We particularly liked the dining room and the view. We own the Fastnet Hotel in Schull in West Cork (Instagram thefastnet1) and we are very honoured to having been ranked number one in Ireland by the Irish Examiners Travel editor’s choice: Tom Breathnach's top 10 stays of 2023. We have sent several of our guests to Screebe House and they have not been disappointed.

Be careful near the water in the gardens as it is extremely slippery and I actually fell and I am still sore!!!

Lovely quaint place with an IDEAL location for a Connemara stop. Lovely spa. Dinner was delicious.

It was a bit funny to arrive at 6:30pm, be told the spa closed at 8pm which was also when the last seating was for the restaurant. Not 8:15 but 8pm haha for a table of 2. When we asked for towels at the spa, we were told they had been used by previous greedy guests. We would get them the next day, they assured us, as we sat in the hot tub. A small note that spa room #2 did not have curtains in the bathroom, resulting a real lack of privacy when showering. Small details easily remedied.

The hotel is an older building and the facilities are very nice, just have an older feel to them. Food was excellent. Located on the shore of an inlet the view is very lovely. The only drawback for us was that it was about 45 minutes from Galway, which we neglected to check out when we booked. So, it was a bit further out than we realized which was our fault, not the hotel. Overall we loved Screebe House and would recommend it.

The dinners and breakfasts were excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The setting was fabulous with beautiful views from the bedroom and dining room.

Unfortunately our room was not cleaned during our three night stay as previous guest took key with them. Communication around this issue was poor. The handle on our bedroom door came off so we had to ask reception to come out and let us out of the room twice. There was no hot water on one afternoon in our bathroom. Staff were very apologetic around these issues and took something off the final bill. We would go back to Screebe House again despite these issues.

Screebe was beautiful, Scenery was lovely. Staff was nice and friendly. The two dogs were so sweet. Food was lovely. Bed was very comfy.

Was very expensive for what it was. The bedroom was nothing like the photos, was very small and basic. Bathroom was small. The windows were very drafty. Nothing to do around the area.

The relaxed charm of the property, coupled with the fabulous food and super staff.( Shout out to Ava and Liam ) make this a really exceptional stay. The hot tub and being able to get into the sea were both highlights for us.

The bed was a bit too soft but that might just be our preference.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Small enough to be personal but yet enough space in the hotel to feel like we almost had the place to ourselves. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent dinner - the gin cured Salmon starter was probably the best thing I've eaten this year. Nice touch to be given a glass of prosecco for our wedding anniversary. A nice big comfortable bed. Very clean bathroom and nice towels, bathrobes. Hot tub with a view of the lough. Breakfast was excellent. Not a TV in sight- total relaxation!

There is not much to grumble about. Our room was a little bit fusty on the nose but was otherwise lovely. The shower was a bit fiddly and while warm was not piping hot. The Spa area was nice but the sauna wasn't working unfortunately

The food was amazing, the staff really lovely and the facilities second to none. The salt water indoor pool, together with the sauna & hot tub a reall added bonus

Screebe House is perfection! The ambiance, accommodations and dining exceeded our expectations. Vida and everyone we came in contact with were warm and welcoming, going out of their way to make our experience unforgettable. So glad we discovered this bit of heaven in the most beautiful part of Ireland- Connemara!

Not one thing!

The welcome we received made us all feel very much at home. We had an excellent dinner and a superb breakfast the following morning. The sauna, pool and hot-tub were great.

Didn't like having to leave so soon. Would have loved to stay an extra day or two.
