The hotel is in an excellent location, very near to the city, but you wouldn't know it. The decor is fresh and modern, whilst remaining traditional and the room was spotless. Dinner on the train carriages was nice.
The staff in all restaurants don't give a 5 star service. They are all very pleasant, but not at all attentive and you find yourself looking for them quite a bit. We had afternoon tea and we were told that we could only have one round of sandwiches. I have never experienced that at an afternoon tea anywhere else.

Hotel, grounds, reception staff and dinner all excellent - but the service at breakfast was appalling!!
Breakfast dining room gorgeous but service was really bad - No spoons or milk on the table - left waiting and waiting for them to arrive- likewise for tea, toast, butter etc - seemed to be plenty staff taking diners orders but wandering around aimlessly and not returning with requested items - very disappointing end to an otherwise lovely stay - Other breakfast guests near us had the same complaints

The room was lovely. Comfy bed, very clean, and the bathtub was nice. Breakfast was great—a nice spread of fruits, granola, cheeses, and breads to choose from, plus hot custom made breakfast dishes from the menu. Our favorite part was taking the falconry class with Jason. That was a phenomenal experience! Highly recommend. Also, if you want to eat at the restaurant while you're there, make reservations in advance.
There are so many Americans staying there! It was a little shocking to hear so many Americans there—maybe because the property has a golf course? Also, I wish I had been warned to make reservations in advance for the dining experience, but I should have known to. Gorgeous property, but only one pub that's walking distance, so you have to take taxis into the town, but that was fine.

Luxurious hotel set in glorious grounds with a lovely view over the Lough and surrounding countryside. The staff were mostly young and friendly and chatting with them made our stay so much more enjoyable. Breakfast was substantial and we enjoyed dinner at Palmers each night. Easter lunch was a big treat in the Lake Room. We missed out on the Pullman dining - the next time we're in this part of Ireland, we'll definitely book early to reserve a table. Our three nights here went too fast!
Faint smell of drains coming from the bathroom and bathroom door was self closing so we needed to chock it open with a towel to dissipate steam. I couldn't find a fan switch.

Breakfast in the morning room was amazing. One of the very few times that I did not mind paying a crazy amount for breakfast because from the fantastic room with exceptional service it was super. Definitely feels like that five star experience. Room was fab and huge, stayed in a classic king bed. Aircon worked perfectly and easily as well. Room service was quicker than most and really nice. Restaurant was lovely and cosy with great food and great service again. The doormen at the front of the hotel were both amazing too and helped with suitcases the moment we showed up.
Only downside was the bath in the bathroom to step into made it impossible for my older mother to take a shower as bad knees. I'm quite young and even I struggled a little bit. Definitely should just be a walk in shower. Accessability for people with mobility issues takes a little exploring of the hotel to figure out. Had to go around the main building to get into it which was fine but once inside, getting to breakfast in the morning and avoiding steps was a bit of a chore without proper signage. Pillows were ultra soft which I really dislike but that is a personal thing. Just a warning for anyone that needs a firmer pillow for sleep.

The staff, location and facilities were beautiful. We stayed over one night and it happened to be Mother's Day, so we were slightly disappointed that there were no spa appointments, falconry or restaurant reservations available for the pullman car when we were there. On the plus side, they upgraded our room and we ate a very nice dinner at the more casual restaurant and we were close to downtown Galway so we enjoyed a farmer's market and shops in Galway.

Incredibly beautiful hotel with wonderful food and amenities. The staff was fantastic throughout our stay. Highly highly recommend the falconry (amazing experience!) and dinner in the Pullman restaurant, which was one of the best meals I've ever had. There was so much to do - we missed out on seeing a movie in the hotel cinema because we just didn't have time, and there were a range of activities we'd love to come back and try. Lovely resort in a lovely part of Ireland.

The staff at reception & dinner were lovely My dinner at the Pullman Restsurant was truly a superb experience. Delicious 5 courses of food (from amuse bouche through petit fours), with Orient Express cocktail & wine, and uniquely charming ambience (Orient Express Pullman car plus perfect mood music). Room was big & beautiful but bed a little too firm for me. Great location for exploring the area. Wish I'd had time to use the spa!
A softer bed topper would be great; should have asked if they offered option. Breakfast was fine but not outstanding & service seemed a little harried for a fine dining experience.

Palmers? restaurant was probably the best meal we had in our two week trip. I had the sea bass and it was amazing. I was happier with that meal than the one in the Pullman restaurant to be honest. We sat in the lounge by the front desk and looked out on the golf course. It was so peaceful, the bar tender was attentive and we loved just sitting there.
One of the staff sent us to the third floor when we were looking for breakfast. When we were leaving and struggling with our bags, we were looking for a way out to avoid stairs. After going by the same girl twice and stating we what we were doing, she offered no help and never acknowledged us. It was aggravating because we were obviously struggling with our bags. The front desk staff though, A+!

Lovely friendly staff . Beautiful hotel in lovely setting .
Our room was of a very high standard and we had a fantastic nights sleep . Sadly the room had no view but looked into a fire escape . This was an expensive room at €500 . On reflection we should have asked for a different room . Breakfast a bit disorganised and buffet disappointing . Had to wait for hot food and toast order quite a while . There didn't seem to many staff about .
