A superb family run hotel, with a fabulous near cordon bleu restaurant - so good we ate there every night of our stay. Very clean rooms, and a great continental breakfast selection, served by friendly and attentive (big shout to Paolo!) staff. The owner Michael provided excellent tips on the best places to visit in the region. The hotel is ideally situated and only a pleasant 15 minute walk from Cortina d'Ampezzo. It was our first visit to Cortina, and we will definitely go back to stay at Hotel Menardi again. Did I mention how fantastic the restaurant was?

Far from being dislikes - we loved Hotel Menardi - but there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, or toast available at breakfast. It did not distract from our fabulous stay - wish we'd been there longer than 3 nights.

Great location just out of the bustle of Cortina. Ample parking was a bonus, the staff were great, and the room was cosy. Very nice food, both at breakfast and for dinner, and I loved the bar area. The gardens are beautiful to sit out in during good weather.

I’m not sure I agree that a ground floor room with hedges across the windows counts as a “Mountain View” but yes, I could see the mountains if I bent down a bit! The room was clean and comfortable, but for the money I would have expected more. Air conditioning would be a bonus, the temperatures were high when we were there, and the room was a bit of an oven.

LOCATION!!! We drove in at dark the night before and couldn’t see any of the surroundings. I was BLOWN AWAY when I opened my balcony curtains to see a most stunning and spectacular view being nestled at the very end of the canyon with the Alps in view…and literally at the foot of all the trailheads! At the balcony, I counted 6 waterfalls plummeting down the surrounding cliffs! The breathtaking view made up for the lackluster *interior* charm of the building/room, which feels 70’s era meets 80’s dorm room. But it was sufficient. The breakfast was ok.. perhaps I had been spoiled with fantastic breakfast spreads at the other hotels in the Dolomites. The staff was pleasant and flexible with us shifting our dates by a day, check-in experience easy and tailored/personalized to our arrival time, communication with host was great, and the overall experience staying there was FANTASTIC. We hiked to Grindelwald/Murren (beautiful hike..trailhead 10 feet from the hotel door) and were also easily able to explore the nearby Trummelbach Falls and Lauterbrunnen. Would definitely stay there again!

Interiors lacked the charm of the exteriors (drab hallways, weird carpeting, no interior decor, etc.) Beds were sufficient. Bathroom felt very dated and concerning with visible water damage coming from the skylight. Slightly cramped with no counter space. But again… unless someone places high value on these areas, the room was totally sufficient. If you’re used to backpacking, this will feel more than adequate.

Found this place after not being able to stay at our first reservation location. The drive was 40min north of where we were going to stay. Service was outstanding. Front desk gentlemen Provided help with luggage and showed me 2 rooms to choose from. The bartender was friendly and knew how to make a Margarita perfectly so I was extremely happy. Dinner in the hotel dining room was delicious and very reasonably priced. Breakfast in the morning had many choices to please just about anyone's appetite.

There was no hair conditioner, only shampoo. Also there was no refrigerator so all the food we had for on the road that needed to be kept cold had to be thrown away

The location is perfect for visitors with car. The center city is 15 min by walk. The stuff are super nice and respond to all what we demand. We really enjoy the food served in their restaurant. I really recommend you to try their dinner. The decorations of the hotel are classic, with good taste. This hotel worth a 4 star.

The room facing the road is a bit noisy during the night because there are many cars passing by. So make sure to tell the hotel before your arrival to have a room facing the other side. Still in Cortina, this price is not the highest but I found it high.

This is a beautiful family run hotel with lots of history. Fantastic to meet two generations of ownership and hear a bit about the hotel beginnings as a farm! Using the footpath behind the hotel is a great way to get into town (20min walk).

When booking, be sure to ask for a room facing the back of the hotel. Our room was road-side and very noisy - especially early in the morning. There is no air conditioning (not a problem) but when you need the windows open for air the road noise is considerable. Parking is VERY tight and difficult to manage.

The Hotel is clean and warm. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is good with some varieties to choose. People are friendly and helpful. Thank you.

The hotel had no special space for ski equipment, and no place to dry the ski boots. Unfortunately I had to put on my boots wet every morning. The hotel has a sauna but the cost of this service was quite high - 30 euro/day/person and by appointment only. The restaurant had only one type of beer, and it was quite poor quality.

Traditional-style hotel with cute rooms bursting with flower boxes, set on a lovely green property that backs up to a pedestrian path linking Cortina. Delicious breakfast. Laundry service was very convenient. Free parking.

There is no AC so you have to open your window to get cool air especially at night. Our room looked right over steps, so it felt pretty uncomfortable to have people walking by an open window when we are changing or sleeping. Tub didn’t drain very well. Spa access was an additional, expensive charge. No mini fridge, can use a fridge in the main building but not always feasible and definitely not convenient.

Mike at the front desk was fantastic. We did not have a car but Mike was fantastic in planning our three days of hiking in the Dolomites. He gave us detailed descriptions of the locations and which bus lines and shuttles to use in getting there. The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide variety of of fresh fruits, cereals, eggs and pastries. Rooms and dining area was exceptionally clean and well maintained.

It would have been nice to have air conditioning but I have traveled extensively through Europe and understand that it’s not a common thing to have.

The staff were great, really friendly family run hotel. Room was nice, and clean. Breakfast was ok, they had lots of different choices, but it did feel very sugar heavy food, and not many vegan options. We felt we paid a lot for the room, we were visiting to attend a run and felt the price we paid didn't match the quality of the hotel. The prices might not be as high for other weeks so therefore we felt we didnt get good value for money and over paid because of the run.

The price we had to pay for the room for 3 nights - it felt expensive - perhaps they put up their prices because of the run.
