I did not expect the spectacular experience I had at the Lodge at Ashford Castle. The property's beauty is breathtaking, the restaurants are delicious and lovely, and all the activities were truly excellent. However, far and away the standout that made this one of the best travel experiences of my life was the team's service and thoughtfulness. I felt that every person on staff went out of their way to think of some way to make my stay better, more comfortable or enjoyable. It was unparalleled compared to any 5 star hotel. Also, the room was very comfortable, the blackout curtains and bedding made for excellent sleep, and the bathroom fixtures in the shower were fantastic. I would travel to Ireland again JUST to stay here for a week. I had to leave particularly early, and the front desk packed a full boxed breakfast to go with fresh fruit and other goodies. I felt like a favorite friend versus a hotel guest. I had lunch in the castle (delicious) and dinner in the thatched cottage with wonderful seafood and cocktails. I also did the Falconry Walk, the historic boat tour, and clay shooting. All were A++ experiences. (and I am never this effusive!)
That I didn't stay longer!

The location is beautiful! The food and service staff are excellent. The 9 hole golf course is deceptively tricky with great views of the castle and water. The boat trip is great and very informative about the history
The internal room design was not very good. There was too much furniture in the room for the space but the staff removed it quickly so that was good. There is no sink on the ground floor to cater for washing cups or making coffee. The en-suite bathroom layout doesn’t provide privacy and the shower screen doesn’t work. Some signs of flaking paint on the walls and ceiling

I have booked for both my friend and I so its a bit of a repeat but with some Additions Location, courtesy of staff, activities like falconry and walking the woods with wolfhounds was magical. Staff coordinated among each other like a well tuned team so kudos You never have to ask twice Fabulous food on the lodge and restaurants 10/10 Especially having stayed in other hotels this trip I can easily say this is THE BEST
Honestly I can’t say anything I would love a private walk with the hounds but maybe this is available we didn’t ask

My other half and I stayed at the lodge for one night for his 30th Birthday. We arrived early the day we were checking in and did the boat tour at 11am. When we came back we assumed that our room wouldn’t be ready as the Lodge had a wedding the night before but they did in fact have it ready early and we were able to check in early at 12:30! We took some complimentary bikes and cycled around Ashford Castle - blissful and quiet! When we came back to our room the staff had left a beautiful chocolate cake in the room for my partners birthday - an hour later just before our dinner, they dropped up a bottle of Prosecco and two champagne glasses! Extremely thoughtful and kind. We dined in Wilde and I had the beef rib and himself had the steak - beautiful food and wonderful attentive staff. A five star experience from beginning to end - the kind and thoughtful staff make the Lodge on top of their beautiful food and facilities! We will be back!
Nothing - amazing from start to finish.

Both Kevin and Rose and their teams were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfasts superb. We had lunch on the Terrace, and dinner in the Wilde ,and very much enjoyed both. The person who cleaned our room did a great job, and the valet was exceptional, taking us to Ashford Castle for dinner, and to the boat trip etc as well as parking and retrieving our car. Very quick to spot things. He was superb.Check-in was great. We arrived about 4pm on 19 March.Best Eggs Bene ever for breakfast ! Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights; warm and friendly atmosphere.Lovely food. Great service. We thoroughly enjoyed our treat to ourselves! Lunch on the patio was so relaxing! Great service and food there. Recommend the boat trip. All very relaxing. Check in was efficient and pleasant.
Alex warned us the day before we travelled, the pool etc was not available, a big deal for us, but knowing in advance definitely avoided disappointment. Check your bill carefully. Get the boat people to call for a pickup before you get back to Ashford Castle, because there is no seat at the landing pier, and you might have a fairly long wait.

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, overlooking a lake...the view is outstanding and the surrounding areas of hotel are exceptionally well kept. The staff were very friendly and polite and also very busy. The food was excellent..maybe more fish choice on dinner menu would be desirable. The dinner was delicious and service excellent also..The rooms were clean ,comfortable and the shower was super. It was just a one night stay for us but I look forward to going back again....I've been.there before also.
No complaints.

We decided to spoil ourselves and stay at the lodge for one night while visiting Cong. The immaculate grounds, lodge, and our room was first class. We had a delicious breakfast included in our stay. Staff was very nice and went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed. It was within walking distance to Cong.
Upon check-out they ask if it was ok to include a $10 gratuity to be split among staff. I approved it even though we already tipped the staff generously that helped us. I had read previous reviews regarding this matter.

The location was perfect for exploring and for a day at Galway races. The views are beautiful. We stayed in squat suite and our room was very spacious and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed. The staff are exceptional- well done! Wildes is a lovey place to dine and the platters in the bar a good option for a lite bite.a cosy fire was lit too! Don’t forget to go out on the loch on the boat from the castle.
Breakfast was a bit of shambles with delays for tea and coffee and wrong orders brought to the table. The staff were very busy!

Staff were excellent, friendly, attentive, very helpful. Unfortunately there were too many events functions which were well catered for but unfortunately accommodation hotel paying guests became second class citizens. Tables inside and out had reservation tags even though unoccupied for hours or the whole day/night. Service for hotel guests became non existent. We had to go to town for a meal it became that difficult.
Lack of service, acknowledgment when functions were happening, all weekend.
