Idea location as we was at a wedding at Hawkstone Hall

The hotel was ok but we felt it could do with being painted a lot of the paint work was a mess in the corridors and carpet needed cleaning . The chairs in the dining room had stains on as well. I felt it was in need of a facelift. We had a disabled room , I wasn’t aware I had booked a disabled room but it didn’t matter. But as my husband has been a manager in care for over 30 years the first think he noticed was how high the towels, sink and mirror was any one in a wheelchair couldn’t reach. Also there wasn’t a blind at the window in the bathroom.

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Food very good, and great breakfast. Comfortable bed however the shower wasn't powerful at all, but bathroom and room generally clean. Definitely a hotel for just the golfers rather than a nice retreat or short stay.

Was attending a wedding at Hawkstone Hall and Gardens and was given a list of taxi numbers when we checked in as we knew it would be a late one. Unfortunately half the numbers didn't work or no avail taxis at the time we tried to pre-book. We had to walk a good distance back to hotel in the pitch black... Luckily our phone battery had just enough life left to get us back. Room was very dusty and lots of dead wasps/insects around the window sill. Quite noisy at night (thin walls and people in the corridor).

We stayed as we were attending a wedding nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Good shower for the morning.

We went for a drink at the bar on our return but didn't stay due to the loud and boisterous behaviour of the other guests staying at the hotel. However, our room was above the bar, so we could hear everyone in the bar area until the early hours of the morning. We could also hear guests in the adjoining rooms and corridors.

Lovely suit 309 . Balcony, blessed with weather. Overlooking golf course. Staff Lovely , friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend. Breakfast good. Free play on little 6 hole course ideal for beginners. But not cut regularly like the 2 main courses. So if damp morning you will need waterproof shoes

No not to dislike

Staff very friendly and helpful Room clean and comfortable breakfast great as was evening meal.

Unfortunately wedding party also booked in Friday night and a corridor fire door outside the room was banged Open/shut numerous times in the early hours by people going up/down corridor disrupting sleep.

Week day breakfast was excellent, the reason for this was it was cooked fresh unlike buffet style which is served at weekend. Restaurant staff were very good. Our bathroom was small with a bathroom was the tightest I have ever been in (/this is a true golf hotel ) the vanity mirror was not working ( we knew where to switch on !! ) Reception was excellent The main lounge and restaurant looks superb albeit we didn’t eat in there except for breakfast

Nice quiet location on a golf course with ample spaces for dog walks.

Food was pricy so found a decent dog friendly pub a few miles drive away instead. As a dog friendly hotel a limited space to place a dog sleeping area away from the bed would have been appreciated.

Unfortunately due to rain course water logged . . Not their fault. Champion course closed. Limited choice at breakfast . OK if you like a fry up . 3 cereals toast and croissants. Not much choice if you have dietary issues

Well appointed good size comfortable room, with good food in the evening. Good location for our visit.

Not necessarily a did not like, but this hotel predominantly caters for golfing parties due to its location, so not a destination for quiet couple weekend away not golfing, but did not detract from a pleasant one night stay.

Warm comfy and plenty of parking

Shortage of staff in golf club, trying to get food. To play golf was more expensive than staying for one night, you should have a stay and play rate. As we would have taken that deal. As it was the golf courses were deserted, both on the Friday and Saturday.
