The hotel was fantastic and better than we expected for the price. The breakfast included was excellent with plenty of choice each morning. The stand out for the hotel was the excellent staff, from the evening we arrived with a welcome drink to the moment we left. Nothing was too much trouble for all members of staff from waitresses at breakfast to amazing and friendly reception/bar staff. We hired bikes from the hotel which was great value for money, and a great way to discover the wonderful local towns. The staff knowledge of the local area and things to do including recommendations for food and excursions (you must take a boat trip to Sirmione) was very much appreciated! We stayed in a triple room with side lake view, and although the weather was variable with a few thunder storms, the views were spectacular. The cleanliness was one of the best I have experienced from a hotel of this price with the rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels and linen and a restocked mini bar. The hotel location was perfect with a bus stop only a few mins walk away. We used the local bus service several times to explore various locations and even got the bus to Verona airport for our return journey home, paying just 3 euros each person! We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family and hope we can return at some point soon.

There was nothing we did not like about the property.

The hotel was extremely clean, both in the public areas and my room, which was a good size. There was a lovely choice of food and drink at breakfast. The pool bar menu is very handy if you want a light meal, and you don't even have to be by the pool. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and so helpful. For example, when planning my day trip to Verona they found information on the recently changed bus timetable, the best place to get off in Verona and the main places to visit. There are bus stops within 5 minutes walk of the hotel, which was very handy.

In Booking.com I searched for hotels with Airport Transfers, expecting this meant access to a mini bus or coach. Instead I was offered the chance to book a private transfer taxi. I booked a coach via a tour company. There is a local airport bus, the 482, and I am sure if I had asked the question to the hotel they would have helped me find the right information.

This was a wonderful weekend break - and yes we had fantastic weather - but one of the reasons it was so good was due to the hotel. I would say it was a 15 minute steady walk to town which wouldn’t suit everyone - but we enjoyed the walk along the lake promenade. The hotel isn’t glitzy - but has everything you need done in a very comfortable way and there wasn’t anything missing. Rooms were thoughtfully put together; breakfast was excellent with very good coffee; there is a bar; a small but nice outdoor pool with sun beds which were always available; and most importantly very nice friendly and helpful staff. Bardolino is a good destination with plenty of retail therapy and food and drink options.

The Hotel was excellent. Staff were brilliant always engaging and friendly both in breakfast room and reception. Staff always had a smile on their faces. Room was great and good sized with nice balcony. Shower was very good. Cleaner was excellent. Breakfast was excellent with great choices. Pool was lovely and there were always sun beds available. Drinks service around pool was a bonus. A lovely walk along the Lake into Bardolino or Cisano/Lazise. Bus stop close for buses to Garda or Malcesine. Lovely choice of restaurants in Bardolino or Cisano but also a few close to Hotel. All in all a great stay and will be returning next year.

We found everything to be fantastic,the staff, the location, our accommodation.Hotel Gardenia and Villa Charme is a seriously superb Hotel and we are looking forward to returning in two years. Any information can be sourced from the staff on reception with regards to the local area, including the ferry that takes you around Lake Garda and Bardolino itself. The hotel is perfectly located, just off the main road and only a 2 minute walk onto the promenade that takes you either towards Lazise in one direction, and Bardolino in the other.Its pretty secluded and quiet and the two pools are extremely nice,not big but perfect to cool down in as you relax beside them.Sunbeds around the pool are always available. Also,just across from the hotel there is a restaurant called Le Palafitte,superb atmosphere and the food is amazing and there is no rush to finish and leave,outstanding restaurant

Absolutely nothing

The hotel is first class. The accommodation is exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast is very good with lots of choices and options. It is also reasonably priced. The people who work in the hotel are so friendly and helpful who make you so welcome from the moment you arrive. They cannot do enough for you and are always willing to offer assistance and advice regarding any aspect of your visit to Bardolino and Lake Garda. Its a brilliant location to base yourself for exploring Lake Garda.

There is nothing that I didn't like.

Great location on lake Garda, easy walk to bardolino but we also walked to the towns of Garda and other way Lazise about 1 hour each. Both worth a visit. There is a good supermarket 5 min walk away, a pharmacy also and bicycle rentals. Bus stop outside to go further if you wish, we went as far as Malcesine and got the ferry to Limone. Bus to airport and Verona easy also, especially using app. Hotel easily earns its stars, is well maintained and offers good value bar food. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Didn’t book breakfast but paid for one day, was worth the money. Bardolino is a good town to stay at, it has transport links to other towns and is very flat. There are some nice restaurants and bars also. We liked The Yatch Bar and Divinio mostly.

The local restaurant across the road wasn't the best to be honest although it was recommended to us from the hotel but to be fair we got a small discount.

Our 2 week stay was absolutely excellent, cannot fault it! From the room itself down to the staff, everything was perfect. Rooms: From our stay, it appears that there are some rooms a bit newer than others, to be expected as everything can’t be refurbished at the one time, but even the slightly older ones didn’t have any faults. The bed was very comfortable and this is something we look for in a hotel. There is a small fridge which is very handy and always restocked with water and juice. Cleanliness: The cleaner comes every day to make your bed, a quick tidy and replace all your towels. The lemon fresh smell emphasises how clean your room actually is. Breakfast: Definite value for money and a great variety of options, suitable for everyone. Swimming Pool: Although the swimming pool is of the smaller size, it is certainly a nice experience. It can fit around 20 loungers, so it’s never too busy. Staff: Honestly the staff is one of the main things that make the hotel so good. They are always on hand with any questions that you have. Location: Perfect location, it is nice to have the 10/15 minute walk into the main part of Bardolino. There is a great variety of restaurants, good portions and not too expensive for a family of 3.

Exceptionally clean. Towels changed daily. Lovely views from room. Nice continental breakfast selection plus cooked eggs to order. Took us about 25 minutes to walk to Bardolino centre and the views are lovely along the way.

Not all staff could understand English. One morning when my omelette was undercooked it was passed around 3 staff before it was understood what was wrong. Be mindful that there is no shallow end in the pool, it’s all the same depth.

The hotel is just fantastic. Spotlessly clean, wonderful breakfast, (with a special mention for the delicious omelettes) great pool area and comfortable rooms. However the most impressive part of this hotel are its staff. From the front desk, the cleaners and the waiters/ waitress’, each and every person we met greeted us with a big smile and were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever too much and the service was beyond 5 star. Will be recommending this hotel to our friends and family!
