Had a fantastic stay at Osteria Marascia for two days over my birthday. We'd seen this place on Booking.com during Covid and were unable to visit at that time, but I kept it on my to-do list for when we eventually visited the Lakes. I was not disappointed as we primarily came for the feted hospitality and the food. The building and the rooms are very old and everything has been restored to their original state so expect darker accommodation, old wooden stairs and antique furnishings. Just what we like. It's also a few steps from the river that flows into Lake Como which is a nice place to sit and watch time go by with the locals. The food was incredible, we had the best risotto and pasta and cottolletta of our whole stay (and probably lives!). I have to recommend the perch risotto - it was so good I had it two nights in a row (the perch is deep friend in breadcrumbs and served on top of the risotto so it's not 'fishy' as you may think. Absolutely stunning! My normally fussy father-in-law even had a smile on this face when he at the most enormous pork cutlet I have ever seen. The restaurant was busy every night and I could tell that people travel from far and wide to reach it. The property is definitely off the beaten track and the town itself is for locals, workers and not at all touristy. But it was so convenient to get to all the main hotspots by car that it was really a haven away from the hordes. I have to give a special shoutout to Massimo for allowing my inlaws (who have mobility issues) to take the ground floor suite so that they wouldn't have to climb the big wooden stairs. And also for my surprise birthday candle which was such a nice touch. Thank you to William our wonderful waiter who was so accommodating during breakfast. Highly highly recommended.

Unfortunately, two adjacent hostelries/restaurants were closed whilst we were there (possibly closed down?) so it was hard to get a drink or have somewhere to sit out before dinner. And there isn't really a bar at the Osteria although you could request a couple of beers. This is absolutely not the fault of hosts of course, but just something to be aware of!

Very friendly, family-run, pleasant atmosphere. Very aesthetic stone and brick building with great garden (pleasant until sunset, see below). Dinner was great. As my wife and I had different meals (she started with fish and moved to meat; me the other way around) the head waiter / owner didn't force bottles on us but recommended glasses, matching each to what we were having. My carpaccio with black truffles was especially good. Just two ingredients. Simple yet delicious. Probably the best I've ever had. Reservations, however, are a must!

The room was tiny. The bathroom even smaller. But it had great air-conditioning (effective and unobtrusive) and a comfortable bed. The garden was a great place for after dinner grappa and tiramisu (which was very good - not as good as the carpaccio with black truffles, but close). However, once the sun went down, it turned into mosquito hell. The tiny little buggers didn't even mind replant. Just them madder. And the worst was how quiet they were. Got a dozen bites before I realized the attack. Fortunately, since we never opened the window, the room was bug free. Also, while the inn was great, the locality not so much. For us it was just a stopover, so it did not matter. But, otherwise, there's nothing do except stroll by the river (just not after sunset).

Rustic but very clean, close to facilities but still secluded enough to feel very comfortable. Staff and owner very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was a dream come true, definitely well above the norm. We are two international travel journalists and this was our third time at this little gem of a place, directly on the lake/river and a convenient pleasant walk to town. Would go there again. For us one of the few 10 out of 10 places we’ve experienced.

The entrance to the car parking area is very tight and demands good driving skills.

Locanda Osteria Marascia is a charming and authentic place to stay, offering cozy rooms that are a bit small but thoughtfully arranged. For the price of €100, including breakfast, it's an excellent deal. The highlight is the on-site restaurant, which serves fantastic, authentic Italian cuisine—be sure to reserve in advance. Note that the stairs can be challenging if you have mobility issues. Additionally, there's convenient parking with an electric vehicle charging option. Overall, a wonderful experience at an exceptional value, perfect for those seeking a genuine Italian stay.

This is more than a hotel. It just really made me feel like home! The staffs are so friendly and helpful. Rooms and facilities are just perfect. The restaurant is very beautiful and foods are very delicious. Most of all, the humbleness and friendliness of all staffs are what really made me super impressed. If anyone would like to stay somewhere not so touristic but still can travel to several famous places like Lecco or Lake Como, I would definitely recommend this place! 100/10!

Nothing. Just an information for someone traveling alone with no cars like me, making good plans on how to get back to the hotel at night would help you a lot. However, you can always chat with the staffs and they’re always there to help you!

I would stay again and also longer. Renovated old barn house has a romantic Atmosphere, really nice backyard and it is close to Adda river (nice place where to walk and relax). The room was neat, clean and everything was working. They offer nice rich breakfast with fresh bread/sweet bakery products (also gluten free options as well) and in the evening is the restaurant open. The food is delicious and staff is making you feel special. Parking in the backyard is possible.

Noisy wooden stairs to the second floor - old barn issue, so we have full understanding for that.

This old property does not have a lift, and as such, we had to carry heavy luggages through narrow staircases, up and down, something nobody would appreciate. The bed was too small in the room with two single beds, reaulting in bad sleeping experiences. The king sized bed in the suite room was OK, though. The breakfast definitely needs to be improved, as I did not see any vegetables or fruits and bacons on the menu options.

Locanda Osteria Marascia, with its proximity to Como, has truly captured our hearts. The staff's incredible politeness and experience immediately set the tone for a remarkable stay. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a sense of warmth and professionalism that is rare to find. Their breakfast is nothing short of delicious, offering a variety of local and fresh options that cater to all tastes. It's the perfect start to a day of exploring the beautiful surroundings. Furthermore, the hotel's rich historical texture adds an enchanting layer to the experience. Staying here feels like being a part of history, with all the modern comforts you could ask for. Each corner of the hotel tells a story, making our stay not just a visit, but a journey through time. The combination of these elements - the unbeatable location, the exquisite breakfast, the skilled and friendly staff, and the unique historical ambiance - makes Locanda Osteria Marascia an unforgettable destination. It's more than just a place to stay; it's a place to experience and cherish.

Personal service to your table. High-quality, fresh food and great coffee! The decor in the rooms and throughout the property is fantastic! I would like to see it in the summer with the leafy vines etc.

The only thing I can think of is a kettle in the room for making tea and coffee(instant).

Everything went as it was agreed. Finding the guest house was easy and there was plenty of safe parking place avaliable. The garden was very nice and the room was super cosy and clean all the time. All the staff members were so extremely kind and helpful. Special thanks to owners Massimo and his wife. Also for the gentleman who worked at the restaurant and at the breakfast almost every day. He was super professional! The restaurant Osteria Marascia was the best restaurant we had dinner on our trip. We highly recommend to have at least dinner here if you don't stay for a night.

A car is almost neccessary to arrive to this quest house, but it is still worth it.
