John and Mary were absolutely lovely! Wonderful hosts. Unobtrusive, but always available if we needed recommendations on where to go or help with dinner reservations. We booked 3 rooms for our family vacation, and each one was fantastic. Nice sized rooms with very comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, and - our favorite - comfortable recliner chairs in all of our rooms! Perfect for relaxing in the evenings after sightseeing in nearby Cork and Cobh. We loved walking along the sea in Youghal, and walking to different restaurants for dinner. I can't close without mentioning the delicious breakfasts - ok, they were our favorite thing at the Avonmore! We loved the morning yogurt with berry compote and the hot menu selections. We each had a favorite - the ham, cheese & onion omelet, the smoked salmon with perfectly scrambled eggs, and the sourdough pancakes. All are missed now that we're home. You must try John's soda bread with jam. Yum! We would definitely stay there again.

They went above and beyond.. taking care of us in ways that felt like a loving parent and life-long friend; cooking of the highest BnB quality (even prepared for us for our 3AM departure), Amazing recommendations all over town, great stories and unending kindness. Very well maintained and organised. Location is very close to all the amenities in town. The host, Mr. John, made me feel very much at home and was kind and extremely welcoming, he was the first person I spoke with as soon as I came to Youghal and I immediately fell in love with the place and its people. I enjoyed every bit of my stay at this place. The room was very comfortable and after a tiresome day I would immediately fall asleep peacefully given the warm and serene ambience of the surroundings, I had the most memorable first time in Youghal and will definitely return again someday, I highly recommend this place.

This was a great choice for us for a 3 night stay. Good location, easy to find and very central for what we wanted to do in the area. On arrival, we had a very warm welcome from Mary. Check in was easy and we were shown to room 2, beautiful. Big bed, excellent quality. Whirlpool bath and separate shower in the large bathroom. Everything was spotless and nicely styled, we loved the artwork in our room, and throughout the house (Mary also being the artist in residence!) Breakfasts were sensational, very generous and beautifully presented by John ( a graduate from Ballymaloe Cookery School) The hosts were really helpful with where to eat and places to visit too. These guys are a terrific double act, and make this place work beyond what one might expect from a b&b. We would definitely recommend Avonmore House.

Fantastic location, minutes walk from the centre. Mary was there to welcome us even though we were very early for check-in. She was so knowledgeable about the area and such a brilliant host. The room was clean and spacious with a lovely seated area in front of the TV. Tea and coffee facilities were also provided and a fridge. The bed was also very comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

There was nothing I didn't like. The breakfast isn't included in the price so there is an extra charge for that, however the breakfast was lovely and John's homemade bread was very moreish!

My self and my husband stayed for 2nights at this beautiful guest house ..hosts John and Mary so lovely and made us feel so welcome..we stayed in bedroom 3..the bed was so comfortable as was the pillows...very quiet home and guests were so quiet .the dining area for breakfast was so cozy.and we enjoyed the most tasty breakfast with sourdough pancakes .homemade breads and lovely tasty extras .orange juice was from freshly squeezed oranges .a most lovely stay here and we highly recommend a visit ..John and Mary thank you a pleasure to have met you both .Susan and Vinny xx

Mary and John went above and beyond to make their guests experience a good one. They had amazing attention to detail and the room , bed and food were first class. It was a very homely ,relaxed atmosphere as well as a very efficient one! Thank you, we loved Avonmore House and Mary and John worked very hard to make the experience great.

Absolutely amazing! Mary and John went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. I loved my stay and I'm sure that I'll be back :-) Lovely and comfortable room, great bed, very clean and spacious. Breakfast was just fantastic and the location is perfect - very walkable and close to everything.

Excellent accommodation. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, with a great attention to detail. Great water pressure in the shower, which is unusual and bathroom fully equipped. Great breakfast, very well served, even too abundant.

There is nothing that I did not like. If I have to find room for improvement I'd suggest to place a few rubber stopper at the shower door, which tends to close abruptly always giving the fear it may shatter.
