Beautiful gardens throughout the resort. There is a relaxing and enjoyable pool area. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

This was not the fault of the hotel but the temple across the street had a slow burning pile of horrible garbage, half of which was plastic. The toxic smoke was up wind from the hotel and the smoke often lingered around the lower pool area. We wanted an egg with our pancake at breakfast and were told no, which we thought was a bit mean as our rate included a breakfast. We saw people eating bacon, eggs, sausage with a large mixed bread basket BUT if you get a pancake you can’t get any of the aforementioned. It’s not nice to leave breakfast feeling hungry and not being allowed to order a proper amount of breakfast!

The location is great, a very short walk (2 minutes) down to a main road with shops, restaurants etc. and around a 5 minute walk to the Palace (central place in Ubud). The grounds of the resort are gorgeous and you feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the road. The staff were so friendly and helpful, you can contact reception at all times via WhatsApp and they stay on sight, if you have any issues. I stayed in one of the rooms by the pool area and the view from the patio area of the jungle/trees was gorgeous. There is a mosquito net over the bed which is good. I didn’t go in the pool but there were 2 pools that looked nice. My room was very clean and both the bedroom and bathroom were spacious. Good value for money and I would stay here again.

Not a problem personally, but you could say the rooms/bathroom is a bit dated. The walk down to/back up from the main road is less appealing in the dark (no good street lighting or pavements) but you can manage with a phone torch or could easily order a Grab (car or scooter) to drop you back. On my first night, 2 small worm like creatures appeared on the floor in the room overnight but I guess you have to remember where in the world you are staying. They didn’t appear the next night!

The location is very good, we could just walk to the Art Market and temples. Convenient place to eat just next door too. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained with amazing garden. Our room was big, aired and had a beautiful view. Staff was very helpful and nice.

We did find some pathways to be a little slippery due to moss.

The owner should have communicated that they still are building new villas close to the main pool. This activity will continue till end of April 2024, causing noise and builders running around.

The villa is situated in greenery area, not far away from the town centre. Quiet and beautiful. The huts are typical Balinese style, beautiful. The staff are always very nice and helpful.

However, the facilities are a bit worn out, at least for my room, the hot water, the wi-fi, the air-conditioner, the window … I cannot say they are not operating but not very well. All are small stuffs but make your stay a bit less enjoyable. The lighting of the room is also too dark. Though it is cozy, you have no option when you need a brighter environment. If there is a 24-hours concierge and a restaurant serving more than breakfast, that will be better.

Can honestly say this was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff are so warm and friendly, we were so sad to leave the hotel and missed them on the rest of our trip. The hotel is tucked away from the busy main road and is very peaceful but close enough to walk to the shops and restaurants. It’s a great location to do sight seeing from too. The rooms are large, clean and bright. We had a very private tucked away room and surrounded by trees and nature. Surprisingly we never had insects in the room which was a huge relief! The breakfast was delicious and a good choice of food to help start our long days of sightseeing. We used the spa multiple times and it was the best massage we had during the whole trip. A really big thank you to Amanda and her team for looking after us - we will only stay here when we visit Ubud now.

Cannot complain about anything at all

Amazing value for what you get - nice clean rooms with filtered water provided. Pool is amazing and we pretty much had this to ourselves during the trip as there aren't a lot of other families there. Amanda provides an amazing front desk experience and is always responsive! Breakfast is a breeze and pleasant experience. Location is good in central Ubud and close to everything via grab or walking. At the bottom of the street where you walk to Ubud there is Overall we loved the experience!

Toliets could be cleaner but given humid location there is bound to be difficulties to clean the mould in the shower areas. Not really an issue with the hotel but there are roosters in the surrounding properties that wake up very early!

Alas Petula Resort was perfect for us. The grounds were beautiful - very well kept and the pool was very clean. We loved our room - having our own veranda, the mattress, pillows and linens were very comfortable and good quality, and the staff kept the room very clean. A few tired spots in the shower, and closet doors were tight and hard to open and close. The complementary breakfast had many choices and was always well prepared and delicious - we tried all of them! Amanda was amazing - she helped us with many restaurant choices that were all good, enlightened us to Grab app where we hired a driver to Gunung Kawi Tampaksiring who we were very happy with, and organized a driver for us to go to Lovina. All of the staff were lovely. Suksma :-)

The roads in Ubud are busy, no matter where you stay, Stay safe walking any where.

Loved this villa. All the staff were fantastic and it was so lovely and quiet. It’s such a hidden gem. The staff were so attentive and especially the receptionist Amanda, such a lovely person. Anything we needed she was straight on it. We would go back again in a heart beat.

You can get breakfast which was good. Only problem is l, there was no bar and no full time restaurant. Sometimes it’s nice to eat in instead of going out when you’re tired. Other than this, I couldn’t fault anything else.

A Hidden Gem in Ubud! Our stay at Alas Petulu Cottages was truly memorable. What we loved: Beautiful Grounds: The lush tropical gardens created a peaceful and serene environment, making it feel like a private oasis. Spacious Villas: We booked two villas—one for our parents and the Honeymoon Villa for ourselves. The villa for our parents was spacious, featuring an amazing pool and a lovely outdoor area, perfect for relaxing. The Honeymoon Villa was breathtaking, especially the infinity pool overlooking the tropical forest. The villa itself was clean, well-maintained, and beautifully decorated with Balinese touches. Delicious Breakfast: The breakfast was well worth it. The fresh fruit, juices, amazing coffee, and a variety of cooked dishes gave us the perfect start to our day. The eating area was delightful, and the noodles were a standout! Friendly and Outstanding Staff: The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always with a smile. From the moment we made our booking, their communication was exceptional. Using the Booking.com messaging system and later WhatsApp, they promptly answered all our questions, offered recommendations, and ensured everything went smoothly during our stay. A special mention goes to Amanda, who was at the front of house and served as our primary point of contact. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. Her professionalism, kindness, and helpfulness stood out, making our experience even more special. Amanda communicated quickly and efficiently with us via WhatsApp, sharing her direct number to ensure we could easily reach her for any questions or requests. This personal touch and attention to detail truly enhanced our stay. We hope the hotel continues to recognize and value such an incredible professional. Close to Ubud’s main attractions yet tucked away enough to feel private, the location was ideal for exploring while also offering a peaceful retreat. We look forward to returning and highly recommend it!
