We particularly liked the dining room and the view. We own the Fastnet Hotel in Schull in West Cork (Instagram thefastnet1) and we are very honoured to having been ranked number one in Ireland by the Irish Examiners Travel editor’s choice: Tom Breathnach's top 10 stays of 2023. We have sent several of our guests to Screebe House and they have not been disappointed.

Be careful near the water in the gardens as it is extremely slippery and I actually fell and I am still sore!!!

The dinners and breakfasts were excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The setting was fabulous with beautiful views from the bedroom and dining room.

Unfortunately our room was not cleaned during our three night stay as previous guest took key with them. Communication around this issue was poor. The handle on our bedroom door came off so we had to ask reception to come out and let us out of the room twice. There was no hot water on one afternoon in our bathroom. Staff were very apologetic around these issues and took something off the final bill. We would go back to Screebe House again despite these issues.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Small enough to be personal but yet enough space in the hotel to feel like we almost had the place to ourselves. Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent dinner - the gin cured Salmon starter was probably the best thing I've eaten this year. Nice touch to be given a glass of prosecco for our wedding anniversary. A nice big comfortable bed. Very clean bathroom and nice towels, bathrobes. Hot tub with a view of the lough. Breakfast was excellent. Not a TV in sight- total relaxation!

There is not much to grumble about. Our room was a little bit fusty on the nose but was otherwise lovely. The shower was a bit fiddly and while warm was not piping hot. The Spa area was nice but the sauna wasn't working unfortunately

The most beautiful place I've stayed in a long time. I had a swim in the lake. The staff were so helpful it was felix and kian. Absolutely fantastic place.

Just more fruit on the breakfast counter please.

Screebe House is perfection! The ambiance, accommodations and dining exceeded our expectations. Vida and everyone we came in contact with were warm and welcoming, going out of their way to make our experience unforgettable. So glad we discovered this bit of heaven in the most beautiful part of Ireland- Connemara!

Not one thing!

Screeb House and Spa’s amenities, setting, and staff are exceptional. As a guest, you are welcomed and made to feel at home during your length of stay. The chef takes great care preparing delicious locally sourced food. The owner is intimately involved in the running of the property and facilitating her guests’ comfort and enjoyment of area.

Nothing, we enjoyed a delightful stay.

Gorgeous old manor house. The staff is lovely and accommodating. The chef is fantastic- the food excellent. The views are of the lakes with swans and other wildlife in abundance. Definitely an old world charm vibe - felt like we were visiting friends who live in the country.

Pretty far off the beaten path. That’s also a plus though.

Bed was massive and very comfy, staff were lovely, especially Simon, Orla and Michelle! Thanks for making our stay so memorable. Great treatment with Deirdre too.

We found the hot tub a little cool in the evenings for us but with proper management and keeping the lid on during the day this should be an easy fix, it was roasting in the morning!

wonderful location and staff. Food was excellent, wonderful sauna and pier for sea swimming. easy access to explore Connemara . lovely sitting rooms to relax read or play games . Very relaxed felt like home away from home .

lovely place, very rural location. Service was very friendly. Beds were super comfy. Breakfast was delicious. Used the Spa before we left Check out was efficient

In the spa the pool could have been warmer. There were lots of midges about but that's not the fault of the hotel.
