I really enjoyed my stay. Gaetano and the staff are super friendly and hospitable. I arrived early and because my room was ready I could check in early, so nice! Gaetano also arranged an airport transfer for me when I left which was seamless. I stayed in a “superior double” room and the ceiling and tiles were beautiful. The bedding was very comfortable and the room was nice and quiet. The breakfast was abundant and the breakfast dining room so cool with all of its adornments. The location is great for a visit to Catania. I hope to return!

Not applicable! I was very happy with all aspects of my stay.

Everything!! The host Gaetano greeted us like family. The room was spacious with all facilities as described on the website. The breakfast every day was fresh and served with a smile. Also the breakfast room was amazing with a lot of character. Gaetano always made sure we had everything. He was attentive and very friendly. He made us feel very welcome and after staying 10 days we didn't want to leave. The location was perfect regardless if you wanted to just visit Catania only or other towns as the bus stops or train station were within walking distance. We had a view for Etna and street Etnea where we could observe Sycylian street life. The whole stay was very pleasant and we wanted to thank all the staff in Gattopardo House.

I can't think of anything.

This is a nice hotel, staffed by really nice people which I can highly recommend. I was there for 7 nights altogether and was very happy. My room (104) was huge and faced onto Etna street. I didn't have time to sit on the balcony and watch all the people walk by - maybe I'll come back to do that. There are 3 layers of doors on the window so they successfully blocked street noise at night. The hotel is a converted apt building and there are steps sometimes where you don't expect them. This is all part of the charm unless you've maybe had a little to drink, in which case slow down and use your phone for illumination.

A really minor thing - the desk is covered in glass and you need to have an opaque surface for your mouse to work. They had a tourist magazine which I used, but a mouse pad would be nice. Can just be a black piece of cardboard. This issue is not particular to this hotel, I've seen it before. I'm just not smart enough to remember to pack a mouse pad of my own. Actually, the mouse pad could have the hotel name on it !

Large rooms, perfect location, To be kept in mind, that for that price in this area you should not expect amazing things. Photos of hotel on booking are cool, but I'd recommend to landlord to show a bit more real photos

Gapardo House is simply a wonderful hotel, located in a perfect position, right in the center, where you have everything nearby to explore. The hotel is exceptionally clean and offers spacious and comfortable rooms. One of the highlights is the rich breakfast, with a wide variety of options from all kinds of foods. The tranquility inside is remarkable, thanks to the triple-glazed windows that block out all outside noise, ensuring a restful sleep on the soft and comfortable mattresses. Furthermore, the hospitality of Giovani was outstanding, welcoming us warmly and kindly. Definitely book this hotel, and you will be very satisfied!

Beautiful old building with well proportioned rooms and high ceilings. Room had a balcony (small) looking out onto the main street. Host was delightful giving us a great suggestion for dinner.( We are there twice) Comfortable bed. Good shower Great array of food for breakfast We would absolutely definitely stay there again

First night there was a lot of noise coming up from the street (we possibly were in bed too early). Old system for the toilet that you have to pump before flushing. My husband didn't find it a problem but I struggled with it

The location is ACE. Seriously, I can see few better. You’re literally off the heart of Via Etna and yet the street is quiet. I had a room with an outside bathroom. Both were immaculately clean. Good water pressure for the shower and hot water anytime. Hair dryer provided too. Honestly the walk from my room to the bathroom is not that big a deal and I knew it was separate going in. The bed was SO comfortable! Not too hard nor too soft. Pillows also very good, in that vein of being perfectly medium. There’s an extra duvet in the roomy closet as the floor tiles are cold. You can put heating on though: there’s an AC unit with directions for best and cold. I didn’t turn it on so I don’t know how well it heats. Desk in the room to work as well if you wish. The room fridge is benefit and the host kindly offers gratis a cooled bottle of water and a soda in there. Definitely comfortable for solo traveler or a couple for a few nights. Wifi was overall great for uploading photos and videos on social but a bit iffy with video calls. Absolutely gorgeous salon/parlour!

The TV didn’t work and wasn’t fixed despite me asking one AM. But this is SO minor, as I only wanted to turn it on for background noise once. The reception also gave an Asian tourist an eye roll one time for asking to eat breakfast in the parlour. So it’s just for show and to taunt guests??!!

Very nice, spacious room. Bed was extremely comfortable. Easy entry to room and building. A block from metro.

The toilet was very hard to flush. The staff kept saying we were putting our finger on it wrong but sometimes we had to push it over 20 times. Also, not a problem for us but the room is not accessible for the handicapped. A few stairs from the elevator and the elevator would not accomodate a wheelchair.

It was in an excellent location, just off Via Etna which connects you to the historics sights, shopping and restaurants yet quiet. The rooms are in a heritage building, yet have all the modern conveniences. The room was large with a broad luggage rack, a spacious closet, fridge, a clean comfortable bathroom, kettle etc.

One of the problems I experienced was with the elevator which landed between floors and negotiating a heavy bag down stairs was a bit of a struggle. Also only paper cups for coffee and a ceramic one was not available.

Staff is very nice, the rooms are a bit older but nice, everything worked. The location is perfect. Rooms quiet, even while being directly next to the main Catania street.

Breakfast could be a bit more varied. There were no vegetables at all and some condiments like butter gone bad from melting in hight temp. Everyday the same boiled eggs, tosts and some ham + croissants.
