The location of this hotel was excellent for our trip (we hiked Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Lago di Braies). We had a spacious family room. The hotel was quiet. The breakfast was excellent and started at 7 am. We were able to eat and arrive at Lago di Braies by 8:15 am (essential to be there early to avoid the massive traffic jams). We ate dinner at the hotel 2 nights and the food was wonderful with delicious options for my vegetarian children.

The room was warm even with the windows open. It can be difficult to find parking at the hotel during the lunch rush.

The rooms are nice and spacious. Breakfast was nice and staff very friendly. Location is in the middle of nowhere: need to drive 15-20 minutes to any facities and bus (stop in front) goes only every 2 hours but this was clear when at the time of booking). There were a lot of comments on the noice from the main road; because it was cold we didn't need to open the windows and it was low season and relatively quiet on the road so it didn't bother us.

I booked this place specifically for the attached restaurant - it had very good reviews and an appealing menu. However, 1 day before we arrived, we received a message that the restaurant would not be open on our first night. Would I have known this upfront, I probably would not have booked. On our second night , the restaurant was open but I was a bit underwhelmed: The bread was rock hard ( from the freezer maybe / or out too long?) and the dishes were really quite basic. It was a nice enough dinner but for the (high) prices I definitely expected a more.

It was immaculately clean , pleasant staff and although about 15 k from Cortina d’Ampezzo it was quite nice to get away from the hurly burly

I was very disappointed that the room didn’t have a fridge . We were there 4 nights on a hiking trip and every cold drink or hot drink requiring milk had to be purchased from their cafe . There wasn’t a shop anywhere near and you couldn’t store any cheese or such like to make up lunches for a day’s hiking . It wasn’t cheap to stay there so I thought a fridge would be an inclusion

Beautiful, quiet, peaceful location only a short drive/bus ride from Cortina d'Ampezzo. Nice to have 13th century church and natural water spring directly opposite. The building feels more like a mini castle than a hotel. Do not let the word rifugio mislead you into thinking the facilities will be very basic because they are certainly not. Lovely room which felt more like a bedroom at home than a "hotel" room. The staff were very friendly.

Everything about our stay was amazing. I was worried because there was not a lot of information or reviews available about the lodging at Refugio Ospitale, but the room was big, the accommodations were better than expected and the location was perfect. We did eat at the restaurant and the food was amazing. Definitely our best dinner in the Dolomites.

Very nice breakfast buffet with lots of choice, included in price. Evening meals in restaurant not included, but we'll worth the price. EXCELLENT food and ambience.

Staff did their jobs well , but not very friendly. Not rude, but the expression of hospitality was certainly subdued.

Our early September stay here was great, we were hiking in the Dolomites and the location was central and perfect for the trails we hiked. The staff is terrific and the food is delicious.

The property is on the road basically. Our room was on the road side of the building and even though at night there are few vehicles going by, if you are a light sleeper they will likely wake you up. The rooms are clean, comfortable and basic.

Excellent location, only about 10-15 minutes from Cortina. I had a quite a large room that was very comfortable. I liked the quiet but warm heating system (which was needed because it got quite cold during my stay). The breakfast was excellent, a large variety of hot and cold food. As well as freshly made coffee (or tea) and juice. The restaurant was also excellent though a little pricey. Staff were also very warm and welcoming during my stay. Ample parking.

Free parking on site, good location just out of the main centre, clean facilities and lovely staff. Breakfast was excellent in the morning, great variety and very tasty. Restaurant for dinner was fantastic, definitely worth booking. Coffee/tea facilities were great. Comfy beds and good side bathrooms.

Excellent! Great room in a wonderful old building in the mountains, best staff and the food is just exceptional. The bed was comfortable with 2 pillows options, bathroom very clean and well equipped. Friendly and helpful staff, and the food is next level. Breakfast is tasty and rich with freshly baked rolls, home made jams and honey directly from the hive, and all the dishes were perfect what we chose for dinner. Highly recommended, we will come back again soon.
