Everything was great! We’ve stayed for 3 nights and it was the biggest mistake! Should have stayed for longer! We’ve got a free upgrade to a suite. The room was stunning! Well decorated and very comfortable! The facilities are great. Amazing breakfast in the morning and home made lasagna with a bottle of vine for dinner. And the swimming pool! We’ve enjoyed spending our evenings by the pool. Exactly what’s needed after a long hot day. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They’ve made us feel welcome and gave us enough privacy to have a good rest and enjoy the peace and quiet of the place. Overall experience 10/10. Will definitely come back for longer.

Everything is great.

We stayed at the Castle for 1 night on our way to the Adriatic coast. The hosts make your stay extra special, it is a private castle with just a few rooms and you feel very special. We had a relaxing dinner under a tree set just for us ( 2 families travelling together), it was a magical experience.

Everything was great. Perhaps it only lacks air cons, but since the building dates back to the 12th century it is probably tricky to install them.

We accidentally stumbled across this wonderful hotel and honestly it was such an incredible experience. The family that run this are truly lovely people, the place itself is stunning, everything about it is just magic. An authentic Italian experience, beautiful rooms, highly recommend the lasagne and tiramisu made fresh by the owner.

There is nothing not to love.

Previous reviews accurate. Very nice location, and it is literally like living in a castle (that has been modernized and updated). Only a few minutes from train station in Cernusco Lombardo. Because they weren't so busy when I stayed there, they upgraded me for free to a very large suite -- wow. Host was very nice and accommodating. Included breakfast was nice.

I had trouble getting a consistent wifi connection.

From A to Z an absolute excellent experience - Lorenzo went out of his way to made us feel right away welcome in the Grimoldi Family and their perfect and beautiful historic but now with all modern amenities equipped renovated Castle/ Home. He also made for us a perfect Dinner Reservation and even their dogs Penny and Vito approached us upon arrival on their friendliest behavior. So did Signora Grimoldi postponing her leave just to serve another freshly brewed coffee ( not to forget to mention her homemade cakes and free range eggs …Fi us it was hard to leave after this short stay , on the other hand definitely a must to return for a longer period. We are able to recommend without any hesitation this house and their owners to friends , Family and everyone looking for something exceptional in nowadays times

You enter in authentic Italian charm. The castle is stylishly furnished and restored with respect for its past, in addition the family atmosphere and service are a very big asset for this stay. The hostess and her family do everything to provide you with a carefree and relaxed stay without you getting a cold hotel feeling.

Great stay in a 1500 year old castle! Enjoyed the afternoon by the pool and exploring the grounds. The host was very welcoming. We had a delicious pizza prepared on-site for dinner with wine on the balcony. The atmosphere was great in this building due to its age. There was no aircon but it stayed cool in the building due to the thickness of the walls, it was 32C but still cool in the bedroom. There was only one other couple staying so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

Gorgeous both outdoors and indoors. Extremely dog friendly. Owners super friendly and welcoming. Peaceful and relaxing. Perfect spot to get away and recharge.

Surcharge for pet is €30, which is higher than other similar facilities we stayed, albeit in other parts of the country. That being said, our pup was treated like a queen, so it was totally worth it.

The Castle is very welcoming and plenty of secure parking available outside. We managed a dip in the pool which was ideal to relax after having driven all day. The rooms were good sized especially the bathroom. Plenty of towels available and the rooms had an anti room with sofas as well.

We did not realise we had a shared bathroom but it did not matter since we were a small group of 4 and we also felt the heat since it did not have air-conditioning and the temperature was a record high.

I cannot recommend the Castello enough. It's an absolute gem. Firstly, the property is breathtaking and full of character and charm, it's a dream italian retreat. The building has been lovingly and sympathetically restored and is so peaceful and relaxing. There's a fabulous pool, gorgeous gardens, and some super friendly dogs, and all those things would make it a great place but the hospitality we received was the icing on the cake. Lorenzo and Marina are truly exceptional hosts, and were so incredibly kind to us. They looked after us very well and our every need was catered for. They went out of their way to help us, they were generous with their time and nothing ever was a problem. Breakfasts are delicious with fresh eggs from their hens and homemade tarts. The train that will take you to Milan, Bergamo and Como is only a four minute walk away and the local restaurants are an absolute treat. You will not be disappointed if you stay here, do yourself a favour and book it.
