They gave us a great room, with lots of space for my baby to run and play. The TV had open Netflix and YouTube which was perfect too. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and kind, always with s smile. The location couldn't be better. It's the best hotel in town.
The hotel is perfect... if we have to say anything would be: It's so warm right now (mid August) and the room was really hot, we only had one fan for the whole room and our room was massive, we were melting. Just a suggestion here, I would expect a mini fridge in the room for how expensive the rooms are, specially with how warm it is right now would have been nice to be able to keep drinks cold in the room.

Once we arrived I couldn't believe how big the premises were! check in with Barbara who was super attentive. our room wasn't ready for check-in, however she swapped our rooms in a matter of minutes so we could get on with our day! I have never had a receptionist walk me directly to the room - this was so helpful rather than having to remember directions! She explained everything we would need to know in terms of parking (which is also free!) as well as booking dinner in the restaurant and adding on breakfast etc. We stayed here during a heatwave, so having a fan in the room was definitely needed! the room was extremely clean & very spacious. Bathroom has a heated mirror, Rituals products (10/10!!) and a great shower! Plenty of towels supplied & very soft. the room is also equipped with a hairdryer, and a good quality one at that!!!! We dined in the restaurant in the evening and were served by Valerie & Laura. Both ladies had top class customer service, were fit to recommend items on the menu and talk about drinks & desserts effortlessly. If we hadn't had such a busy day we would have sat on for hours! We did not have breakfast included with our stay, but we did head over to Agapé across the road which was lovely!
This would not affect me personally, however the hotel does not have a lift, for anyone needing this you would have to request a ground floor room. Thought the Bible in the bedside drawer is a old fashioned touch & may not be appreciated by some guests

Large room Very comfortable bed large bathroom Great Location in Kildare. The restaurant has delicious food and a good menu . The bar and music are just a walk through the door from the Restaurant. Location to cafés and restaurants a short walk to Saint Brigid's Well and Killdare Village. Due to errors I had to return my car to Dublin but the amazing Staff at Silken Thomas allowed me to leave luggage onsite as I was returning from Dublin after the car was returned. This was my second visit to Silken Thomas I'm always treated so well and always made welcome. The bus stop is right out front and takes you directly to Dublin Airport. If taking the bus to Kildare from Dublin Airport pick it up at Zone 16 Green bus 726

Stayed here previously in December 2023 for a Christmas shopping trip to the village which was only a 10 minute walk. We had previously stayed in the superior rooms. This time we stayed in the more basic rooms, which were still modern and clean. The woman on check in was very friendly and welcoming and walked us to our room. I would definitely return.
The rooms are very small and not very spacious. I found the room to get extremely warm at night time, but there was a fan provided in the room which helped. The food in the restaurant was standard, my partner ordered boneless chicken wings as a main course, we were informed that they still only come as a starter portion, which was fine but wasn’t informed that there would be no salad/chips when chosen as a main course, put off our meal and was a bit dissatisfied. But these are only small issues. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

We loved the extras in the room that were not highlighted on the website, ie. ironing board and iron, complimentary water each day along with tea, coffee etc. The selection of Rituals toiletries, re-stocked each day, hairdryer. Lovely spacious room, and the most comfy bed and pillows. The option to eat, breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink in the next door pub/restaurant, as and when. The accommodation which is an historical property which has been beautifully renovated. Ample free parking.
Nothing needs to be improved.

Immaculate location, close to the centre of town. I love the silken Thomas pub too, good drink prices. We didn’t eat here this time but will definitely in future, we WILL be back.
There’s nothing to complain about, however the room we stayed in (31) had a stiff door we had to essentially kick in to get into the room. That is the ONLY fault of the room itself. The fan in our room was broken too but that’s not anything to whine about we just forgot to ask staff for a replacement.

This was our first time in Kildare, The property was in an excellent location, just a ten minute walk to Kildare village and there is also a bus stop across the road which was able to take us into Kildare town as we wanted to go to Whitewater Shopping Centre. The property we stayed at had so much character, beautiful buildings and the attention to detail was first class. We ate from the restaurant and the food was so tasty! Staff were very welcoming and attentive couldn’t recommend Silken Thomas enough. Thank you for a great stay! :)

Very close to the shopping village, literally a 10 minute walk, the staff in the hotel were literally exceptional, so friendly and welcoming, honestly couldn’t fault anything. Rooms were small but spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic and good value for money and with live entertainment in the pub next door we didn’t need to walk far after dinner, which was also delicious!! We’ll definitely be back!!
I’d have loved there to have been a bath (we had a particularly long drive) in the room, the shower was great but the bathroom floor got quite wet, otherwise everything was perfect

Room very well presented and comfortable bed with everything you need for a short stay. Handy to the town Center and all the amenities including Kildare Shopping Village 5min drive away. Silkin Thomas has everything you need and all the staff very helpful and friendly. I’ve stayed before and will stay again.
Not the hotel’s fault but rowdy group of females in room next door kept me awake until 2am .. Not great when getting up early for a race following day. But after Swift bang on the wall they did quiet down.

Absolutely everything. At first I was hesitant as the rooms weren’t in the same building as the bar and restaurant but the rooms were beautiful I really didn’t mind. Our trip was for a 40th birthday and the staff really went out of there way when we had dropped in the cake before dinner. They asked the birthday girls name and description which I thought was a very personal touch and nowhere’s ever done it before. Food in the restaurant was beautiful, we couldn’t find a fault with any of the dishes. And lastly the staff. Every single member of staff from the moment we checked in was a delight. They were very accommodating and even reserved a table in the bar for us while we were still having dinner in the restaurant. A place I will definitely return to
That I had only booked in for the one night and a not two 🤣
