We turned up after 10pm on a Saturday night but we were well looked after. We were just in time to order room service as we were tired after a long journey and didn't want to go out. The breakfast was good in a nice, simple room overlooking the sea. (Not as good as the Villa Igiea in Palermo by which we now compare to other properties.) The bedroom was lovely. A big comfy bed and a great bathroom with a huge bath (big enough for 2). Lovely view from the balcony of our room overlooking the sea. Location was great - minutes from the sights.

It was all very expensive. Euro 380 for the room per night, euro 50 to have the car parked each night as there was no car park, euro 25 for a g&t in the rooftop bar - That sort of thing.

We had a very warm welcome from Luisa Z and during all our stay she solved all of our problems and helped us a lot. Of course, we like the property and especially its location but I think without Luisa our staying there wouldn’t be so incredible. I wanna also mention breakfast here - really delicious with nice view. I definitely recommend this hotel everybody who gonna visit Siracusa and you will be very lucky if Luisa will work these days because she is amazing.

Wonderful stay. Great location of the hotel and great standing. Personnel was super helpful in making us recommendations, in particular restaurants around.

Ask for a room located in the first building. The rooms in the other one are located close to a bar that can be noisy when they turn the music on to the maximum.

My stay at Grand Hotel Des Étrangers was nothing short of perfection. From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable, with the staff making me feel truly welcomed and cared for. The hotel itself is stunning, combining classic elegance with modern comforts. My room was beautifully appointed, spacious, and spotlessly clean, offering breathtaking views of the sea. The location is ideal, within walking distance of the best attractions, yet wonderfully peaceful. The breakfast buffet was a delight, featuring a wide selection of delicious options. This is truly a 5-star experience, and I can't wait to return!

The location of this hotel is outstanding. It has a fabulous view of the harbor, and is very close to several outstanding restaurants. It is close walking distance to most of the important sights on Ortigia. Our room was very comfortable. The view from the rooftop terrace/var is world class. But the best part of the hotel is the excellent staff. They are most helpful, and make guests feel very welcome. We would definitely stay here again, happily.

There could be a better choice of bed pillows.

When you are in this HOtel , it is like you are in Paradise. The Location is stunning!!! IT´s in the centre of Ortigia with an amazing view! The interiors are meticolusly choose. The breakfast is every day different but always the sicilian specialities available. The food is super fresh and the variety and the attention to the quantity and the details is incredible great! The room? Never ever slept in a room sea view like this!!! takes your breath away for everything!!! The staff? This makes the difference! Director and all his stuff are highly professional, welcoming, warm, helpful, friendly people, they put always you and your family in the centre of the attention!!!! EXCELLENT Experience!! To try at least once in your life! :)

I had a bad experience during my check out as I was charged twice for an additional night I had reserved directly with the hotel. They asked my credit card upon checkin but I did not know I was already charged for the additional night and at check out, the presented the bill with the charge for one more night but without discounting the amount already paid, which I was not aware. It was really annoying, and I’m now waiting for the correction and refund to my credit card that as I was told can take few days. Let’s see how it goes. Also, I waited for more than 1 hour for my car, when I was in rush to head to the airport. The car was in the valet service (also expensive considering 50 euros/ day - in Taormina I paid 25/day at a very luxury hotel) when it was supposed to take 30/40 minutes.

The location was perfect just so long as you arrive by taxi - dont even think about taking a car. You can walk everywhere in the town and getting onto the Syracuse side is fairly easy by public transport. The breakfast was OK, but could have been better if the selections on offer had been regularly replenished. The roof top restaurant and bar area was a great place to unwind.

The value for money equation never quite works out with this sort of establishment. Our room was very nicely done, but it was fortunate we did not bring a cat with us, as we would not have been able to swing it in the space afforded by our room.

Rarely does a property of this exceptional calibre come along that exceeds all expectations along the way and keeps delivering moire each day. Our stay at this hotel was absolutely beautiful in every sense of the word - from the personal service, amazing facilities and sophisticated aesthetics! Just stunning from the very moment you step into the beautiful mosaic entrance, The property was very tastefully renovated with designer fittings and furnishings (opened only a few months ago) with the pool and spa to open next year. Overall look and feel is very high-end luxury though relaxed, refined and understated - feels more like a residence than a hotel. Attention to detail in every aesthetic and functional aspect of the common areas of the property as well as our room. The room was luxurious and spacious with a gorgeous sea view, included a safe that actually works, lots of hanging space, tea and coffee making facilities. The spectacular marble bathroom with double vanity had ample room to accommodate personal toiletries. Amazing location of the hotel right on the water and literally steps away from the historic centre of town with restaurant, shops etc. The staff were incredible and provided personal, personal service- always attentive, warm and welcoming and helpful. Moreno and Monica on the front desk were the best, as well as Carla and Eva each morning in the breakfast salon - friendly, caring yet not obtrusive. The breakfast variety was out of this world- buffet and a la carte (for hot dishes prepare to order), everything was super-fresh, amazing quality with traditional Sicilian sweet and savoury options thrown in for good measure. We also enjoyed aperitivo one evening in the hotel lounge and terrace, views to die for. We just LOVED our stay and cannot wait to return to this property and Ortigia itself!!

The fact we had to leave to move onto our next destination!!

The hotel is beautiful and historic. Everything is unbelievably clean and every little detail has been thought about. The staff was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, especially when we needed to get medical care. Staff helped us find where to go at 10pm on a Saturday. Breakfast was fantastic too with lots of choices. This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The pool is also relaxing and beautiful with amazing views.
