Both Kevin and Rose and their teams were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Breakfasts superb. We had lunch on the Terrace, and dinner in the Wilde ,and very much enjoyed both. The person who cleaned our room did a great job, and the valet was exceptional, taking us to Ashford Castle for dinner, and to the boat trip etc as well as parking and retrieving our car. Very quick to spot things. He was superb.Check-in was great. We arrived about 4pm on 19 March.Best Eggs Bene ever for breakfast ! Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights; warm and friendly atmosphere.Lovely food. Great service. We thoroughly enjoyed our treat to ourselves! Lunch on the patio was so relaxing! Great service and food there. Recommend the boat trip. All very relaxing. Check in was efficient and pleasant.

Alex warned us the day before we travelled, the pool etc was not available, a big deal for us, but knowing in advance definitely avoided disappointment. Check your bill carefully. Get the boat people to call for a pickup before you get back to Ashford Castle, because there is no seat at the landing pier, and you might have a fairly long wait.

The location was perfect for exploring and for a day at Galway races. The views are beautiful. We stayed in squat suite and our room was very spacious and nicely decorated. We had everything we needed. The staff are exceptional- well done! Wildes is a lovey place to dine and the platters in the bar a good option for a lite bite.a cosy fire was lit too! Don’t forget to go out on the loch on the boat from the castle.

Breakfast was a bit of shambles with delays for tea and coffee and wrong orders brought to the table. The staff were very busy!

Breakfast was lovely and fresh with excellent service. Staff were great, friendly and welcoming. The bar platters in the evening were very good. Can still use all the facilities including the Castle, which was great.

However, although we followed advice and went to breakfast early we were put in a back corner of the dining room, people who came later were in the front with the wonderful view over the Lake. We didn't realise this until after we had our breakfast. Surely this should be done the other way around?

Ashford Castle and Lodge are an experience. Everything is immaculate and the staff are exceptional 👌

When booking it was not clear the both properties are mutually exclusive. So when booking meals and activities in advance it would have been useful to have that explained, but also have concierge help with the itinerary. I had to make several calls and emails to get everything organised. It is a very expensive stay, particularly if you want the full experience. I had advised the member of staff, when booking meals that it was a special birthday, but there was no acknowledgement during our stay. The accommodation in the lodge is nice but I don't think it warrants the cost of €300pppn.

Great standard of service and accomodation in grounds of Ashford Estate. Welcoming friendly efficient and helpful staff. We booked an afternoon tea which enabled us to visit the castle. ( otherwise only opened to guests staying at castle ) Other activities such as morning walk with wolfhounds and falconry sessions well worth the experience and totally memorable. Walking distance into Cong Village. A la carte breakfast very good. Valet parking and nice touch with morning paper. Comfortable beds and lovely bathroom. If you can stay more than 2 days it’s worth it to experience all that has to offer.

No working fridge in room. Room too warm. Drafty aircon above bed.Disappointed with dinner at Wilde’s restaurant. Slow cooked beef was dry and tough. Sent feedback to chef who returned a message “that’s the way it is”

The breakfast was a La cart rather than buffet which was a nice touch and the range of food on offer was impressive. Have to say, I’ve never enjoyed a nicer breakfast. We enjoyed the pool which has a steam room, sauna & jacuzzi. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated/furnished and very quiet. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and were incredibly friendly. We will very definitely be back!!

Can’t fault anything!

The team at Ashford Lodge is incredible! So friendly and helpful, they made our little getaway so special. The pool, sauna and jacuzzi are so clean and fresh - it just makes you unwind and completely relax within 5 minutes. The whole Lodge is extremely cozy and comfy.

The furniture and furnishings are a little tired and could definitely do with an update/refresh. The carpets and sofas are very worn and the furniture feels a little old/dated.

Food was superb. Staff were friendly. Housekeeping did a great job. Spa was mint. Lots of little nooks and cranny where you could sit and read a book, paper, chat... We had a lovely stay & I hope to go back.

There were a few small issues - there were delays at breakfast & checking in, and service in the bar p.m. was haphazard. The bar gets most if my criticism. No one seemed to be in charge, there was no table service, & we had finished our drinks before before anyone came to take the previous guests' glasses away, & that girl didn't ask if we would like another drink, even though my glass was empty. Also, behind the bar itself was a bit messy - so I didn't want to sit at the bar looking at what reminded me if an untidy kitchen counter. And prices were a bit steep for rural Mayo - E18.50 for one measure of Baileys & one small, very ordinary, glass of red wine...

Our second time to stay here and it was just as wonderful as last time. This time we got to enjoy the new pool & facilities in the lodge which was so lovely. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. The food was delicious and room was cosy with views of the river. We can’t wait to stay again.
