A classic-style hotel with many advantages. Preserved traditions, interior, maybe in the future it will wait for some renovation. Everything is very clean, tidy. We were there in May, there was a lack of good weather, so we did not use the private beach, which was well-maintained and waiting for us. We used the warm thermal indoor pool for free, passing through the open inner garden with plants. Excellent breakfast and service staff. Amazing view from the window. Next to the bus stop to the center and the ferry. We liked everything, it's a pity we stayed there only one night.

I absolutely loved my stay at Hotel Mare Blu! The decor is gorgeous and the property has a large outside pool as well as an indoor pool. My room was comfortable and had a view of the castle which made for stunning photos at night! The breakfast buffet is one of the best I've had in Italy. I had a spa treatment which was wonderful. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. I can't wait to stay at this property again!

The hotel has a sister property right across the street with a fine dining restaurant, rooftop jacuzzi and private beach. When staying at Hotel Mare Blu, you have access to these amenities. However, the other property was closed when I visited so I didn't get to experience any of these perks. I look forward to returning when it's open.

The staff were fantastic - every single one of the team was very friendly, welcoming and smiley. They were very quick to respond when we had a small problem with our air con - fixed within half an hour. The room was spotlessly clean as, indeed, was the whole hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The hotel's about a 15 min walk from the town centre, and from there a little further to the harbour, but only 5-10 mins in the opposite direction to the castle area with lots of bars, restaurants, shops etc. In other words, well-placed to take advantage of both areas. The private beach is directly across the road, we had no problems accessing sun loungers, and the sea was lovely to swim in.

The hotel was slightly worn in places - a few tiles cracked here and there, and could probably do with a lick of paint in some areas. The hairdryer in the bathroom was at the end of its life - taped together a bit and not so great. I would say however that these points didn't detract from our stay - I would still recommend the hotel as for me the staff, cleanliness and decent breakfast were far more important and outweighed any of these maintenance points.

We loved everything about this hotel! In fact, we are planning to return next summer! Firstly the staff are just wonderful - attentive, professional, helpful and cheerful. They helped us to arrange trips, looked after our every need and when we had a problem with the room they sorted it out immediately. The room was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we might need. The bed was super comfortable and the room was cleaned to a high standard everyday. We loved the beautiful traditional ceramic tiles that were the theme of the hotel. Our balcony, overlooking the garden initially, was spacious and the view was so pretty. Our second room had a wonderful sea view which was paradise. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and had a great variety of products. Lots of fresh and tasty produce. We enjoyed our perfectly mixed aperitivos on our balcony every evening after a day on the beach. We used both the large pool (fantastic) and the terme pool, which we enjoyed. We are beach people though and spent most days on the lovely beach.

There was nothing that we didn’t like, we were delighted with everything.

The staff was warm and friendly. The breakfast was amazing, lots of choices, even for my daughter and I that are gluten intolerant. The thermal pool/ pool was so great, gardens beautiful. Very well kept and clean.

We would have taken an option of larger beds, but since there isn’t we separated the 2 twins by a few inches .

Location excellent, away from main tourist drag and close to castello. Also near water taxi which was great for the boat tour of the island and to the eden and cocomare bathing/restaurants. Pools were quiet and beach very close. We were half board which means we ate dinner on the balcony of the sister hotel across the road right by the sea. Four courses each night of excellent quality with excellent service.

The breakfast was good quality but after a week becomes a bit dull. You have to pay for extra for eggs done any other way than scrambled.

Very helpful staff. Location was very convenient and on the bus line. Hotel provided beach slippers and bathrobes. Good breakfast. Free access to spa. Being able to use facilities at the sister hotel nearby was a nice touch.

Rooms are extremely small. There was not enough space for two slim people and our suitcases. Shower was also extremely small and no area to place items needed while in the shower. Some of the robes had tears and holes and shouldn’t be in use any longer.

I had an amazing time in Ischia and thanks in part to the hotel and its staff. The location was beautiful, and I had an amazing view of the castle from my room which I admired so much. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous and I tried a few different sweet pastries. I hung out on my terrace a lot. I went to the sister hotel that is only a couple of mins walk away for a bit and it was really nice there too, with the private beach. The lobby area was comfy and welcoming. There was a British couple who hosted a wedding that weekend and I had a nice time chatting to some of the wedding guests. My ferry was cancelled last minute from Naples and I was not charged for the first night that I was not able to reach the island, which is very accommodating.

The restaurant area is not open for dinner, but there are lots of other options around. Including the dinning area in the sister hotel. I didn't really see the staff in the spa area as I had some questions about the treatments. I didn't end up booking any treatments. The breakfast could have included more hot food options.

The staff are lovely and very attentive. Unfortunately I broke my wrist on day 2 so couldn't use the pools and spa but the front of house and restaurant staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had a seaview room with a great view of Castello Aragonese. Housekeeping was of a very high standard.

Good breakfast, Nice pool, great views and very polite/friendly staff.

The room was too warm and the Air con was not working. When asked about this we were told to open the window which made it difficult to sleep. Would expect air con to be working in a 5 star hotel
