Very classy small hotel, characterful rooms with antique furnishings, and very pleasant and comfortable communal areas. Located on the Via Roma, one of the main shopping streets, and very central, but the rooms were at the rear of the building so noise was not a problem. Staff were very friendly and helpful; the lady on the reception phoned several restaurants to find a table for dinner that evening, all full, before eventually booking me into an excellent restaurant (she also recommended another excellent restaurant where I dined the following evening). Breakfast on the terrace was an added bonus, although I felt the choice could be a bit more varied - the only cooked option was boiled eggs.

That there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. Not sure if this had to do with insurance in an old building, but it is something most hotels and B&Bs offer nowadays

What a beautiful restoration and perfect location! Anna and Daniel took good care of us, serving us beautiful breakfasts on the terrace. Anna helped us make wonderful dinner reservations.

I absolutely loved the location! It was perfect within walking distance to everything. Above all, we really loved our receptionist Ana! She not only checked us in but went above and beyond to explain the facility, help us and coordinating parking in advance, called and made us a reservation at her favorite restaurant, helped us with our baggage and even recommended a place for cocktails for apperitivo! She was absolutely fantastic! <3 We were surprised to see she was also hosting breakfast in the morning as well which was also very delightful. It’s on a sunset terrace. That was just the perfect start to our day. I would recommend this hotel.

I wouldn’t say these are complaints, but there aren’t any elevators within the facility. It’s a very old building and because of that it’s charm is hard to beat. I did notice. We ran out of hot water at one point, and our room didn’t have a shower, but rather a bath, but we didn’t mind. The room was gorgeous!

La Maison was so elegant. A true gem in Syracuse. We booked at the last minute but staff were very accommodating. While they provided us with plenty of recommendations for dining exerting we stumbled across in Ortigia was great. I loved being on one of the main streets of the old town, Ortigia, but it didn't feel too busy. The person who did the fixtures and fittings in the rooms had impeccable old worldy taste.

A beautiful bath was the anchor in the opulent bathroom, but no fitting for the shower which made a bit of a mess and an unnecessary struggle for the weary traveller

It took us ages to choose which hotel to stay at on Ortigia. We found most hotels that we could afford that faced the water were ugly. And so we landed on La Maison and really - couldn't have been happier. The hotel is dead-centre of the island. It is low-key but completely charming retaining many beautiful, original features. The proportion of our our room was very generous with a balcony facing the street to watch the world go by. Daniel was an excellent communicator and helped us with parking nearby.

La Maison had a charm about it that made us feel like we were in Sicily even though we arrived late at night. The bed was very comfortable and the terrace for breakfast provided the perfect start to our vacation!

We ended up driving for about 1 1/2 hours trying to find the parking as it is not well identified (it is just a door and the parking notice is inside the ramp so very difficult to see). This meant we missed enjoying Ortigia for the evening. There is no elevator and the stairs are narrow with limited lighting when you arrive late at night.

Very warm and well-decorated boutique hotel in one of the most central streets of Ortigia. The room and the bed was comfortable. The staff was super friendly, helpful and always available. Really enjoyed my stay!

Maybe the room was a little too small for a couple with quite a bit of luggage. For the girls: the bathroom lighting was not good enough to put on make-up and actually see what you are doing. Especially the dark wall colour in combination with a lack of lighting made this very difficult. For early birds, breakfast may start a little late, around 8:30 a.m.

Daniele and Ana were outstanding at making us feel relaxed and taking the time to give us an overview of ortigia. Ana made recommendations and booked dinner for us twice. They checked we were being looked after with our parking. They were absolutely perfect hosts. The accommodation is perfectly located for exploring ortigia. Don't forget the hop on and off red bus for 10 euro. We had a deluxe double without bath. Lovely room. Modern bathroom. Great shower. Thank you Daniele and Ana

Gorgeous old but beautifully restored building. The position of the hotel was brilliant - inside the gates of the old city close to the Diana piazza (but not noisy at all). Daniel, our host, was extremely friendly, helpful and lovely. Thankyou

Minor thing but there was a plastic mattress protector that made the bed a little hot. We were convinced there was an electric blanket on the first night we stayed!
