I stayed at this hotel because it was close to Florence Airport (15 mins walking). To access both the building and your room you need to use a dedicated app. There is a staff member downstairs who works at the bar, but they aren't a receptionist. To communicate with the property, in case of needs, you have to message them via WhatsApp. The room was simple but comfortable. It was equipped with a double bed with night stands, a cloth rack with drawers (no closet), a safe, a desk with a kettle and complimentary tea/coffee, a chair, and an ensuite bathroom with a window. The room had also a big private balcony. The blowdrier in my bathroom didn't work, but as soon as I messaged the online receptionist on WhatsApp, I got a new one provided. The hotel is small but cozy. At the ground floor there are the lobby and a small bar. There's also an elevator. Close to the hotel, there are a couple of small restaurants and bars for breakfast and lunch. Within 10 mins walking, there are also a post office, tobacco stores, a grocery store, and several bus stops to reach the city center (15 mins by bus).

The app system for opening the entrance and the room door with your mobile are a bit tricky to set. After you reserve your room, they provide you an emergency number you can call in case of need outside of the working hours of the WhatsApp receptionist, but it's still dependent on you having signal on your mobile. I arrived ar the hotel at around 1am. It was raining very heavily and, probably because the mobile screen was wet, I couldn't open the entrance door. Luckily, some guests were just going out to smoke in that very moment, so I could access the building without any problem. Otherwise, it would be an issue to make the phone call to the emergency number since my phone wasn't responding to my input.

The hotel is small which allows the staff to be right there for you. It was clean, surprisingly comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. I was only there to meet family the next day at the airport. Great proximity to the T2 line took me to the airport quickly. I was alone and didn’t want to move off the property for a meal. They have a few GREAT homemade meals offered right there. The patio and outside area is so shady, comfortable and the host even brought me an extension cord so I could charge my phone since I was early for my checkin. The bar has a great selection of wines and liquors which I enjoyed. Great place to stay, not in an area that you can tour around but served me very well. I recommend.

Far from activity and history

The hotel is located near the airport and provided a comfortable option for lodging before our morning departure. The hotel was secure and the room was clean. It wasn't anything fancy, but met our needs for a one night stay. The lounge area was a nice place to relax and get a drink in the evening. Staff was initially a little stand offish, but warmed up with a little conversation. We took the shuttle to the airport in the morning (15 euro), which was convenient and on time.

The hotel was a little difficult to reach from the airport. After dropping off our rental car, we discovered there was a long line for taxis and minimal taxi service at that time of day. There is not a safe option for walking from the airport due to heavy traffic and multi-lane roads around the airport. We found the best alternative to be taking the tram one stop from the airport and then walking from the station.

We loved everything about Hotel Franchi. It is perfectly situated to prepare for a morning airport departure or to rest after a late arrival. Just a couple of blocks walk from the tram station. The staff is kind and gracious, and it was wonderful to grab a quick dinner right at the hotel after our arrival. Breakfast options are also excellent. The rooms have been recently refurbished and the design aesthetic is clean and modern. You can hop on the tram and be right within the center of Florence within a half hour. The excellent Bivio restaurant is just around the block. We will definitely stay here again!

Hotel Franchi is very close to the airport and they arranged a shuttle for our flight. The Hotel is modern in design, clean and the room had a good sized bathroom. Unit was quiet and beds were comfy. A simple room that worked well for a one night stay before our flight. Was a short walk to tram station (that runs from airport to the city) so convenient for hopping into town to visit exhibits or go for dinner.

Check in and assignment of room number / access codes is completed via what's app which is fine unless you have phone access issues.

The moment I walked in I knew this was going to be a pleasant stay. Everything is exactly as posted on the website. Dario’s professionalism and kindness made my stay even more pleasant. The soft lights and decor were very welcoming. Conveniently located near the airport, tram and bus stop so a taxi isn’t necessary to see Florence. The shuttle service to the airport was on time, 3 minute ride and only 15 euros. Make sure you reserve the night before. The light dinner menu was nice, seeing that I was too tired to go out. Clean, comfortable and spacious room. It’s in a residential, school area which is perfect for a stop over, good sleep and a short visit. I’ll definitely be staying again!!! Fabulous stay, really well appointed for Florence airport and the short tram ride into the City Centre. The hotel was very clean and the staff were tremendous. We were greeted on arrival by a very pleasant lady and breakfast was prepared and served to us by a second lady member of staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and the owner, Francesco, who also gets involved with the operations at the hotel was the perfect gentleman. He even came to wish us a safe journey home when we departed. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Prior to my arrival I had some questions and accommodations that I needed done before heading to the airport the following day, and I was able to chat with someone through WhatsApp and get it all done in a timely manner. Whoever was on the other end was super nice, understanding, and responsive.

I didn’t see the WiFi password anywhere in the room, so I was without wifi for the night but that also could’ve been my fault. I also showed up late and didn’t have the chance to speak to someone to get the password.

The room was spacious, well furnished, clean and the beds comfortable. A kettle and coffee were an appreciated bonus, as was the complimentary water. Position very handy for the airport and motorway connections.

The bathroom had a weird quirk: big room, but really tiny shower (could have easily be made bigger in the same room configuration). Parking is first-come first served, apparently, and we ended up parking in the street, but it is almost traffic-free so no big deal.
