We arrived very late after filming a wedding Sheffield and we were greeted by a very friendly person on desk who at past midnight was still chatty and said the bar was still open for a beer. Arriving at the bar we had a lovely chat with two more staff. Getting to the room it was stunning, clean, warmly lit, massive, comfortable, welcoming. The next evening after filming another wedding we spoke to the same person on the desk who again was lovely and again got a drink from the bar where the girl behind the bar was super friendly. I don’t think I’ve had such a nice experience with staff in a hotel. You were all lovely!

I don’t actually want to write anything it was all brilliant, if I had to get picky it would be: I’d love a plug socket by the bed. Not exactly the end of the world though!

Beautiful hotel with excellent spa facilities and fantastic pool. The standard rooms are much larger than expected, very clean and beds very comfortable. Staff most helpful and food delicious. . Also close to Whitchurch town centre, most definitely worth a visit. Charming, friendly town . Would definitely visit again, as with all of its facilities was good value for money.

It is no one's fault, but unfortunately as the bedroom doors are so heavy,, they bang constantly, which was a bit disruptive trying to get to sleep. However, we soon got used to it and did not take away from the lovely time we had at this fantastic friendly hotel. Thank you.

The hotel was lovely and situated in the most stunning grounds! This was quite a last minute booking! Upon arrival the lady at reception was lovely! As was the lady at check out & 3 of the cleaning staff we met! The room was huge! Plenty big enough for us (2 adults & a very active toddler! The room was clean and had everything you could need! The shower was powerful with plenty of hot water! We had a ground floor room which has a door to outside so was nice to be able to sit outside on the little patio. The hotel is also pet friendly so was nice to be able to take our dog in too! The beds & pillows were very comfy & we had plenty of clean towels! Unfortunately this was a very quick & unexpected visit, so we didn’t use the pool or eat in the restaurant as we arrived after having dinner and left early so no time for breakfast! But it looked lovely!

The fridge in our room didn’t seem to get cold. Rooms could maybe do with a few more plug sockets (like next to the beds) and maybe a touch up of paint but otherwise we couldn’t fault it.

What an absolute gem, the hotel is AMAZING, it felt like I had gone back in time, the hotel is like a living at Downton Abbey set with the most wonderful old world charm, yet had everything you could possible want for a wonderful get away. The hotel was immaculately clean, wonderfully charming and immense fun, I cannot recommend highly enough. The spa and gym was an absolute delight!!! omg!!! location spot on, 10 mins walk to town coffee shops & restaurant and train station near by

I should have booked 2 days :( There was absolutely nothing I didn't like, I had an amazing stay.

From the minute we arrived at the hotel, to the minute we left, we found every single member of staff to be really friendly and helpful, making us feel very welcome. Our room was lovely, with a view over the golf course. It was spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was superb, as were the breakfasts. On the second night, we decided to dine in the bar and, again, the food was excellent. We had massages in the hotel's spa and they were fabulous - Georgia was so lovely and friendly and gave an amazing massage, as did her colleague (Becky?). We swam in the hotel's 20m pool, which was lovely. A good temperature and very clean. Changing areas were clean and lockers a good size too. The grounds were well kept and the car park good. A series of brief power cuts (probably due to a bad storm which crossed the country) were handled by staff in an efficient and light-hearted manner. Despite the phones being down, they kept us well informed with printed information and a member of staff came to the room to advise us what was happening. A potentially bad situation handled extremely well. Would definitely return and have already recommended it to friends.

Reception and the corridor from there to the bedrooms was unbelievably cold. We gather there was an issue with the part of the heating system which covered that however.

Lovely setting, good facilities, friendly helpful staff. The room was large clean and comfortable. The pool was large with a sauna and steam room at the poolside. Plenty of parking It was possible to walk to the town which was 20mins away which had some interesting independent shops cafes and pubs.

I think the decor throughout the hotel was a bit tired and dated. There was no fridge in the bedroom. Breakfast was expensive at £24 each so we decided to walk in to town where it was much cheaper Drinks were rather expensive.

Lovely hotel and really big rooms. We were lucky enough to have a great view from our room onto the golf course. Brilliant warm pool with floats available for the kids, which is really a good touch.

We dined in the restaurant, which was a bit awkward as music wasn't load enough and just had no atmosphere. It felt like you couldn't speak as everyone would hear you. Also, the food was ok, but the kids were still starving after, and it wasn't cheap. Wouldn't dine there again if I stayed again, unfortunately.

We loved the golf course and the spa. The room was spacious and it was ideal having a shower and bath as we travelled with a toddler. The mini fridge was very helpful. The view of the golf course from our room was nice as well.

The floor in the bathroom was chipped and quite sharp, we had to cover it with a towel. It was also quite slippery especially for the baby. The tv remote didn’t work and we asked twice but no one sorted it, it wasn’t the end of the world but would have be nice to change the channel and turn the tv over.

Booked 2 nights one room with a large bed for 2 adults one toddler as there was no family rooms available to book, but on arrival we were given a room with the massive bed and single mattress on the floor for our toddler which was perfect ! Our view was lovely of the golf range, there was a lift up to our floor, we stayed 2 nights and used the pool two days they have hours that children can use it which is 9-11 and 2-6 I think what was fine the pool and changing rooms were nice. We enjoyed breakfast both mornings it was included in our booking they cook the full English fresh to order & had lovely pastries.

Only slight issue was there was a wedding on a thursday evening, we were one of the furthers rooms away from the bar but we still could hear the music and noise from it until between 11-12 even with the windows shut. First morning at breakfast the lady was bit blunt said she didn't have our child on our booking, never offered toast or how we wanted eggs and just got one fried and but second day the man asked how we want our eggs and offered toast and we got two poached eggs ! We would 100% stay again we did love it we would have just have liked a heads up about the wedding. Also nothing was explained on arrival if we could use the gym rooms we saw they had a spinning room on our way to to pool so maybe that could be explained.

Lovely hotel. Welcoming and extremely helpful staff in every area of the hotel. The food in the lounge bar was lovely. Breakfast was pretty standard but well executed and again, the service was great. Room was huge and really comfortable. Absolutely spotless in both the room and the bathroom.

The gym is not the best. It is sufficient for a quick work out but it is pretty much no frills. The location of the hotel (which can't be helped) is rather remote. There are no taxis save for a select few individual operators. The reception staff know of the difficulties, especially for visitors trying to get to local wedding venues and try their best to give you notice if they know the reason for your stay. Just be prepared for a little wait and plan ahead if you need to be at the venue for a certain time. That said, the taxi we got home driven by Andy - was a pleasure! He was so helpful and really nice.
