We rented the Lodge and that was very comfortable for 2 couples. Plenty of space and very quiet. Food at the hotel was excellent and they grow a lot of their produce on-site in a lovely veggie garden, so can't get much better. Loved the water view from our little house. Our kitchen was well equipped though we didn't cook much. Nice living room and even a place to work if needed. Great base for exploring the area without being right in Clifden which is very busy in the summer.

Forgot to pack insect repellent, but we just sat inside and enjoyed the view, when they came out. Didn't spoil our stay and would definitely rent again.

Beautiful experience at this hotel! So comfortable here. We had our 14year old dog with us and he got a great stay and so much attention from the staff, especially Dan and Maddie! Lovely people! We were there just to relax and be waited on. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious. The fire was lighting. The weather wasn't so good but we didn't mind at all. Thank you all at Ardagh Hotel for a good 2 night breakaway!

There wasn't anything wrong that we could complain about only that our meal times were very quiet. There wasn't any background music. I like a bit of background noise!

The hotel is beautifully decorated with lots of extra large sitting rooms and plenty of places to curl up with a book, play a board game or have a drink. The restaurant has outstanding food with views of the bay. Our suite was large with everything well planned for our comfort & had the largest beds I've every had in Europe. We enjoyed having robes & a towel warmer in the bathroom. Breakfast was wonderful & we can't say enough about the professional, friendly staff and Bruce the dog!! Be sure to have a look at the gorgeous artwork, many of the watercolors are by Cynthia who also works in the restaurant. Fantastic!

The view from the the room was wonderful.The staff were very efficient and friendly.You felt welcome like an old friend. the room was big and very comfortable.We requested non feathered pillows and duvet and they provided us with what we requested. The breakfast was exceptional. We did not plan to have dinner there at first but then ,when on location, did not want to leave.So we had dinner and we did not regret it..Fresh local products well cooked and great service. We wish we could have stayed another day... thank you to the whole team there

Ardagh House is beautiful, stylish and comfortable. We loved the excellent breakfast (Avocado Toast! 😋), the view from the Restaurant and sitting at the cosy Bar Lounge in the evening watching the fireplace. It was very clean. Nice stuff.

The only thing we didn't like and didn't understand is why no one does anything about the very loud noises of the wooden roomdoors. At night you are woken up by loud banging the door if someone is coming home late. This is also the permanent sound in the morning. This has negatively affected our sleep quality. The bathroom door also closes too loudly. We recommend earplugs.

The hotel was small and family run. It is in a beautiful location about a ten minute drive outside Clifden. It is quite isolated, which we loved and the views were stunning. Our bags were carried to our room while we checked in and the kettle was boiled for us by the time we arrived. We were given complimentary cake to enjoy with the tea. Such a lovely touch! The room was beautifully decorated, spacious and very clean. We had a view of the garden which was really nice. We enjoyed a drink in the bar each night. The fire was always lit and everyone was so welcoming. We didn’t eat in the restaurant because it was a bit pricey as were the drinks. Cocktails were delicious but €16 each. We didn’t mind too much as it was a holiday! Breakfast was really good. Lots on offer including cooked food and a beautiful homemade nutty brown bread. The view was breathtaking overlooking the inlet. All the vegetables were grown in the garden or the poly tunnels at the back of the hotel. There were nice seats outside to sit and a very cosy conservatory and lounge area inside. We had a wonderful stay. It was more expensive than a lot of properties we looked at but so worth it if you are looking for a quiet, calm holiday away from busy towns and cities. We will definitely return to this little gem.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ardagh Hotel. The service was fantastic throughout — warm, attentive, and welcoming. The restaurant was a highlight: breakfast was included and served à la carte with a lovely selection, and we also had a very nice dinner there. The food was excellent, and the view over the lake made the experience even more special. Our room was spacious, with beautiful views and a very comfortable bed. A truly relaxing and memorable stay — we would happily return!

This was our third time staying at Ardagh. It’s a wonderful gem in Clifden. The owners and staff are WONDERFUL. The views are BEAUTIFUL and the food is OUTSTANDING. The bathrooms had been updated since we stayed last time and they were much nicer. We loved the lounge area and the smell of the fire. We loved the resident dog and enjoyed sitting outside with a cocktail.

Our only constructive feedback is that there were way too many decorative throw pillows on the bed. We prefer to not have any decorative pillows placed on the clean bed sheets and face pillows for sanitary reasons.

We had a beautiful view of the water, and we enjoyed watching ponies explore the coast. The easy chairs in the room were exceptionally comfortable, and we spent hours sitting and enjoying the view. We also enjoyed having drinks in the bar (also very comfortable chairs) in front of a peat fire every evening. One night we had a cheese board for dinner in the bar, and it was very good. Another night we ate in the restaurant and had one of the very best meals on our trip. Breakfasts were delicious, and the restaurant has a wonderful view. The staff were very professional, friendly, and pleasant to interact with. This is an exceptional property and one of our top stays during a three week trip. If staying at the property, I recommend making reservations for dinner rather than driving into town.

Ardagh Hotel was in a scenic location overlooking the water and mountains. It was very comfortable with a few seating areas especially pleasant main lounge and lovely dining room. The Fruity nutty bread at breakfast was special and they served a good selection at breakfast. There were board games available. A taxi service if coming to Clifden and the Hotel is provided by Robert and was very professional and friendly. Briar was very helpful in arranging my taxi.

Thought there maybe more walks nearby but the road was too busy. However did walk around grounds.
