Excellent location, very clean, and the pool is a good escape

there is this weird extra charge of 35 dollars a day, per room, so that was an extra $70 a day for me and my son. For amenities -i dont understand this at all and was already paying ALOT of money to stay there. They may have removed the charge when i questioned it i am not sure, i was confused about it

Location is great, right next to Dupont Circle vibe. Room is big, nice decoration and ammenities. Staff is very kind. Except for some details to arrange (see next paragraph), I would come back. Quiet area, many restaurants nearby.

The room was located on Ground floor right next to the pool. There were always people around even with the pool closed. I cannot imagine being there when it is opened and having a table with people sat right outside your window, I would change room definetly. They offer cleaning your room on demand, which would've been great if it was really well coordinated with cleaning staff / supervisor/Frontdesk...only one day they did it as I requested, the remaining days they were absent. Frigobar is really small and hardly freezes content.

Room is gigantic and bed was comfortable. Amenities were nice, pool seemed nice (but water was NOT heated). Wanted to take advantage of the bike rental but never got a chance. Breakfast is restaurant style, we got a $100 credit per day to eat at the restaurant, the staff there were very nice and fast.

Our shower faucet was worn and basically broken/off its thread. First shower was fine, the next one, we couldn't turn on the water, then we couldn't turn off the water. Room 720. The hotel does seem to have some long term residents and you can hear people in the halls from your room, especially if near the elevators. We found out the breakfast credit did not cover tax or tip on the breakfasts (each item was $20-30, so there's a decent amount of tax and tip generated) so just fyi. The street is very busy and loading/unloading cars can be difficult.

The hotel has a super location, near to the Metro and many shops/amenities. The room was huge, quite modern and clean. I found the bed very comfortable. The gym was pretty good with 2 Peleton machines, which I enjoyed using.

Because the room was at the back of the hotel the light wasn't that good. In hindsight, I wouldn't have upgraded and just stuck with a standard room at the front. There were some water maintenance issues while I was there which the management informed us about - but my last shower upon leaving was cold!

Exceptional Stay at The Royal Sonesta Washington DC Dupont Circle! I had an amazing experience at The Royal Sonesta Washington DC Dupont Circle! The rooms are enormous, spotless, and beautifully designed, making for an incredibly comfortable stay. The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. The breakfast was fantastic, with a great selection of delicious options to start the day right. The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the Metro and the White House, with countless restaurants, bars, and shops nearby. Whether you're visiting for business or leisure, this hotel is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommend—I'll definitely be back!

Great location. Room itself is spacious. Elevators are quick. Overall quiet in the hotel. Room furnishings are adequate just upholstered furniture starting to show a little age . Great that they don’t charge a pet fee.

Not a fan of the resort fee or early check in fee even if room is available. Traveling with a pet you feel hijacked on early check in fee especially if the room is ready and it’s after 12. Some of the furniture could be updated in the room. Bathrooms need some serious maintenance as shower door wouldn’t close and would hit a marble ledge. Also some of the wood work has water damage and concerning for mold. Also one of the vanity lights flickered no matter what you did so had to leave it off or unscrew it.

I LOVED the free bikes. It made my stay so much better, in 10 minutes I was amongst all of the memorials and I could visit DC at my own pace and I loved it. It also allowed me to see far more than if I was walking or relying on a tour bus. DC is so set up for bikes, with lots of bike paths so I felt safe. The staff were lovely - especially those at the door. - There were lots of different restaurants in the area - all very walkable. The pool was great as was the gym. The room was clean. I have nothing negative to say. Would recommend.
