Nineteenth century house full of character with some nice quirky touches. Beautiful view from bedroom window and I lovely comfortable bed. Great location in spectacular Connemara with stunning beach on doorstep. John, the host, is informative and incredibly kind. He assisted me greatly which contributed a lot to the success and enjoyment of this leg of my trip.
I loved everything about my stay at Castlehouse but if you like a modern, glitzy interior then it won't be for you.

Fantastic breakfast. The owner, John, greeted everyone each morning and was very helpful with suggestions for walks in the area. There was a kettle in the room and tea and coffee provided. Fabulous restaurant with great food in the next village, which John reserved for us the first night.

John is an exceptional host. The B&B is very comfortable, clean and the location is great. We had a room with a beautiful view of the ocean and the mountains on the back. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere was really nice. Quiet place, we had a great night. The breakfast is traditional with good choices for everybody. It was a very comfortable and nice experience. Thank you!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Castlehouse. The rooms are cozy and warm and the hospitality of John is exceptional. The breakfast was amazing and with the fireplace going you didn’t want to leave that room. The B&B is close to the beach and the pub is only minutes walk away. It is also close to the National Park which makes it a great place to stay for hiking the area.

If you want to experience the rural westcoast of Ireland, you're absolutely right here. The house has a long history going back to the host John's grandpa. The rooms are cosy and if you're lucky like us, you can see the Atlantic ocean from your window. The breakfast was nice and filling, the rooms and bathrooms had everything from a kettle and tea, over a hairdryer and shower gel. John was a very kind and helpful host. He suggested several hiking trails and nice spots near Tully. Tullycross, the next village has a small shop near the B&B, two pubs and a sit-down chipper. We were warmly welcomed in one of the pubs where we also met John and always felt welcome.

Although we stayed in the two bedroom apartment which was very comfortable we had breakfast in the main house which was delightful. If you want to stay in a house which makes you feel like you have gone back in time this is for you Breakfast freshly cooked and delicious.

Breakfasts were typ full Irish, which we asked for half the meat, twice the eggs (which they did and suited our tastes just fine). Very nice staff of 3, close to Canamerra nat. park and other sights. Very good location. Special shout out to Molly's Pub and Clover Fox Seafood restaurant directly across - both nearby in Letterfrack.
Not that it's better or worse but note that it is an older building which may be a plus for some.

We had a lovely stay in February. Beautiful location with great beaches near by and a free bus in the evening to the pub. John is a brilliant and helpful host, his breakfast is always fantastic and our bedroom was lovely and warm.

Traditional B&B in Connemara. Simple but good. Interior is a bit older but well maintained. There is a supermarket across the street and two pubs in the next village, approx. 15 min by foot. John is a very friendly host and does an excellent breakfast.

Breakfast was lovely and good choice . John was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. In a lovely location close to everything .
The view from bedroom was not great - overlooking the flat roof as our room was at the side . The front bedrooms would have had lovely scenic views.
