This hotel is a hidden gem in the historic centre of Naples. Hidden behind a door on the busiest street in the old town, it offers a lovely setting (don't miss the rooftop - just a few steps away from the bustling street below). The staff were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was perfect for us. Our room was not particularly large but provided all the necessary amenities. Great location for visiting many tourist highlights on foot. This is Naples though, and if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing stay, it's not the right place. However, for history, vibrancy and the hustle and bustle of a dynamic city, you can't go wrong.

This hotel was incredible! It far exceeded my expectations. Even though it is super conveniently located, right on a main pedestrian road, the room was very quiet. My parents and I stayed in the double room, which was very spacious. One lofted bedroom and one bedroom with a bed on the main floor and an additional lofted bed. And three showers!! The room was very clean, well appointed, and the housekeeping staff did a great job. The front desk staff were amazing. They were so nice and helpful, we really enjoyed talking to them. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy, with kind staff who offered to make us cappuchinos, lattes, etc. We only stayed for two nights but really liked Naples and LOVED the hotel. If we had known, we would have stayed longer!! It was the best hotel we had out of four during our trip to Italy.

We had a great stay at Santa Chiara Boutique Hotel in Naples. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the historic center, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and many of the city’s main sights. Despite being in a lively area, the hotel itself felt peaceful and quiet. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made the stay feel special. The staff was exceptionally kind and welcoming, helping us with directions, restaurant recommendations, and arranging taxis for us when needed. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh pastries, fruit, and good coffee to start the day. We also loved the charming courtyard, which was a relaxing spot to take a break from exploring the city.

We loved our room (very elegantly designed and comfortable) and the location (right in the middle of Centro Storico) and the amazing views on the rooftop, but it's the staff that is particularly exceptional about Santa Chiara Boutique Hotel. Licia, Marco, Gianni, and Dario were all so generous with their time in making our honeymoon stay extra comfortable, quickly helping me upgrade to a bigger room, order flowers in the room, etc. They were phenomenal. I can't recommend their service highly enough. The next time I visit Napoli I'm definitely coming here again :)

Naples is such an energetic, full-on and fabulous city we knew we needed a real haven in the centre where we would relax and recover from walking for miles in the crowds. Santa Chiara BH is so well-named - there’s something heavenly about the way it floats two floors above the riotous Spaccanapoli, offering all possible comfort and calm as soon as you arrive. Light, bright Double rooms on the 4th floor have really comfortable super king beds, crisp white linen and all mod cons. For a really spacious old-school experience we moved for one night into a ‘suite’ on the 2nd floor where enormous painted doors and a beautiful vaulted ceiling gave us the full palazzo feel as well as an even larger bed and foam memory pillows The staff could not be more competent or kind, constantly offering ideas and helping us make bookings in Pompeii, Herculaneum and local restaurants. Cannot recommend too highly.

It’s just geography- it’s situated inside the limited traffic zone so your cab may drop you off in the nearby square to walk about 100 yards up the Spaccanapoli.

The hotel has a small lift that fits two people - the stairs are steep stone stairs. We stayed in the two family room - the website wasn’t entirely clear about what this means, so here is an explanation: -you walk into room one, which is a living room which has stairs to a loft bedroom above with its own bathroom. The loft bedroom is somewhat open to the living room. -there’s a door into room two which on the lower level is the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. It has stairs to another loft bedroom above with its own bathroom. The loft bedroom is somewhat open to the master bedroom. In total, a living room, 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. The loft bedrooms are somewhat open to the rooms below (fine for families, maybe not ideal in other circumstances).

A wonderful hotel with excellent service, very polite and friendly staff, and charming rooms. It’s located right in the city center, housed in a historic building that once (reportedly in the 17th century) served as the Embassy of Calabria. Inside, everything is perfectly done (modern plumbing, AC, etc.) while preserving original historic features like floors, ceilings, and doors. Very authentic! There’s also a lovely rooftop terrace with beautiful views.

Just a heads-up: the hotel is located in a pedestrian area, so expect a 50-100m walk from taxis with your bags

The staff and location were amazing! The property is a 17th century mansion that is currently being renovated and is gorgeous. Our room and several others were completely redone and beautiful. This was the most comfortable bed of all the beds we stayed in while touring Italy. The rooftop was so cool and we could see Capri in front, Mt Vesuvius to the left, and a castle to the right. I cannot stress enough how cool the location is and how welcoming and helpful the staff were!

The elevator was very fast but was slightly scary to me. It worked well and does seem well maintained, but that was the only thing was even remotely close to being disliked. Otherwise this was one of our favorite places to stay.

Couldn’t have been more central in the heart of the old town. Very comfortable beds linen and towels. We didn’t take breakfast but wonderful cafes very close by. Genaro at the desk was exceptionally helpful and the welcoming Prosecco on the roof with the views of Naples and Vesuvius an extra treat. Looking forward to a return visit 😃

The name plate of the hotel is very small and not easily seen. The hotel is also not visible from the street because it’s behind solid wooden doors which are shut most of the time. Being a pedestrian area only, wheeling large bags on the cobblestones for 130 meters is very difficult.

Very stylish hotel in a historic palazzo, a haven in the midst of the bustling old town. Room 205 extremely spacious and comfortable, with great attention to decor and furnishings. Exceptionally welcoming management and team. A good buffet breakfast served.

More an observation: although clear instructions given, it's a bit daunting arriving in the dark. Large gates covered in graffiti and small signage But once you've crossed the courtyard and ascended to the second floor in an ancient lift, you step into a different world.
