gardens, rainforests, plantations, terraced rice paddies, multiple waterfalls, all dotted with multiple Hindu temples and shrines, creating gorgeous landscapes. Ancient holy sites with intricately carved shrines, welcomes you to many properties, a land of rituals, offerings, insense burning, punctuated with several enchanting celebrations! Fortunately I saw the Ogoh-Ogoh parades, the Nyepi Day of Silence, marking the Balinese New Year, and the Eid celebrations closing the Ramadan with chants. This city always has a cause for celebration, from its cultural parades, to festivals, and religious events, endless shopping, promoting their unique local culture, standing up to its international reputation, Matur Suksma Ubud!!

The property was very close to bars and restaurants whilst being down a quiet little road so there was little to no noise at night. We stayed for 4 nights. We booked this hotel 30 mins before arriving after leaving the Sungu Resort and Spa without staying a single night there, as it was terrible. As soon as we got to the Swahita at very short notice we got a good feeling. Clean reception with unbelievably helpful staff. We were given a welcome drink whilst they completed a speedy check-in for us and showed us to our room. Because we booked so last minute there was only a family room left which offered 2 large double beds. If you’re a family, the room was very spacious and had a lot of storage space! If you’re a couple then we saw the rooms with 1 bed and they still looked great. Our room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels and bottled water provided. It was as though they tried to get it cleaned and tidied as soon as they saw us leave for the day, so that there was no way we were coming back to an unmade room. Staff were absolutely brilliant. The pool was really nice, well Kept and quiet. Staff asked if we would’ve liked complimentary tea or coffee each time we relaxed at the pool. They were also okay with the fact we bought a few beers from the local shop to enjoy by the pool! There were only about 6 sun loungers but it was never an issue as the hotel is nice and quiet. We always seemed to get a sun loungers even if we started relaxing at 3pm or so, after a day of activities. All the staff were truly great and helpful, but a special mention goes to Agus! He was one of the highlights of our holiday, made us feel welcome and comfortable, and was one of the nicest people we met on our travels! Would recommend Swahita!

Nothing!

The staff were all so lovely, it felt like family! They were all so warm and welcoming, and do a great job every day. They were always offering to help. The room size was great, the bed was nice and firm which I loved, they provided some bottles of water every day. Great view of some green scenery from the balcony. The pool was a great size, with deck chairs in some nice shade. Swahita is about a 10 minute walk from the main road so it is nice and quiet there without the hustle and bustle of the main streets. The whole atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful.

I didn't dislike anything

- room: nice and comfortable. for the price really decent - pool: nice pool with loungers, well kept. - location: I really liked the location. it was close to the main center, but also far enough to be away from the noise (with an exception, see the 'dislikes'. Do watch out as to get to the town center you have to walk on the street (mostly no pavement) that gets quite busy during the day. - staff: very nice. helpful and friendly. I'd give 9/10 only because sometimes this was over the top even. I'm a person that likes to be left alone until I come with a question/request/need. But this is not faulting the staff, it's a general Bali culture.

- mattresses: for me really not good. felt old/soft. - the view from the balcony was onto a tree/'jungle', which would have been amazing, if not: sadly, during my stay these trees were being cut down. So there was a lot of noise from the cutting, and the worst is that the view won't be the same with these trees gone.

We had a lovely stay at Swahita. The pool area is very nice, and the terrace was very nice. Every morning the staff provided our breakfast to the terrace, so we enjoyed it quietly with a beautiful jungle view. The staff were very kind and helpful, and were always available to help with questions and bookings. Mr. Sunarta was very helpful, and we really enjoyed that he shared about his everyday life in Bali, providing us with a better understanding of a local perspective. Additionally, the hotel provided a lovely afternoon tea, and we were even offered a free massage. All in all, we are very happy with our stay here.

The breakfast was good, but it could be improved for an even better experience, as it got a bit repetitive after a few days.
