If you're looking for a B&B outside of busy Galway city, this is it! Mary was a fantastic host! She brought tea right to our room when we arrived, which was perfect after a long journey. Her breakfast was phenomenal with a wonderful view outside in the dining room. She was happy to answer any questions we had during our stay and an absolute delight to chat with. My missus and stepmother were with me, so we had plenty of space in our triple room and no complaints whatsoever. Oughterard is a great location. It was 20 or so minutes drive into Galway city, and you're also on the edge of Connemara. So you have the perfect balance of city and country access from this place. And the town itself, which you can walk into from the property, has all the essentials (petrol, corner shop, grocery, pub, etc.). We will definitely look this place up next time we're in Galway! Absolute class!

Mary and Gerry are wonderful hosts - Mary made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. I had stayed there before with my family and was happy to make a return visit with friends. The location is perfect for exploring Connemara as well as for visiting Galway. The village of Oughterard is charming and within walking distance of the B&B if you wanted to leave the car behind for the night and go into town for dinner or a drink at the local pub, The Thatch. Mary is happy to make suggestions for trips around the area and her recommendations are always spot on!
Nothing - it was all good! I have stayed in many Irish b&bs (as well as ones in the US) and would rate this one as top notch.

It was a very cosy stay, we deliberately booked a small facility instead of a larger hotel and got what we hoped for. Since we only stayed two nights and wandered around most of the day, we experienced our stay at this B&B in the mornings with breakfast. And it was a very pleasant experience, we all felt very good and relaxed, the owners were very fiendly and helpful. We all agreed that their breakfast is one of our fondest memories from our trip to Ireland.

We stayed here for one week as we explored County Galway. The house is centrally located, so it was easy to get everywhere we wanted to go within one hour. Mary and Gerry are fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. Mary gave us great suggestions of things to do and places to eat in the area. Each morning we had a hot breakfast prepared to order. We wanted a local Irish place to stay, and that is exactly what we got!
It’s about 30 minutes from Galway city, so you do need to have a car to get around, but that was fine for us!

A warm Irish welcome from the owners. Rooms and facilities were spotless. Excellent choices for breakfast. Hosts very knowledgeable on the area and more than happy to advise on places to visit and the best restaurants/cafes during our stay. Would definitely stay with Mary and Gerry again.

The B&B is absolutely stunning. Run by a lovely family at a beautiful and very convenient location. We arrived after a very long drive, took our rooms very quickly and after some freshen up we headed into town for some dinner. Breakfast was deliscious and plenty. Can highly recommend Carrowntober B & B

The hosts were very welcoming and very helpful, as well as the little boss maggie(dog) who had a waggle for every time we came in and out, the room was very clean and comfortable, with an amazing cooked breakfast in the morning as well as cereal an fruit and lots of coffee 😊,

Gerry and Mary couldn't have been nicer. Mary had excellent recommendations for where to go and what to eat. And Gerry actually played tour guide - when I mentioned I was trying to track down the old family homestead, he knew right where it was and drove me up there, and swung by a few other places along the way, regaling me with stories.
Honestly nothing - the stay was perfect.

Gerry and Mary were fantastic hosts. The location was in excellent proximity to Galway, and the Conemara area and within walking distance to Oughterard for some nice pubs and food. The breakfast was great and the place was quiet, and the beds were comfy. I would DEFINITELY stay here again, and hope to someday soon.
Not a thing.

Great location, close to town and just a walk down the road to some excellent pubs and restaurants. The facilities were nice and breakfast was excellent, although the breakfast room can be a bit chilly in the morning. Not far from Galway if you want to stay close but in a more affordable area. Staff were very helpful.
The beds were not the comfiest but that’s okay.
