I stayed at this hotel because it was close to Florence Airport (15 mins walking). To access both the building and your room you need to use a dedicated app. There is a staff member downstairs who works at the bar, but they aren't a receptionist. To communicate with the property, in case of needs, you have to message them via WhatsApp. The room was simple but comfortable. It was equipped with a double bed with night stands, a cloth rack with drawers (no closet), a safe, a desk with a kettle and complimentary tea/coffee, a chair, and an ensuite bathroom with a window. The room had also a big private balcony. The blowdrier in my bathroom didn't work, but as soon as I messaged the online receptionist on WhatsApp, I got a new one provided. The hotel is small but cozy. At the ground floor there are the lobby and a small bar. There's also an elevator. Close to the hotel, there are a couple of small restaurants and bars for breakfast and lunch. Within 10 mins walking, there are also a post office, tobacco stores, a grocery store, and several bus stops to reach the city center (15 mins by bus).

The app system for opening the entrance and the room door with your mobile are a bit tricky to set. After you reserve your room, they provide you an emergency number you can call in case of need outside of the working hours of the WhatsApp receptionist, but it's still dependent on you having signal on your mobile. I arrived ar the hotel at around 1am. It was raining very heavily and, probably because the mobile screen was wet, I couldn't open the entrance door. Luckily, some guests were just going out to smoke in that very moment, so I could access the building without any problem. Otherwise, it would be an issue to make the phone call to the emergency number since my phone wasn't responding to my input.

I added 2 nights to my original stay for health reasons. It was clean and comfortable. Very warm room with good A/C. Nice big balcony to sit out on. Near the metro station, but not too close to the city to be able to hear noise.

The procedure to enter the hotel with a code is unnecessary. If your phone was dead, you couldn't get in. There was always someone on reception, so there was no need for the codes. Room codes, I understand. For a modern hotel, there was no mini fridge in the room. More tea could have been provided as I only had 2 teabags during my 4 night stay. Not many shops or restaurants in the area.

I stated here on the 23rd of September to the 27th of September. 2025. It's a nice hotel outside the city. 5 minutes walk to the tram station. Clean with comfortable beds and a nice balcony to sit out on. Not many shops or restaurants are nearby, but there is a Lidil about 15 minutes walk away to get some supplies if needed. Tea and coffee making facilities (electric kettle) in the room, too. Tv with no English speaking channels, unfortunately. Air con was easy to work.

No soundproofing. I could hear the neighbours in the next room. Bar staff would not give me any extra tea, which during my 4 night stay was disappointing as I only received 2 tea bags in the room when I arrived late in the evening. One of the male staff said the bar was closed, but all he had to do was give me a few teabags 🙄. Staff would sit at reception even though they could see you at the door and didn't open it as you had to use the code given.

Our started with being greeted by friendly staff, who told us the great news that our room was ready, although we were checking in earlier than indiciated. We were thrilled to find out that they had a shuttle bus with perfect timing & reasonably priced at 15e for both of us. The room were spacious (for Italy) and very clean. We liked the security with the locked front doors. They had a great e-checkin service that would have made it easy to access after hours. The location to the airport was fanatastic. The neighborhood was quiet, which was welcomed after the noise of the old city. We very much enjoyed our stay here and all of the convenience. I would definitely stay again!

The hotel is small which allows the staff to be right there for you. It was clean, surprisingly comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. I was only there to meet family the next day at the airport. Great proximity to the T2 line took me to the airport quickly. I was alone and didn’t want to move off the property for a meal. They have a few GREAT homemade meals offered right there. The patio and outside area is so shady, comfortable and the host even brought me an extension cord so I could charge my phone since I was early for my checkin. The bar has a great selection of wines and liquors which I enjoyed. Great place to stay, not in an area that you can tour around but served me very well. I recommend.

Far from activity and history

The hotel is located near the airport and provided a comfortable option for lodging before our morning departure. The hotel was secure and the room was clean. It wasn't anything fancy, but met our needs for a one night stay. The lounge area was a nice place to relax and get a drink in the evening. Staff was initially a little stand offish, but warmed up with a little conversation. We took the shuttle to the airport in the morning (15 euro), which was convenient and on time.

The hotel was a little difficult to reach from the airport. After dropping off our rental car, we discovered there was a long line for taxis and minimal taxi service at that time of day. There is not a safe option for walking from the airport due to heavy traffic and multi-lane roads around the airport. We found the best alternative to be taking the tram one stop from the airport and then walking from the station.

This was a hidden gem! So easy to access from the airport and a direct tram into the city centre. Very friendly and personable staff. Great in-house cafe with healthy breakfast/fresh juices and outdoor dining patio. Recently renovated with high quality furnishings and AC. The pillows and bed were extremely comfortable. Easy parking out front. They held our bags in a locked room while we explored Florence for the day. We had a wonderful time and have already booked our next stay.

Everything was perfect, especially the staff and quality of the rooms. Amazing value!

I stayed at Hotel Franchi both when I first arrived in Florence, and again the night before I flew out. Both times the staff were friendly and helpful, but on the 2nd stay, I was under the weather and they went above and beyond. I was able to check into my room early, order food brought to me, and even had help getting my bags up to the room. The food is amazing (the chicken Cacciatori was great), as are the cocktails and wine/prosecco. It's an easy walk to dinner if you prefer to eat out.

I did not have anything that I did not like.

We loved everything about Hotel Franchi. It is perfectly situated to prepare for a morning airport departure or to rest after a late arrival. Just a couple of blocks walk from the tram station. The staff is kind and gracious, and it was wonderful to grab a quick dinner right at the hotel after our arrival. Breakfast options are also excellent. The rooms have been recently refurbished and the design aesthetic is clean and modern. You can hop on the tram and be right within the center of Florence within a half hour. The excellent Bivio restaurant is just around the block. We will definitely stay here again!

Everything was great.

The room was immaculately clean, perfectly furnished and with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The little balcony was an unexpected bonus. All the staff were extremely friendly and I received excellent communication from them in the run up to my stay. The public areas in the hotel were also incredibly clean and very smartly furnished. This place felt more like a nice city hotel than an airport “transit” hotel. Very nice indeed. I can highly recommend it for an airport stopover.
