When you read comments you always think that the perfection can’t exist. But I can tell that Palazzo Gilistro is that kind of places that would definitely deserve a 100/10. Ortigia is a dream place we felt in love with, and that won’t have happened if we didn’t get to Palazzo Gilistro. The hotel is super well located close to all the magnificent places to visit, and to the best restaurants around. While you can feel the heartbeats of the city, you can enjoy a quiet and peaceful cocoon as soon as you step through the door of this haven of peace. The family room we got was very well furnished and super clean. The breakfast is very good and the common area very friendly. Last but not least: the team is simply amazing ! They provided us support before, during and after our stay with the same constant sense of service and hospitality. We are very thankful for having selected Palazzo Gilistro and we put it in our top five best places to come back to. Special thanks to Bernadette 🥰

Palazzo Gilistro is a lovely boutique hotel in the heart of ortigia. The bridges to Siracusa are about a 5 min walk away while from Gilistro nothing in Ortigia is more than 10 minutes away- most cafes, restaurants, the harbour and the historical sites are within 5 minutes or less (cafes and resturants surround Gilistro). The train station and the bus station are about a 15/20 minute walk away. The rooms are beautiful light and airy while public areas are tastefully decorated. There is also a terrace to have a drink which is a lovely space although it was a bit cool to use when I stayed. My room was spotless. Breakfast is extensive- there are very healthy choices (nuts, fruit yogurt etc), sweet options (croissant, biscotti, cakes and muffins), cheese, bread and cold meats etc. Wonderful coffee and company from the ladies working in the breakfast room. There are some especially lovely people working at the hotel who make guests feel very welcome. I would recommend Palazzo Gilistro to anyone.

The staff was marvelous. Shout out to charming Violeta, who served us breakfast with love and care. Hated to part with her! Great Location -- right in the thick of things. Loved it. Hotel receptionist recommended a pizza restaurant a few blocks down that served amazing spicy salami pizza (we ate there twice)

As two single women we choose a room with a twin bed in an antechamber. It was ok (thankfully the bed was super comfy) The shower design could be better. The hand held piece was facing out of the shower so when I turned it on, water splashed everywhere. The staff came up with a mop so everything was fine.

Palazzo Gilistro is in the heart of Ortigia, making it full of character and brilliant for visiting the landmarks, cafes, restaurants and exploring the streets. We could not have been made to feel more welcome by Bernadette and Francesca, who reached out ahead of our arrival to organise valet parking and restaurant reservations. The room was a great size, comfortable and clean. We all slept well in this hotel. The terrace bar is a lovely spot - we appreciated the welcome drink.

Very nice boutique hotel. Some amazing staff! Bernadette and Francesca from the reception were great and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Viola at the breakfast is also super nice and helpful.

Some staff are on the other side not particularly friendly. Due to G7 happening is Ortigia, we had no water and no electricity from 2am to 9h30am which meant no aircon, no flush, no way to charge phones, no shower possible for people leaving before 9:30 etc and were advised at 10pm by message. Unexpected event happens but the way the hotel manager and staff handled it was not great to be honest. Feedback has been passed and things can only be better.

Where to begin! Our room was the terrace was lovely as it meant you could have down time in the room but still be in the sunshine. The staff were incredible. They were very hospitable and they went above and beyond to give so many local recommendations. The location was perfect, right in the hotspots. And you couldn’t hear anything at night as you were trying to sleep which was perfect. Good options at breakfast even though it was a boutique hotel (e.g. gluten free and veggie). The hotel helped us organise taxis which was really useful.

Great location close to shops, cafes, Duomo. Taxi can stop about 150m away (which is quite close, considering!). I loved the size of the room and the shower, airconditioning worked, internet was stable and available everywhere. There is an elevator for your bags. My room had a wardrobe with lots of hanging space and coat hangers. Breakfast was very nice - many choices and lovely coffee. I found both the breakfast room and my own room very nice and clean Staff contacted me by whatsapp to sort out arrival time (all of that was done in English too!). They were really friendly throughout the whole process of booking, arriving, check-in and during the stay.

the little fridge in my room didn't really work - water/foods were not cold in there.

Loved the location and size of the property- so, so much space for our many suitcases. A/C worked perfectly, the room was quiet at night even though right in the heart of the action. Breakfast was lovely, staff were so helpful and accommodating- would highly recommend.

The only thing, and it’s certainly not a deal breaker, the bathroom is very small in comparison to the rest of the property- I guess that can be an issue in these old buildings. Still lived it though.

What a gem! Palazzo Gilistro is comfortable and quiet yet right in the midst of Ortigia with all its charm. Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. The staff here are amazing - so very friendly and helpful. Special mention for Viola who provided such a welcoming breakfast feast. We rarely return to a holiday location yet we are already planning our next visit to the wonderful Palazzo Gilistro.

Nothing at all, it was perfect.

The staff was simply incredible. I organized my birthday weekend here and they delivered on all fronts. The breakfast was delicious and super varied (with so many freshly mad juices), and they catered to all of our allergies and intolerances. The staff even helped me prepare a surprise for all my guests! 10/10 would come back again. The rooms are huge, the location is super central, the terrace is beautiful...Simply brilliant.
