Loved the view from the room and the restaurant. Food in the restaurant is lovely and the staff are charming. Alessandra on reception was super helpful and kind. Overall I enjoyed our stay apart from the one negative below..

The hotel describes itself as having a private beach. This is wrong. It has sun loungers yes but it was also full of random people not from the hotel. Had I known this I might have booked elsewhere- the beach was small, overcrowded and had quite a lot of rubbish. Plus half the beach is fenced off- not the hotels fault but they were doing noisy works on this and it’s pretty unsightly so sadly this let the hotel down for me.

1.There was no clothes dryer in the room (or at least clotheslines with clothespins🙃) for sea hotels this is a must. It was in all the hotels where we have ever stayed. 2.Towels and bed linen were not changed in the room. We stayed for 4 nights. 3.The pillowcase was very worn out, all covered in slag🙁 A 4 star hotel throws away such worn out linen instead of laying it out for tourists. Please pay attention. 4. dirty beach, all sorts of reinforcement, fencing and netting were lying around.

Amazing service and incredible views! Rooms are recently renovated and clean. The hotel is surrounded by steep stairs both uphill and downhill, however, the boat service provided to Ischia Ponte made it much easier to get into town. The area is residential, thus there is not much in the immediate surroundings. The restaurant by the beach is good. We enjoyed the included loungers on the beach.

The beds were uncomfortable and the pillows aswell. The stairs are something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues or children. One thing which I am surprised no one mentioned in recent reviews is the fact that there is construction ongoing at the beach. Workers are securing the mountains from falling rocks/landslides which meant that a part of the beach was closed and there was some noise from the drilling between 9am-1pm during the week. This will surely pass in a few weeks but worth noting in case you plan to go in the coming weeks.

Nice basic breakfast that was also suitable for vegetarians. The staff was amazing: always so friendly and willing to help. Communication was easy. Nice beach and location, amazing view. The hotel is accessible by taxi boat or by foot if you climb some stairs. I personally enjoyed the stairs. Great exercise! But the hotel might be a bad choice for the old or people with restricted mobility.

The bed was not good. It was hard and pillows too thin. Also the guests in the neighbouring room were very noisy. One time I mentioned about it and yes after that they very a bit more silent but still could hear them every night. Of course it is not the hotel's fault that some people don't respect other guests. And the hotel does not have a 24 hr reception either so no help available immediately.

i found not enough beachfront and deck chairs were very cramped and so close to one another. Therefore this made me uncomfortable not wanting to sunbake as i was practically lying so close to a stranger and couldn't have a chat with my partner as the person could hear our conversation even if we did whispered. the breakfast was abit satisfactory, would of been nice to see slightly different breakfast each morning. serving boiled eggs is for kids, what does it take scrambled or request poached or fried eggs. View from our room was spectacular

Absolutely loved our stay at Hotel da Maria in Ischia! The location is breathtaking, with stunning views of Castello Aragonese from our room. The staff were outstanding—especially Alessandra, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The restaurant was fabulous, with delicious meals and excellent service, and the bar staff were equally fantastic. A truly memorable experience—we would love to return one day soon.

There’s nothing we didn’t like, but if you have mobility issues, please consider the number of steps to get to the hotel.

The view from the terrace is outstanding and the hotel was super clean. The staff was so nice, everyone always smiling and ready to help, they really made our stay better! Ideal for people who want to hangout at the hotel and by the hotel beach. We also really enjoyed the food and the service at the hotel restaurant.

The property is more secluded than expected, if the taxi boats are not operating because of the bad weather, it becomes more complicated to move around. Just keep in mind there are a lot of steps to get to the road and once you get there, you either pay a 20$ taxi to take you to Ischia Ponte or walk 30 minutes, with hills.

An authentic hotel in a stunning position. We didn't have one of the fancy rooms with the sea view balcony, but the room we had around the back had a nice little terrace instead, which was useful. The views from the hotel terraces were stunning anyway and there were plenty of places to sit and admire it. The restaurant was excellent - with delicious food and friendly but professional staff. Travelling to and fro via Angelo's boat was lovely. The beach was Ok, but we also liked the pool which we had to ourselves most of the time. The staff on reception were also very helpful.

It was all lovely. The only slight problem was that there had been some rockfalls and part of the beach was blocked off (with not so attractive orange netting) while the rock face was made secure. This was not really the hotel's fault and I the works seemed to be progressing well and hopefully be finished soon. It didn't really affect things for us too much.

The view from the room was amazing. Hotel was very clean and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The pool was nice, clean and refreshing. It was fun taking the boat taxi to and from the hotel. The dinner that was included was out of this world delicious. Nelo, our waiter exceeded our expectations and made our dining experience the best of our entire trip. He was so attentive and patient answering all of our questions. He suggested the Spagettin del Saraceno and it was outstanding! The tiramisu was delicious. I would stay here again just to eat at the restaurant and have Nelo as our waiter again.

Air conditioning was not good. Sweating while trying to go to sleep was not pleasant. It got better in the middle of the night until the morning. As uncomfortable as this was it would not prevent me from returning. A ceiling fan should be installed.

I could not have been more impressed and grateful for this hotel and everyone who works there. We had an AMAZING experience. It was our first time in Ischia and everyone (and I mean everyone) who we interacted with from the front desk to the server at their restaurant was kind, welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. The whole place feels like you’re being taken care of by family, that’s the vibe and that’s the level of service. We fell in love with Ischia and are so grateful we had everyone at the hotel to guide us. Hotel de Maria made our experience and we appreciate them so much! We will be coming back and will never forget it! Thank you!

The A/C in our room didn’t really work and that was our only issue!
