I think Kala has the potential to grow in to a excellent hostel after construction. I stayed in a two bedroom female dorm. Very large and enough room for both people the bathroom is big as well. Comfortable bed and good breakfast. The staff that work there are all so lovely and kind as well. It’s within walking and scooter distance of great restaurants and beaches (like Thomas beach). I will be back after construction finished to experience the new and improved Kala.

The plumbing in the bathroom could use a redo as water was flooding from the the bathing area into the main area of the bathroom. A minor issue in itself.

The aesthetics. The staff was really lovely and so supportive. The breakfast was truely amazing. Best one so far from the places with included breakfast. The sourdough bread with smashed avo. They also do surf analysis videos almost every evening. Also as a non surfer i found it interesting to listen.

There are some very fancy wardrobe in the rooms, but no lockers where you can store a laptop or any valuable items safe. I always had to bring my stuff to the reception. Also in the girls dorm room, were no hot water. It seemed to be an adjustment of the system and not a temporarily problem. Also the showers had always a huge puddle, cause the water would not drain away.

I spent 3 nights at Kala and overall I enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly, the place is brand new and very cozy. The location is perfect. But for my point of view, considering the high price you pay, there are quite a few things to improve. Apart from that, I’d like to say that I had a great time at Kala and I met so many great people.

I think everything they offer is overpriced. Maybe is the Uluwatu vibe. The rooms are nice even if for the high price you would expect more: the beds do not have any curtains and this doesn’t provide you with any privacy. They should add them to each bed. There is no hot water in the shower and it’s full of mosquitoes all over the room. The breakfast, considering the price you pay to sleep…it’s not the best.

From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by the super friendly staff, who made me feel like part of the family. Thank you so much guys (especially Rivian!) A special shoutout to the amazing guys from the orga team - Alessandro, Guille you guys are doing a perfect job! Every day, they put together an exciting program full of activities, ensuring there was never a dull moment. Whether it was outdoor adventures, fun group events, or relaxing evenings with a Jamming session. If you’re looking for a place with heart, where you feel at home from day one, this is the perfect choice. I can’t wait to come back! (Especially to focus more on surfing!)

I had the pleasure of staying at Kala Surf Camp with my mum, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm, friendly smiles from the staff, who made us feel right at home. The service was exceptional—everyone was so attentive and genuinely happy to assist us with anything we needed. The amenities at the camp are beautiful! The pool area is absolutely stunning, and we loved spending time there, especially at the swim-up bar. It’s such a relaxing spot to enjoy a refreshing drink while soaking up the sun. The camp's overall atmosphere is both vibrant and peaceful, which made it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I highly recommend Kala Surf Camp to anyone looking for great service, beautiful facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere. We will definitely be back!

Kala Surf Camp was the final stop of my trip, and it left me with the best memories. The location is perfect—right in the central area, surrounded by amazing coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacies, and shopping spots where you can find so many interesting things. The hotel itself is truly unique, with a great pool, incredibly delicious breakfasts, and an absolutely lovely staff. The team here is beyond amazing, making sure you feel comfortable and cared for at all times. Their warmth and hospitality really stood out! I also used their laundry service and was super happy with it—my clothes were ready the next day, neatly packed and fresh. Since I had an early flight, they even prepared some fruits for me to take on the go, which was such a thoughtful touch. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to try surfing this time, but I’m already planning to take lessons at Kala Surf Camp on my next visit! The rooms were spotless, the bed and mattress were super comfortable, and everything was well-maintained. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the cleaning service was always on time, keeping everything fresh and tidy. I highly recommend this place—such a gem! Can’t wait to come back!

Best female dorm! Beds are super comfy & Bedsheet smell divine and they come with a small duvet. Room service does them perfectly daily and it’s wonderful! Ensuite bathroom is spacious and properly cleaned . They offer a mini face towel, shower and beach towel. Breakfast offers 3 choices (noodles, eggs your way with avocado toast (yes!!) or pancakes with different toppings- unlimited granola, fresh fruit and smoothie of the day as well!! if you want cappuccino or other coffees, these are charged extra. Staff is spot on! Pool is dreamy and so the overall space. I kept on extending :)) Waking distance from Uluwatu beach and plenty of shopping and eating out options

They were like family and really took the time and attention to make sure everyone was having a great holiday, so thank you! Your kindness and happiness is truly inspirational. I recently stayed at Kala Surf Camp and had an absolutely fantastic experience! Initially booked a bed and breakfast package, I decided to upgrade to the surf school package, and I'm so glad I did. The surf lessons were incredibly well-structured, and I was catching waves in no time. The instructors were patient, knowledgeable, and made every session fun and engaging. The accommodations were comfortable and well-appointed, providing a cozy retreat after a day in the sun. The pool area was perfect for relaxing, and the pool bar offered refreshing drinks that complemented the laid-back vibe. I also loved the on-site restaurant, which served delicious meals, perfect for refueling after a surf session. One highlight was the surfskate park, where I honed my skills when I wasn't in the water. The video analysis sessions helped me improve my technique significantly. The staff at Kala Surf Camp were exceptional...friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. Their passion for surfing and the local area really enhanced my stay. Overall, I can't recommend Kala Surf Camp enough for anyone looking to learn to surf and enjoy a beautiful setting with excellent amenities. I can't wait to return!

Best Surf Camp Ever – I Can’t Wait to Come Back! KALA is hands down the best surf camp I’ve ever been to, and I’ll definitely be back! The location is perfect, I could walk to Uluwatu (litteraly a 2 minit walk). The staff was so helpfull and polite. I stayed in the 2-bed dorm. The rooms are new, super clean and the beds are really confortable. It includes breckfast ( eggs, bread, and fruts ) exactly what I needed before surf. About the SURF CAMP: Whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer, the techers really helps you improve fast. I was doing classes every morning and also in the afternoon if I was not too tired. The food is fresh, healthy, and delicious, and the vibe is super relaxed—exactly what you want in a surf camp. This place offers the ultimate surf adventure, and I couldn’t recommend it more. If you want the best surf experience, look no further—this is it! I will be back next year for sure !!! I already miss Friday's sunset sessions and the Saturday BBQ.
