there is this weird extra charge of 35 dollars a day, per room, so that was an extra $70 a day for me and my son. For amenities -i dont understand this at all and was already paying ALOT of money to stay there. They may have removed the charge when i questioned it i am not sure, i was confused about it

Exceptional Stay at The Royal Sonesta Washington DC Dupont Circle! I had an amazing experience at The Royal Sonesta Washington DC Dupont Circle! The rooms are enormous, spotless, and beautifully designed, making for an incredibly comfortable stay. The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great selection of delicious options to start the day right. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the Metro and the White House, with countless restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, this hotel is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommend—I'll definitely be back!

The parking is very expensive!

Great location. Room itself is spacious. Elevators are quick. Overall quiet in the hotel. Room furnishings are adequate just upholstered furniture starting to show a little age . Great that they don’t charge a pet fee.

Not a fan of the resort fee or early check in fee even if room is available. Traveling with a pet you feel hijacked on early check in fee especially if the room is ready and it’s after 12. Some of the furniture could be updated in the room. Bathrooms need some serious maintenance as shower door wouldn’t close and would hit a marble ledge. Also some of the wood work has water damage and concerning for mold. Also one of the vanity lights flickered no matter what you did so had to leave it off or unscrew it.

I recently stayed at Royal Sonesta, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment I pulled up, I was greeted warmly by Ben, the bellhop, who was exceptionally helpful and set the tone for the rest of my stay. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully maintained. It felt like a true home away from home. The turn-down service was a fantastic touch—everything was thoughtfully arranged and ensured my comfort. What truly stood out was the staff’s friendliness and professionalism. Everyone I interacted with went above and beyond to make my stay perfect. It’s clear that they genuinely care about their guests. Wonderful location that was very easy to get to all of the main attractions while being in a lovely area of town with many wonderful restaurants and a vibe. The beds were also incredibly comfortable and the rooms were clean and bright! I'd recommend.

The parking per night available through the hotel was very high, so we took our chances with street parking and paid meters, which worked out however, the hotel should offer a lower rate for their guests.

The property is in a perfect location for accessing most parts of DC. The facilities are clean and up-to-date, and the restaurant is modern and easy to have conversations in without being drowned out by other noise. Moreover, the best part of the stay is the staff: the front desk staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, the restaurant staff is lovely, and the housekeeping staff is amazing. Our housekeeper even noticed that we had gone through the complementary water and left us more bottles.

There was nothing I could think of that would have made the property better.

A very comfortable hotel with great, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere in the bar and restaurant, the bar man was very pleasant. Great to have a coffee maker and a small refrigerator in the room. The room was enormous compared to other hotels we stayed in on our North American holiday. However, not happy with the amount of non-recyclable stuff (see What didn't you like? comment) Great location for places to eat, particularly "Bagels Etc" opposite the hotel where we got breakfast everyday. Location not so good for all the top sites about 25 mins walk to The White House but there is public transport nearby.

In general, we find the amount of disposable, no recyclable items, that are used in many US hotels very excessive and this should be addressed as we try to be more sustainable and environmentally friendly. For example, the plastic bags containing sugar, creamer, napkin etc.

Lovely hotel ..located near the metro and plenty of restaurants nearby . The breakfast bagels from the little bagel bar across the road were ideal ! Our room was on the tenth floor and was the biggest room we ever stayed in ! Great views of the city . The most comfy beds and a choice of pillows which was great . Would definitely recommend this hotel .

We were disappointed that the swimming pool was closed for the season . It was still very warm early September and woud have loved a swim after a day out . Also ...the extra charge of $35 a day seems a bit excessive and we were not aware of this charge when booking .
