Extremely helpful staff. Room was spacious, airy and clean. The décor was lovely. The location was really central for everything in Catania. The bed was very comfortable (and there was even a spare single bed in the room). Plenty of soft clean towels for the bathroom, which was spotless. The breakfast choice was good if a little limited. The big plus was being able to leave our bags after checking out before 11am and picking them up several hours later. Very kind and helpful people. Great value for money.

Being so central had the downside of the noise from the streets quite early in the day. Some things could do with fixing up, e.g. the shower doors didn't fit together properly. But nothing that spoiled our stay.

San Demetrio provides beautiful, clean and value for money accommodation in a charming old building with a great central location. Michelangelo was very helpful and made the check in process very easy, we arrived earlier than the normal check in time and this was not a problem. The breakfast was the standard continental type with tea/coffee cereal, yogurt, toast and fresh croissants, the kitchen facilities for tea or coffee are also available to the guests. The bedroom & bathroom were spacious and spotlessly clean. Due to the age of the building and its location in the city of Catania it is impossible to block out all the noise but in my opinion the building's character and central location for sightseeing were a good compromise. Thank you Michelangelo and everyone in San Demetrio for a very comfortable 2 night stay in your beautiful city.

This is a bed and breakfast style accommodation providing a good product at a reasonable price, therefore it would be unfair of me to post anything negative when it met all the criteria that I was looking for.

The location of the property was great, close to many well known places and shops. The room was comfortable, had the basic amenities that were sufficient for a short stay. The staff were friendly and polite, and the check in process was quite smooth (considering that I arrived really late at night, I was given clear instructions on how to enter and retrieve the keys). Overall, a good place that’s worth the price and very central to most places in Catania.

You could hear the people from the other room, which was worse at night (I could hear the person snoring next door the whole night, so it was difficult for me to sleep as I am a light sleeper). The noise from the outside can be heard really early in the morning too(now that depends how early you wake up). Also not much of a breakfast option, but good enough if you just want coffee and a pastry.

Great location, very nice clean facilities. Kitchen is open 24/7. Fridge is upstairs for the guests to use, microwave, cooking utensils are available. Gave clear instructions how to get in the hotel and my room. Elevator is there too. Many great restaurants around. I will definitely stay there again.

May be they can write instructions how to use the washing machine. I was not able to find it or use it because the person who was supposed to explain to me in person how to use the machine would come after I leave the hotel and would leave before I return.

Very central location and very safe off street parking. The breakfast area was also available at other times to make a hot drink and sit on the balcony looking over the street. The room we took was very cheap but the staff still refreshed the room each day. The staff seemed to be a family of ladies and were very nice. We even had a full refrigerator/freezer we could use on our level of the building, which was handy for keeping our supplies.

For the price we paid you can't be too critical. Our room was up some steep stairs and had a VERY low ceiling (probably 2 metres) but even that was fun.

Everything was great. Located with the entrance on main pedestrian shopping are of the historical center, close to all the sights, restaurants. Very gracious hosts. Cleaned foom daily. Really good breakfast. They insist on making coffee for you and cleaning up. Beds were comfortsble. Bsthroom well supplied and clean. Will gladly stay here again.

Minor inconvenience was a bit of noise coming from the side road. But did not make this any less enjoyable One thing to note. Taxis are available at the airport snd some at various tourist spots Don't rely on calling one for your hotel. We tried several companies. Got lucky snd another guest staying there had a ride share car and drove us to the train station.

Excellent location, accessed from Via Etnea into courtyard with lift or stairs to 2nd floor. Historic character. As on 2nd floor so great views out of dining room (and those rooms on outer side). Very satisfying breakfast. Clean rooms. Generally very helpful staff. Via Etnea is a main pedestrianised street and gives easy walking to many key areas of Catania inc shops, restaurants, churches, art galleries, the famous fish market, Duomo square and other piazzas, statues, Bellini Gardens etc etc. Short walk to bus stop on Via Etnea for bus to airport for my return flight.

Entrance off Via Etnea into grubby courtyard, not helped by works to adjoining building which seem to have been stopped before completion. Some painting required to some windows but perhaps reflects the urban grittiness of Catania.

Air conditioning, clean room, clean bathroom with everything you need, very friendly staff: we got to leave the bags at the desk after check-out to explore the city a bit more and we recieved very helpful information through whatsapp to help us find the hotel and a parking location, great location right at the old city centre.

It was a very low ceiling, for dutch people a bit too low. Inside the hotel were no elevators so we had to carry the luggage upstairs by stairs.

The host communicated the information for accessing the building and our room extremely clearly. The breakfast room is open all the time. We appreciated being able to make hot drinks at any thing. The food provided was excellent. There was plenty of hot water for the shower, and the shower had excellent pressure. The accommodation was in a great location, being closer to what we were interested in.

The only downside was the traffic noise was quite loud till late at night.

Great location on the main street Etnea, close to the main attractions of Catania city centre. Very nice room with a great high ceiling and the ceiling was so well decorated as in old style. Good bathroom with hot water at hand. Friendly staff who made us welcome.
