Beautiful gardens throughout the resort. There is a relaxing and enjoyable pool area. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

This was not the fault of the hotel but the temple across the street had a slow burning pile of horrible garbage, half of which was plastic. The toxic smoke was up wind from the hotel and the smoke often lingered around the lower pool area. We wanted an egg with our pancake at breakfast and were told no, which we thought was a bit mean as our rate included a breakfast. We saw people eating bacon, eggs, sausage with a large mixed bread basket BUT if you get a pancake you can’t get any of the aforementioned. It’s not nice to leave breakfast feeling hungry and not being allowed to order a proper amount of breakfast!

The location is great, a very short walk (2 minutes) down to a main road with shops, restaurants etc. and around a 5 minute walk to the Palace (central place in Ubud). The grounds of the resort are gorgeous and you feel tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the road. The staff were so friendly and helpful, you can contact reception at all times via WhatsApp and they stay on sight, if you have any issues. I stayed in one of the rooms by the pool area and the view from the patio area of the jungle/trees was gorgeous. There is a mosquito net over the bed which is good. I didn’t go in the pool but there were 2 pools that looked nice. My room was very clean and both the bedroom and bathroom were spacious. Good value for money and I would stay here again.

Not a problem personally, but you could say the rooms/bathroom is a bit dated. The walk down to/back up from the main road is less appealing in the dark (no good street lighting or pavements) but you can manage with a phone torch or could easily order a Grab (car or scooter) to drop you back. On my first night, 2 small worm like creatures appeared on the floor in the room overnight but I guess you have to remember where in the world you are staying. They didn’t appear the next night!

The location is very good, we could just walk to the Art Market and temples. Convenient place to eat just next door too. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained with amazing garden. Our room was big, aired and had a beautiful view. Staff was very helpful and nice.

We did find some pathways to be a little slippery due to moss.

I spent two lovely nights here and absolutely recommend it. The location is perfect—very close to the center of Ubud, yet far enough from the noise and traffic. It's a peaceful and quiet setting, and I really enjoyed my time at the pool, where you can relax surrounded by greenery and tranquility. The room was spacious and had everything I needed. The terrace was also large, perfect for hanging out in the evening. The staff was amazing, they helped me with the transfer from my previous accommodation and gave me lots of great advice on places to visit and eat. An absolutely perfect place to stay in Ubud!

The staff at Alas Petulu were extremely welcoming and friendly. Amanda went above and beyond. She was always available, even by WhatsApp when she wasn't at the desk. The restaurant recommendations Amanda provides at the start of the stay are really good. The room was big an modern. The swimming pool inside the villa was a decent size. The hotel is located away from the busy streets but is in good walking distance. We chose to walk to the Sacred Monkey Temple which only took 30mins and worth the walk to see all the sights and beautiful family temples on route.

The owner should have communicated that they still are building new villas close to the main pool. This activity will continue till end of April 2024, causing noise and builders running around.

I had a great stay at this hotel, thanks to its incredibly convenient location. It’s just a short walk from the local markets which made exploring the area effortless and enjoyable. The staff were consistently welcoming and professional, offering attentive customer service throughout my stay. From check-in to check-out, they made sure all my needs were met with a friendly attitude and prompt assistance. My room was always spotless, thanks to the housekeeping team who maintained a high standard of cleanliness. Coming back to a tidy, well-kept space each day made the experience even more comfortable.

The villa is situated in greenery area, not far away from the town centre. Quiet and beautiful. The huts are typical Balinese style, beautiful. The staff are always very nice and helpful.

However, the facilities are a bit worn out, at least for my room, the hot water, the wi-fi, the air-conditioner, the window … I cannot say they are not operating but not very well. All are small stuffs but make your stay a bit less enjoyable. The lighting of the room is also too dark. Though it is cozy, you have no option when you need a brighter environment. If there is a 24-hours concierge and a restaurant serving more than breakfast, that will be better.

The grounds were beautiful. There were lots of orchids in flower and lush greenery. Both pools were clean and refreshing. Our room was clean and had a large bathroom. The hot and cold drinking water in the room was a bonus. The staff were friendly and hard working. It was easy walking distance to the centre of Ubud and Grabs easily available. Lots of nice warungs were within walking distance. The photos on booking.com are accurate. This place was beautiful.

Alas Petula Resort was perfect for us. The grounds were beautiful - very well kept and the pool was very clean. We loved our room - having our own veranda, the mattress, pillows and linens were very comfortable and good quality, and the staff kept the room very clean. A few tired spots in the shower, and closet doors were tight and hard to open and close. The complementary breakfast had many choices and was always well prepared and delicious - we tried all of them! Amanda was amazing - she helped us with many restaurant choices that were all good, enlightened us to Grab app where we hired a driver to Gunung Kawi Tampaksiring who we were very happy with, and organized a driver for us to go to Lovina. All of the staff were lovely. Suksma :-)
