Hotel Don Felipe made our stay in Ischia absolutely perfect! Everywhere you look it has the most beautiful views - it’s definitely worth upgrading to a sea view room so that you can enjoy them from your own balcony. The staff are all so lovely and can’t do enough for you - shout out to Alessandro who was super attentive and friendly. The pool is small but clean and a lovely temperature, and we never struggled to get a sunbed. Breakfast was great, really fresh and there was something a little bit different each morning. We loved the location, about a 15 minute walk from Ischia Ponte which has plenty of restaurants and bars but is much more peaceful and chilled out than the main port area. We will definitely be returning to Don Felipe on our next visit to Ischia!

The view was amazing and the hotel’s swimming pool well used in the heat wave. The friendliness of the staff especially Alessandro, was outstanding. The bus stop right in front of the hotel made moving around quite easy.

This was my second visit to this hotel but certainly not my last. The new owners at the hotel have understood the charm and the heart of this beautiful little gem and maintained the previous owners legacy. The views are outstanding, it is spotlessly clean but most importantly, all of the staff are exceptional and go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience possible. The new owners are very friendly and have made some improvements that enhanced my experience such as longer opening hours for food at the pool bar and more services offered at reception. This beautiful place has become more like a home from home for me and I cannot praise it highly enough.

The hotel and the premises are just beautiful. The rooms are designed very tasty (the drapes, the pattern of the tiles) and the view is amazing. The staff organized a few transports for us and everything went very smoothly. At some locations you get a discount (e.g. Giardino Eden) if you drop that you're staying in Hotel Don Felipe.

It's a bit of a walk to Ischia Ponte and an even longer walk to Ischia Porto where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. In the area of the hotel you'll find a few things but it's not very lively there. They do not have enough sun chairs close to the pool and not enough places in the shades/sun umbrellas. The AC in the rooms are not that strong. Most of the food at breakfast was always empty (Cornetto, Joghurt, scrambled eggs) and the staff was very slow in refilling them. Hotels around had a few parties and you could hear the sound of the music until the middle of the night due to the landscape.

Absolutely amazing view over the bay of Cartaromana and Aragonese castle. The amenities are quite good, even if little outdated. Clean room, kind personnel and excellent breakfast (continental style). The sunrise can be admired from the terrace!

Even if the public bus station (C13 for outgoing and C12 for incoming) is right in front of the hotel, the access is pretty difficult. Bus schedule is about one per hour, so you have to plan carefully incoming/outgoing hours, otherwise a taxi, a 20 minutes walk from the end of bus line 7 or more than an hour from Porto d’Ischia. No shops or grocery around. If this is not a problem for you, then this is an excellent location.

The hotel is located in a unique spot in a beautiful bay with an incredible view. The rooms are clean and well-organized. The staff is friendly and smiling, responsive and hospitable. Special thanks to Martina, Mano, and Alex, who made our stay even more enjoyable. Thank you also for the small cake that pleasantly surprised me on my birthday :) Many thanks to Feliciana as well, who provided us with a laptop so we could attend an online meeting during our stay. We wish you a successful season and many satisfied guests. We will definitely see each other again, and rest assured that I will recommend your hotel to friends and acquaintances

I have no complaints

I was charmed my the hotel, the view, the hospitality and the cat, master of all the place :) My room was normal, but even like this was excellent choice, with terrace, chairs and table outside for my morning coffee. But also a beautiful big terrace with incredible view on the castle was on the disposal of all the guests, also a bar. Ischia porto is close and you can even walk, or take a bus. I can only recommend to everyone this hotel.

I loved every moment from my stay there. The only thing I can suggest to the hotel is to plan a lower pillow. I have some issues with the the pillow's height and I can even have a migraine if it's too height. In this case was good, but it's good to prevent other situations.

Lovely location with fantastic views to Capri and the castle Aragonese. Staff lovely and very helpful. Food menu limited but good value and good quality. Breakfast was great. Staff will make you a fresh coffee if you ask. Better than the self-service coffee machine. Walking distance from Ischia Ponte 15 -20 mins, though quite steep. Ischia Ponte is a lovely quiet resort. Bus stop outside hotel, though only about one per hour. Timetable behind reception Bus €1.70 for a single. Taxi 15€ to Ponte and €20 to Ischia Porto.

No access to sea without paying for access to a beach club. The hotel has a 10% discount with the Eden Giardino club under the hotel, but still quite costly for a day €45 -10% pp Ischia Ponte closest swimming. Didn't try the club Coco under the nearby tower. This looked to be cheaper as entrance fee got you a voucher to use at the restaurant / bar. Some loud music from beach clubs some evenings (weddings etc). Wasn't a big issue for us, and not the hotels fault. No kettle in room, but we knew this and took a travel kettle. Kept milk for tea in the mini bar, so could have a tea first thing in the morning.

The views were absolutely spectacular, seeing the sea from the bedroom and then out into the bay from the terrace was amazing to wake up to. Absolute paradise! The pool was also lovely, again gorgeous views and kept clean and at a nice temperature. The terrace bar served delicious aperol spritz, some of the nicest on our whole trip to Italy. Breathtaking views again. Lovely friendly staff, just a beautiful hotel for fantastic value. We spent one of our days at the beach club in front of the hotel and had the best time, lovely food for lunch and the most relaxing day so would recommend this - we got a discount for being guests of the hotel. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and can't wait to return!

Only thing was it was a bit of a walk away from the old town and you have to walk up a steep hill then back down the other side to get to all the restaurants and shops - but this is something we knew in advance and it's not something we particularly minded as we like walking, it was already 20 minutes or so. It also meant our hotel was very peaceful and we got the beautiful views of the bay - which you miss if you're in the old town. It's a trade off we were happy to make but something to bear in mind. There was a bus you could hop on outside the hotel, but they are not that frequent .

Smallish hotel, clean and the staff were friendly and polite. The view from the terrace and pool area is spectacular and features in all the hotel's promotional material and rightly so. There is a bus stop right outside. Buses will take you up to the main road and on to Ischia Porto. If you are of average fitness, the walk to Ischia Porto is pretty easy, a few gradients here and there, but shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. Ischia Ponte can be reached by the main road or quicker by an alleyway, which is up the road and round the corner, called via Soranzano which drops you right in the middle of town, with spectacular views on the way down.

The only thing I can think of, which might be a particular issue for British people who like to make an early morning cup of tea, is there isn't a kettle in the room. But if you're having breakfast at the hotel, they have tea bags and boiling water and the rest of the breakfast menu is fine.
