Our stay at the Bear ( Hodnet) was excellent from parking the car in well maintained car park to the lovely clen room,all the fixtures were of a very good quality, this was followed by an amazing meal served by well trained and polite staff. Will definitely stay at the Bear in the future.

We loved absolutely everything about The Bear Inn. This place is a real gem and the staff are brilliant. We've just got back from a two night stay in the Beech room. The room and bathroom were decorated beautifully and had everything you could need. We did find that the room got a little bit warm, but there was a fan provided or you could obviously just open the windows which did help. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was really special and of such high quality. Breakfast was equally great and really set us up for the day. We honestly cannot wait to come back.

What a find The Bear Inn is! Delicious dinner and very comfortable overnight stay. The food was extremely good, we had dinner and breakfast, both exceptional. great atmosphere in the bar and restaurant, very welcoming feel. What really makes this place shine are the exceptional staff, they can't do enough to help, courteous, polite, very knowledgeable about the food and wines provided. They work to an exceptionally high standard. Our room was beautifully fitted out with no expense spared on the fixtures and fittings, very comfortable bed and stylishly decorated throughout. Overall a fantastic stay and would highly recommend.

Beautifully designed rooms with antiques and lovely vintage accessories and luxe fabrics. Very friendly staff and good food. Each room has its own design and colour scheme with unique accessories. The public spaces are very nice and roomy. The outdoor garden, terrace also great with nice planting and furniture. The staff couldn't be friendlier. Superb breakfast!

Irritating practical issues to do with heating controls and lighting. Underfloor heating is not suitable to a hotel room and the room was cold. The complicated lighting controls were impossible to manage and we couldn't turn on all the lights! That's a first. A simple switch would have been appreciated. The food is good and interesting but beware as the portions are small.

The hotel is beautiful and very clean and comfortable. The staff were all super friendly. The location is a bit remote with limited areas to just go for a walk as the nearby gardens are only open on certain days. Dinner was a bit pricier than we would normally pay but very delicious and felt like a nice treat.

It would have been nice for the Hodnet Hall Gardens to have been open so there was somewhere nice to walk.

The property is ABSOLUTELY stunning, the rooms are gorgeous with the biggest and comfiest beds you will probably ever sleep on. The staff are so lovely and accommodating. The breakfast was to die for (still dreaming about it now), unlimited drinks and a little breakfast starter was incredible. Me and my friend stayed for a wedding in the local area are were £2 short of the taxi fare, Sharon who was working there gave us £5 as a gesture of goodwill. So grateful for her and all the staff there for making us feel so welcome and helping us since we didn’t arrive back until early hours of the morning.

Great staff, nice room with all of the expected facilities. Good restaurant food with a good menu. extensive choice of wines and drinks. reception was excellent.

Cobwebs by the bedside power point! not big but surprising given that the rest of the room was very clean and tidy! Sweet menu seemed to contain a lot of nut featured options, although they did offer to remove them for me.

Wow! Make sure you book for dinner as well as bed and breakfast - and come hungry. Heaven on a plate. And the staff were above and beyond! Everyone turned out to help when I had a problem in the carpark that needed a jack, and were so kind, helpful and thoughtful the whole time. I wouldn’t have known Hodnet Hall had such a great garden if I hadn’t stayed here. A must add stop for your Shropshire travels.

We had an accessible room and it suited my husbands needs, the wet room was amazing and had been adapted very sympathetically. The hotel was lovely and the food superb.

There was nothing I didn't like. If I had to make a comment it would be to have two easy chairs in the bedroom and maybe a change around of the furniture in the communal lounge area

Everything provided was of exceptionally high quality, the towels were extra large and sumptuous, the bed and bedding were cosy, the hairdryer was powerful. The room was large and furniture in keeping with the style. The evening meal was wonderful (not much vegetarian choice but there was some) and the breakfast was perfect. And there was an electric vehicle charger.
