Apartment v spacious & well equipped, beds v comfortable

Can understand people wishing to have dogs with them & good they have that facility. However didn't like some people having their dogs sitting on same chairs or tables that we having our meals at

Excellent hotel

The almighty noise from the DJs music on Sat (till 3am) and Sunday (2am). I'm surprised it is allowed that loud for the party goers but for some of the hotels residents the noise affected our ear drums & I had ear plugs and a pillow over my head and could still hear it as clear as if I was in the bar!

My 2 young daughters and I stayed in one of the Martello apartments which was perfect for us with its 2 single fold away beds and a lovely double bed in another room. The food was delicious my girls very rarely Finnish the whole meal they certainly did in the Martello! The staff (Including the door men) were very kind and pleasant to me and really nice to my girls even the lovely black cat came over for a pet. All in all I we will be going back to Martello next year.

You know if I'm honest I was expecting loud music, drunks and god knows what. But our stay was just perfect and it wasn't a one night stay it was 5 nights over the weekend during the Easter break.

The hotel is located in a beautiful area by the sea. The views are breathtaking. The hotel staff are friendly. The apartment is very spacious.

There was no air conditioning in the apartment we stayed in. We had to open the windows, which made it impossible to sleep because we could hear the trains passing by. The windows were old and lacked soundproofing, so even with them closed, we could still hear the trains and other sounds from outside. The hotel doesn't have a luggage storage room. After checking out, we went exploring the area. Unfortunately, our luggage was left near the reception desk, in a rather unsafe place.

We were with our 2 sons who have autism, so going out to eat is a challenge as they are not very good with crowds and noise. That wasnt a problem in the mortello, I asked when booking dinner could we have a quiet area and they were very accommodating. They gave us a perfect little place that was like our very own little dining room, the boys thought it was so cool. We also had an apartment and it was great for the boys, they loved the fact that their beds came out of a press in the wall. Would definitely recommend this hotel , food was fantastic and the staff were amazing.

Absolutely nothing, couldn't fault this place at all

The staff were absolutely fabulous here, especially Lynsey and the receptionist (sorry we didn't get her name) who helped us on arrival. We stayed here the night before and night of our wedding and held our wedding dinner upstairs. They ensured that we got a really great room which had a view of the seafront and Bray Head with a congratulations card and chocolates in the room. The upstairs conservatory for dinner was beautiful and the food was delicious (all of our guests loved the venue and food, as did we). We couldn't have been happier with our stay and would absolutely recommend The Martello. We'll certainly be back, especially for the chicken wings!

There was a mix up with the seating for our wedding dinner where we were moved downstairs to the main area instead of the conservatory area upstairs. This would have been unsuitable for the event planned and we only found out as we asked at reception if everything was ready for the next day. This took a bit of sorting out, but the staff were absolutely fabulous and got us sorted upstairs without issue. So a small hiccup and in the end we were delighted with the venue and service received.

We had dinner and breakfast, both meal were delicious, well presented and served with a great attitude. The rooms were basic and up some stairs, no lifts, which was not an issue, but would be if you had mobility issues. The position was fantastic, parking is limited, so you need to cruise around or wait until later for a good spot. Right on the sea front, we had great weather so a nice warm evening walk along the promenade was called for.

Nothing really, birds flying around your head at breakfast was a little off putting, but it would not prevent me going again, these things happen with wild life.

I love a room with a sea view and that’s exactly what I got!! The beds were very comfortable and we slept like babies and the room had heating and air conditioning. The room was en-suite and it was very spacious with free toiletries to wash hands and shower gel. The Martello have an excellent menu and the food we had was scrumptious. The Martello offer entertainment in the evenings if you fancy it also. All members of staff I spoke to were lovely and polite also. Thanks again The Martello for a fantastic stay.

There was nothing not to like.

Two every different experiences. First was with my family booked apartment four of us 2 children was great apartment room and located somewhat further from the full on noise as sound of DJ yes noise but not excessive was not too bad at all . It was an excellent stay . Loved it Second visit... room very close to the night DJ events and I'm over the clubbing scene stage lol 😂 but we understood the venue does mention late DJ events The rooms for the near 50,s over 50's if asked aged when booking or through booking.com could help reception staff look at room availability a bit higher up than 1st floor...just an observation/ recommendation. We enjoyed the staff engagement, the service, the food It's an absolutely gem of a hotel. My visits are due to hotel being within walking distance to my mums nursing home as I travel from UK to see my mum .

Love this hotel as it's near my mums nursing home and I travel from UK to visit her. More of a recommendation than a dislike .... If booking.com asks age of guests would this help the hotel reception staff to put folk over the clubbing scene age on a floor higher up than floor 1 as floor 1 the nightclub music is in the room full blast until 4am fri and Sat

All hotel staff were warm and welcoming which is a very special asset. Our breakfast was generous and tasty with a wide range of choices and we enjoyed ours tucked away in a cute little private corner in the bar downstairs. Thé différent seating areas on the first floor with views towards the sea are particularly lovely. The range of prints and artwork on the walls was interesting and intriguing . Lots of thought gone into this.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.Although we didn’t have a room with a sea view the bed was very comfortable and it’s always a nice touch to find a kettle for tea and coffee. Bathroom facilities were clean and bright with lovely thick warm towels. We would have liked our room to be more spacious as it was more compact than a normal double room.
