The location of the hotel was ideal as you were a short walk to Matera's city center. It was clean as well as the room with all the supplies that you would need. The manager (Alessandro) was extremely pleasant and answered any of our questions. An indoor parking lot is available for a fee nearby so this was ideal.

We did not like the idea of walking to another hotel (5 minutes away) for our continental breakfast. There was a lack of hospitality at that hotel when we were served, even though it was considered as a 5-star hotel.

Alessandro was such a friendly and welcoming host who was there for us at the front desk to answer any questions we had. He helped us set up parking and loading/unloading our luggage from the car. He also recommended us an archaeological bus tour of the regional park near the Sassi, which was exceptional. The location was perfect--just on the edge of the Sassi and very easy to walk around beautiful Matera, exploring and eating at great restaurants. The room was very unique, modern, comfortable, and clean, and all the important amenities were provided. The large rain shower was a fun and unique experience. Overall, this was a wonderful stay and I would happily return and stay at the Monoco Bianco again.

Original, exceptional design of the room. Like a residence of a villain from the Bond movie. We liked it very much. A service was also a top class.

When I choosed included breakfast option, I expected a “typical” buffet as is usual in other hotels. If I would know that it means that we will go to some nearby restaurant, where some of the things we get “for free”, i would rather choose some place by myself and pay there no matter how much I would have to. But even still, everybody was super nice to us. Everybody. I love Italian people so much.

Host Alessandro was very welcoming and easy to communicate with even before we had arrived. The hotel is extremely well located within 2 minutes walk of Matera's historic centre. The room itself was very clean, with a lovely, modern design. It had separate toilet and shower rooms, the latter being of the experience shower type. The possibility to foreward book parking a few minutes walk away was also very welcome. Highly recommended for any stay at this historic city.

Location fantastic Room was very large Exceptionally clean Linen was of a great standard and very clean Bathroom was brilliant with all facilities Upgraded to a suite on arrival but not requested Alessandro was an amazing host with all information that you required was assisted with as in tours and transfers etc Highly recommend a stay when in Matera 😊🇮🇹

Great location, stylish interior with aircon and en suite rooms.

The breakfast is small; a drink and a croissant or sandwich and it is provided by a local cafe, which is not open on Sundays……the manager forgot to tell us it isn’t open on a Sunday….there was somewhere else to go but we didn’t know and ran out of time …..

Really lovely property - chic and modern and well appointed room. Clever use of space to get more out of it. Location is great- so convenient to reach and to park. This was important to us as we were coming g with a car. Host was very helpful in helping us to secure easy parking g - we were actually able to leave our car I. A spot in front of the hotel rather than having to go to a garage - it was a paid spot but we were lucky it was available when we were ready to park.

The bedrooms are modern and nice in a old building. Matera is an amazing place to visit but no need to be more then 2 nights. The hotel is centrally located, only few minutes from the old town and restaurants are plenty nearby. We arrived by a car and there was a parking house located around 5 minutes from the hotel which we was ideal for us. The parking costs 1 euro per hour. Alessandro was friendly and a good host.

Breakfast could be improved, but it is not terrible. The croissants are really good but there was not many options other than a croissant.

Great location, firendly staff, nice design of the rooms. Free breakfast is a nice addition but it's basically a sweet snack and coffee in a coffee bar close -very typical of Italy but not something I consider breakfast where I'm from ;)

Guests in room opposite behaved loud until 2 am. No property's fault but noise can be an issue if you get unlucky.

Small boutique hotel, felt a bit more personal. Alessandro was very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to check in a early. Room wasn’t the biggest but clever, modern design and very comfortable. Breakfast included at a local cafe with a choice of coffees, juice and sandwich or pastry. Perfect place for a night’s stay.
