Do not think it’s appropriate to be housing refugees at the same time as paying guests.

I liked the old style class of the place, must have been pretty classy in its day, lots of polished wood everywhere. Drink and meal prices were reasonable. And breakfast was great value for 10eu.

Hate to bring it up but there was no toilet brush.

For single traveller, room 215 was lovely, good insulation from traffic noise. king size bed and everything worked - newly appointed bathroom immaculate. . big shower,, but no bathtub. Reception staff very helpful and friendly with booking a taxi and tickets for Mount Congreve gdns.

breakfast bacon (tough)and sausages fairly tasteless. However, ham and cheese omlette made for me next morning was perfect. porridge was appreciated and fruit salad was good. Price I paid was almost the same as for a couple staying together!! (A couple i met even had evening meal included!!) Price for a single OAP should not be so high.

Stay at hotel was fantastic and bar manager couldn't do enough for outer large group

Young bar staff did not want to be there, when separated from their chatty group, they had an attitude when asked to serve... music finished way too early, like 11.30 in Saturday night

Very good hotel, centrally located, easy check in with friendly staff. Room was lovely, very clean and newly renovated, even had ironing equipment which was handy. Wifi worked fine, parking is 5min walk from the hotel, but free in Aldi Shopping centre. Thanks to the location it was easy to walk around the town centre.

The only minus was that room was too hot as the heating didnt react to sensor on the wall when set to lower temp. I had to sleep with opened window which wasn't the most comfy experience due to noise from the busy street below.Except that litlle issue I would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff were great. I went in at 11:30am to ask where would be best to park until i could check in later on and the guy on reception completely unprompted said he’d check if my room was ready which it was so he gave me my room keys and told me where to park so i didn’t need to pay. The location is great to, right on the quayside and a short walk to all of the shops & pubs etc. I’d read on previous reviews that the place is a bit dated which it was but it isn’t dirty or run down. Breakfast was great to, plenty to choose from & all looked fresh.

Maybe the toast situation? It’s a bit odd the staff have to make your toast for you but to be honest yet again all of the staff were polite and a few asked if i wanted some as soon as i was in there.

The staff were very friendly. The shower was hot with high pressure. The room was comfortable and clean, the bar stayed open late and the live music was good without being so loud that you can't make out what's being sung.

I heard from members of the family that got breakfast later (I was there as soon as the room opened) that the quality of the breakfast declined significantly. I thought it was excellent, worth the money. They said that later on, the quality was much lower, selection was not good, and staff were not working as expected. (For example, I had been told if I wanted toast, to ask a member of staff, and that was fine. The family were told the same, but were not able to get any staff to get toast. Seemed odd.

5 minutes' walk across the bridge from Waterford train station and located right next to the river, of which I had a wonderful view. Ten minutes' walk to town centre. The accommodation is above a lively bar with regular music which catered to a more mature crowd, and the audience was not rowdy. I was on first floor and had no disturbance from the bar below. Main selling feature of this venue is the use of the swimming pool & spa as part of room booking! It's a decent length pool (20m?) and use of sauna & steam room. Self-service breakfast available and a might fine breakfast it was too!

It was a very, very busy bar and took a while to get served after a long train journey. The pub over the road was quicker service, very nice too & incredibly friendly.
